Anyone not get their stimulus yet?

My mom is still waiting on her stimulus. I don't think I know anyone else that hasn't gotten theirs.

tyecopeland 07-14-2020 12:55 PM

Not sure if my dad got his yet. Hes drawing his social security so I know his got put a little further down the list. Last time I had asked him about it he hadn't seen anything of it but that was a month or so ago now.

KCrockaholic 07-14-2020 12:57 PM

I haven't. No way of contacting anyone for it either. The IRS site doesn't work correctly.

DaFace 07-14-2020 01:00 PM

You guys are talking about the normal one they passed back in March? I got mine on April 15th.

eDave 07-14-2020 01:00 PM

I know of quite a few who haven't received theirs.

Ya.

Zebedee DuBois 07-14-2020 01:02 PM

Got ours in the last half of April and spent it on new bicycles. Ridden a little over 1000 miles on the new bike.

displacedinMN 07-14-2020 01:11 PM

Never will.

Click "Get My Payment" You have to validate some information on the return then it will come.

I know. I've done this weekly. It never works for my information. It just says the payment status can't be found or whatever. Then gives me no other contact or link information to contact anyone for their error.

Dartgod 07-14-2020 01:30 PM

Mahomes and Jones done got theirs.

Discuss Thrower 07-14-2020 02:10 PM

Had to give it back plus some to pay off income taxes.

So it was utterly pointless.

BigRedChief 07-14-2020 02:17 PM

If you owe the IRS money, they can take it to pay an IRS debt. Some people have said it happened to them anyway.

Halfcan 07-14-2020 02:19 PM

When is our second Trump check coming?

I have a hard time believing they could have coordinated that.

IRS debts don't have a ****ing thing to do with a pandemic stimulus.

If the Feds are craving consumer monkeys, pass out the candy and let them go wild, . . . then worry about balancing the ledgers later.

Possible with a tax lein on a bank account. But that would be accountable.

Baby Lee 07-14-2020 02:38 PM

That's twice today. . . no need to respond to any of my posts.

Why would I have a lien on my head for taxes that aren't due until tomorrow?

Wow where have you all been?
There have been thousands of people who owed money to various institutions, IRS, Child Support, student loan debt that is in default or any other entity that has a lean against you with the IRS. These stimulus checks were ran through the IRS so that money was immediately applied to any debt that the IRS had a lien against.
When the 2cd stimulus comes out it is suppose to be exempt from that debt. It has been talked about by all the analysts following this situation.

Spott 07-14-2020 06:01 PM

I actually prefer it when the IRS is far behind in their work. Keep those bastards short-staffed and buried in paperwork so they don’t have time for audits.

IA_Chiefs_fan 07-14-2020 06:39 PM

I didn't qualify but my kids and parents got theirs some time ago.

Hoover 07-14-2020 06:40 PM

They sent out debit cards a month or so ago.

mnchiefsguy 07-15-2020 12:18 AM

My Mom has not gotten hers yet, but she got the letter from Trump. The letter from Trump had the wrong amount as my Dad passed away last year and they were gonna send stimulus for both of them---even though theirs tax returns clearly show he is gone.

She found an IRS form to fill out to track the deposit..but the response time is 8+ weeks. She sent it in a month ago and has not heard anything yet.

JFC I haven’t worked in the states since 2017 and I still got a check sent to my last address. I put it into my savings and haven’t touched it.

I wasn't talking about what is. I was talking about what should be.

A stimulus isn't a time to reconcile old debts.

Possible exception of child support in arrears as that would go to another consumer with immediate consumption needs.

scho63 07-15-2020 02:36 AM

Your Mom gave me a stimulus check - I passed with flying colors.

KChiefs1 07-15-2020 04:46 AM

If you owe child support...you never will get one.

Don't know a single person that has gotten a card. There was rumors that they would do cards this next time but that was as far as it went.

I got a card. I was surprised about it and thought it could be fake. Saw some articles about it and took it to the bank to deposit.

Well there was talk that the 2cd one would be coming on cards. It just seems dumb to do that for the people that have banking info set up with the IRS.

Correct.

Since I always pay taxes they don't have my bank info....

The government loves the debit card for some obvious reasons. One - they can just put more money in that account. Two - its kind of a bitch to but in your bank account, so people end up jest blowing that money on stupid shit, which is exactly what the government wants!

dlphg9 07-15-2020 10:26 AM

Im getting fed up with the IRS. Give my mama her stimulus money that she worked so hard to earn. If she is not given her money within 21 hours I will be filing a complaint with the Department of Labor!

You do realize that isnthe very reason for stimulus? You are suppose to spend it out jn the economy. That is what helps get the economy going full bore as soon as possible. Saving it doesn't help the economy or an individuals long term interests.

Lol! We are about to have tens of millions of people evicted from their homes, spending 1k on crap made in china is not going to fix that.

King_Chief_Fan 07-15-2020 10:48 AM

Not sure why wife or me received one.
Comfortably retired.

The government should have sent them to those who have had a negative impact due to covid...not everyone. Lots of people who need are still waiting.

Gravedigger 07-15-2020 10:53 AM

Guess they're fighting over the limit that individuals make for the second round, between Republicans wanting $40000 and below, while Dems are saying it should be like last time $75000 and below. I hope they meet in the middle so my wife and I can get one again, we're trying to buy a new house and that money would definitely be used for stimulating the economy.

Well I don't know about your number there. I think it is off. People that were able to draw the unemployment monies should have been able to keep up with rent. Mortgages were able to be deferred if people asked. People should have had a savings to help also. Yes there will be people that are going to lose their places of residence but there will not be as many as your number or even close.

My point is the stimulus isn't going to save the economy. If people had savings before the stimulus, I'm guessing their spending habits are going to be about the same. If they didn't have savings before stimulus, I'm thinking that person is better off saving it or paying off debt, their 1k isn't going to save the titanic.

I can understand this thought process.
Do you really think you know more about how to save and or stimulate the economy than the best economic minds in this country that get paid to do nothing but this kind of research? Did you know that this is the same plan that was used to get this country out of the great depression?
