As the resident Archivist, I wanted to recognize a milestone that most BB forums never see, that is the 20yr anniversary of the ChiefsPlanet. When the 20-30 posters migrated in August of 2000, we werent sure what was going to become of this place, but the passion of the community meant that this place became one of the most prolific sports forums on the internet during the early 2000's and into the 2010's...the community was so strong and vibrant that it ranked as as major forum in the early years before teams began buying and collating other forums under their own brand. Pretty impressive.

Happy 20th to ChiefsPlanet...it's been an amazing ride!!!

So, I happened to realize that it's been 20 years since I joined this forum...while I'm not the most prolific poster today, I joined a community that became one of the biggest sports internet fan forums on the internet. I'm proud to be a part of this forum for this long.

Even better was the SB championship in February...

For all the original members, stand up and take a bow...if you're still on the forum be recognized.

Congrats to all of us. And you're right, this last FB season was phenomenal and it was great to finally get one and enjoy the joy on CP. So many years of misery and karma wiped out in the playoffs and SB. All coming from behind, like a kind of penance, washing it all away.

Wow.... it really has been almost 20 years.
Since becoming a professional lurker, I don't post as much, but have enjoyed the forum since it’s inception.

20 years and still here. We have been through so very much during that time. The heartbreaking games and playoff losses but also 9/11, DT passing and sooooo much more. Glad to FINALLY win a Super Bowl and seeing/living the Mahomes years! I am still so very happy to be here and plan on not leaving anytime soon. Chiefsplanet ROCKS! :thumb:

This place is awesome. So glad I took the plunge to make an account after lurking for a few years. Even if I don’t always get along with you ****ers I love the community that we have here at CP.

IMHO, the one reason this site had as strong of a start as it did and has lasted as long as it has is the initial group of deserters from the Star BB and their belief that this would be a better place for Chiefs fans. :toast: to the pioneers.

It's been an interesting ride since 21 Aug 2000. Met a lot of posters here I'd love to share a beer or two with. Put more than my share on ignore, but it makes my day here brighter NOT hearing them *grin*. Survived KCGannonstalker's assault on the board. Made it through the Camp Hero de jure for 20 training camps.

Yep, it's been fun and I'm looking forward to another 20 or so.

It is amazing that it's been 20 years since AustinChief found a place for us to talk football so many years ago.

Met a lot of cool people from this place. Hell, I wound up crashing on Bwana's couch, meeting his equally formidable brother's and stayed with StevieRay 1/2 way to my drive to Durango. For an internet website, this place has had a real impact.

My 20 years on CP (almost) remind me a lot of the movie 'Slap Shot' without the mullets, large penis, 6' 4" Greek Gods, and more football than hockey.

18 + for me....although when I was stationed in Korea during 2000 is when I started lurking on the Planet! Hard to believe so much time has passed. We've lost some great posters along the way. I lurk now more than I log in. Good to see everyone!
