B1G Could be playing football starting in October
Dan Patrick Show
@dpshow “From source: If conference can pass updated safety measures and procedures, Big Ten targeting Oct. 10 to start football season.” - Dan Patrick This came after the president met with B1G commish Kevin Warren. Warren's son plays for Mississippi St and they will be playing in September. Also: TV partners have already green-lighted any decision that B1G presidents and Kevin Warren decide on, but bigger networks Fox Sports and ESPN/ABC are also pushing for October start, per source. Big Ten will only get partial TV revenue if they delay until Thanksgiving or later. |
Sounds like maybe the parent groups and the pressure from the AD's actually made a difference. Good deal.

Now had this season been delayed til next year his offense was going to have 10 projected starters on offense that were 4* guys and the defense would be average. Gonna be alot of pressure when he goes 4-6 or 5-5 this year if they play. |
They must have had budget meetings today.
|
They should have never tried to not have football

We'll see how committed they are to that. |
Lol no they won’t be.
|
As long as I can watch corn win less than half of their games I'm a happy guy.

Read something a little while ago that the Big 10 was counting on the ACC cancelling as well but Notre Dame made them change their mind and in turn they left the Big 10 high and dry.

Then several groups of parents from Nebraska, Iowa, Ohio State, and Penn State started writing letters and the commissioner decided maybe he made a mistake. I know the Nebraska players were considering litigation, too not sure if they filed it but they threatened it. The commissioner should have known better. |

Also Clay Travis at Outkick facilitated the whole thing. As Whitlock tweeted, ballers get stuff done, wannabees just virtue signal. |
Great to see the pushback from people wanting to move on with life.

In all fairness, Iowa State benefits from the fact that their commissioner does whatever Tejas wants. The B10 commissioner way overstepped his bounds. You know he screwed up when Ohio State signs on to a complaint. |
Let’s hear from all the Corona-panic/hysteria dumbshits now who were predicting no college football just a few weeks ago.
|
Is it true that some B1G teams aren’t practicing or even on campus? I have a hard time believing they will just suddenly start playing football games Oct. 10th

They just let the media bully them into kicking the fans out. The media was hyperventilating over positivity rates in Ames, where the college is testing every student who is returning to campus. The media doesn't care whether or not people are actually sick, just that positivity number to freak people out. Sad. |

All I said was the doomsday predictions about college football are proving to be incorrect with the Big 10 already actively discussing a fall return. Not sure how that is a “political” statement. And now you are the one vomiting political BS. |

BREAKING: The Big Ten must disclose additional information related to its decision to postpone fall sports and in the next 10 days, the Lancaster County district court ruled.
|
It is no coincidence that the conferences with the two weakest commissioners have created a dumpster fire of fail with their panicked/rushed decisions to cancel fall football.
The Big 10’s new commissioner might be the shortest tenured commish in modern power conference history after this fiasco. |

@Bcarp3 Ball is in the University Presidents court... they have access to the Abbott instant testing. It's the final hurdle for player safety and initially they will the only conference that has it. Kevin Warren is working to pull it together... this can happen and he can be the hero |
The timing of this is interesting not just the meeting with President Trump, but the court in Lancaster saying hey we want to see the information. I'm not a lawyer I guess them asking for that information would he standard but what happens if they were to rule against the B1G? Hopefully someone like DJ could chime in on this.

Looks like 30-35% of Big 10 athletes that tested positive for COVID 19 also had myocarditis. Yikes.

@dennisdoddcbs Multiple sources: No immediate plan for @bigten presidents to meet to consider fall start to season. One source, "Oct 10 ain't happening." 1:05 PM · Sep 3, 2020 |
Not sure how to embed tweets on mobile but that report appears to be fake news.

All bullshit like so much else in 2020

Looks like the B1G doesnt have enough votes to start Oct 10th. Most likely will be the end of November.
The reasoning? I dont know. |
Glad to know.

The teams that want to play need to out the ones that don't.
Let the public weigh in instead of doing this shit behind closed doors. |
Nebraskas president was caught on a hot mic this morning saying there will be an announcement tonight that the Huskers and B1G will be playing football soon.
A reporter in Milwaukee has confirmed it start date will be Oct 17th which still makes all teams eligible for the playoffs |
Well, it's tonight
