Says a lot about the value of Mahomes when they’ll put him against Tyrod Taylor all over the nation while Jackson faced Watson

Fancy stadium is a big factor. You can tell from watching those guys that Nantz & Romo love Mahomes. Get to watch him in an incredible new stadium? That's what you call winning for the CBS guys.

I would guess they do. Someone asked Nantz about what he would doing with NFL & The Masters in November. He said The Masters no doubt about it. I think the dude pretty much calls his own shots.

I don't know, I think Houston is pretty much a complete dumpster fire outside of Deshaun. Chargers at least have a legit defense and have shown they can slow down Mahomes in the last few games against him.

Would not shock me if Baltimore drops 50+ on Houston. That defense is just rotten as can be, while the OL and receivers seem to be a joke as well for Deshaun. And we know the coaching is terrible.

Mahomes against a very solid defense in a fancy new stadium or Baltimore against a dumpster fire team in a 20 year old stadium? Not that surprised they would go with Option #1.

Cards are at home same time so I'm nervous we won't get the telecast.

Putting the Chiefs/Chargers on national TV there's a decent chance CBS cuts away from it in favor of the Baltimore game anyways, if they are putting an ass whooping on the Chargers.

It's in north central Minnesota. I went there once to go walleye fishing. It was 95 there the day we left but by the time we got there, strong severe thunderstorms had moved through.

We woke up for our first morning of fishing and the temperature was FORTY degrees with 35mph winds. Couldn't even take boats out.

Basically go up I-29, take a right at Fargo, and go 3/4 across the state of Minnesota. Walleye, perch, Northern, and some muskies. About 8 couples of us taking up most of a resort.

Geez. We are in the SW corner, so it's better protected.

Yeah, we were at a shithole resort on Sugar Point so very unprotected considering it sits out in the middle of the lake with 2 bays behind it.

We talked about this last week, but the NFC is so much more interesting than the AFC that CBS is poaching an NFC game already to lead their early schedule.

Low key huge matchup is MIN@IND.

Both 0-1, teams expecting to make playoffs. 0-2 start would be tough sledding.

Jacksonville vs Tennessee is as you would expect with just their regions but then there’s a chunk up in Washington and Idaho. Gardner Minshew effect I guess.

I'm surprised that KC gets 2 shit teams in the Cowpies and the Falcons and no Tom Brady.

There was several games last year where there was a chunk of Chiefs games were shown in the Texas panhandle (Lubbock) when it did not interfere any Cowgirls game.

Same thing with this game. Most of the state other than Lubbock is getting the Texans game instead of Chiefs on CBS. I think that's unfortunate in Midland/Odessa, 2 hours south of Lubbock. Lot of Texas Tech alums and fans in the Midland/Odessa area but they keep pumping the Houston games into this market. Way more Texas Tech and Dallas Cowboys people here than Houston Texans fans I would imagine. 8+ hour drive to Houston.

Sunday night will be fun watching Cam try to keep up with Wilson. Lots of pressure on Mayfield this week. First game in Vegas. Lock vs Steelers D. Good lineup!

Wasn’t sure where to go with this post but I was just thinking about the Chiefs and Ravens more....

The Lamar Jackson led Ravens have never faced the Chiefs with a legit RB1. The Chiefs also beat them without Tyreek and Fish last year, but that’s another story. They didn’t play Kareem ever, so this week 3 game should be their first go against a player of that caliber in Kansas City. The biggest weakness of their defense is stopping the run.

Just another thing to think about when it comes to that matchup that could show a huge difference in these teams.

That's interesting. I am hoping they can use Clyde's run game and maybe some of this dink & dunk passing to control the ball for a good chunk of the game. Give the Ravens a taste of their own medicine and keep Lamar on the bench.

The Ravens have also never played KC with both Hill and Watkins active.

It just now occurred to me that I might not be able to watch every Chiefs game on TV this year and can't go to a sports bar. That stinks.

That's a pretty interesting piece of trivia. I've seen some very arrogant comments from Baltimore fans. They apparently forgot that the Chiefs whipped them pretty good last year for a huge chunk of that game, and KC did this with a defense that was still struggling in the first half of the season...a gimpy Mahomes with a bad ankle, and receiving corps that was not healthy either.

Thank God they traded him. A big contract to him would have crippled us.

One of the few roster mistakes the Niners have made lately. They would have been better off just paying DeForest Buckner instead of the acquisition of Ford. The other mistake was Solomon Thomas instead of Mahomes, the biggest mistake of all considering how great their defense is.

Apparently Ford was a shell of himself last week anyways, likely due to this neck issue.

With he and Buckner essentially gone, that elite DL now is only good to very good. I can honestly say that I don’t think the playoffs are in their future at this time. Too many costly injuries and Garoppolo is playing quite poorly.

Could be a pretty bad hangover for them after choking the Super Bowl. :eek:

I'd laugh my ass off if the Jets beat them.

Map got changed. Midland/Odessa is now getting the Chiefs game instead of Houston. Maybe they finally realized this town does not give a crap about the Houston team, but we do have a lot of Texas Tech alums and fans who want to see Mahomes.

They dropped a sizable portion of west Texas. OP updated.

Strange... they'd usually have a double header now and then the Cards late. OTOH, there's currently no double header, so I'm guessing it's Dish being dumb.

I expect the Baton Rouge area to become Chiefs Kingdom too.

Also in Phoenix and pissed. Took me awhile to figure out what was happening. Fortunately the first stream I pulled up works great.

I can only assume it's because Cards are on Fox. Only 2 televised games here today, not including SNF.

Google Sportsurge .net and click through the trees (football, NFL, etc.) until you get to the Chiefs. I'm using the first option for the Chiefs, had one ad I had to close before the video would play. Quality is good.
