The search for the missing ice cream at the retirement home. LMAO

JC. I love the "LW" series, but I'm not even sure I want to see Riggs and Murtaugh doddering around LA.
Wait, does Rene Russo still look good? Maybe there's a silver lining here . . . |
Mac and Dennis already did Lethal Weapon 5.

Hell, I don't think I ever saw the third and fourth movies, so I don't associate her with Lethal Weapon to begin with. |
Gibson has been trying to get this film made for a decade but Warner’s just hasn’t wanted to work with him, for obvious reasons.
Four was lame and predictable and three wasn’t much better. I just don’t see how this could be even remotely entertaining, especially after the shit Gibson said about Black people while watching him share a screen with Danny Glover. It it’s real, I’d put my money on an HBO Max release and not a theatrical, although AT&T is dumb enough to spend $75 million on marketing for a film no one wants to see. |

Wow, looking forward to this as much as those "Avatar" sequels.

Lethal Weapon 5: Jews And Blacks
|
Really? Nobody here wants to know what happened to Detective Rigg's and Lorna Cole's baby? Is he/she a cop? Is Detective Butters (played magnificently by Chris Rock) now a Captain? Hell, maybe even Chief of Police? What about good old Leo Getz? Maybe he's helping the gang solve crimes from a retirement home?
I thought LW4 left so many questions unanswered, that 5 was begging to be made. |
They’re getting too old for this shit

What about Maniac Cop IV? Or Blue Steel 2 with Jamie Lee Curtis? I think a sequel or re-boot of Red Heat would be kickass; get Schwarzenegger and Belushi back together again.
Sorry. I just can't seem to get over the fact that there's going to be a fifth Lethal Weapon starring Mr. Uranium 235 "The Unstable Element". Yet another movie to instantly scroll by, clogging up the movie queue. |

You know, I think the idea of this is as silly as everybody else does, but seriously, when was the last time Gibson went berserk, shot his mouth off, and offended everybody? I assume it's been years, since if it wasn't it would have been all over the news. In the interim, he made the exceptional Hacksaw Ridge.
And when it comes to shitty people in Hollywood, Mel would be standing in a pretty long ****ing line. At least he doesn't seem to hate the people who pay to see his movies. And let's not forget that it was his dipshit costar who blamed the Haiti earthquake on global warming. |

I thought they finished it off well enough in the 4th to not come back with a 5th. Murtaugh is rich and doesn't need to work any more, so he'll have to lose all of his money to even come out of retirement. So Riggs and Butters, where Murtaugh has to come in and save his daughter/family again? This just seems like a bad idea all the way around.

I have always liked Mel's movies and directing. Lot of old guys acting hell Tom Cruise is not much younger and I hate him more than Mel. Keanu Reeves bores me. Harrison Ford is ok when he is not crashing planes and is nearing 80.
Get off Mel's ass lol |
Considering that this was one of my favorite franchises as a kid, I kind of hope 5 surprises me. I doubt it'll happen, but it would be great if it had a really good story and some great lines. The odds are against it, but if it happened that way, I'd be willing to watch it.
|
So we’re going to get Gibson as John Wick with I’m too old for this shit jokes?
Renee Russo died. He lives an idyllic life with the kid until she’s abducted/killed he gets back in the game. And has I’m too old for this shit jokes. Close? |
if they can somehow bring back Gary Busey - I'm in!

Mr Joshua, South African a-holes, bad cop Jack Travis, and Jet Li vs Riggs, Murtaugh and Butters! Of course, you have to do some sort of retcon. All those people got killed off. |
Murtaugh was supposed to be 50 during the first movie, which ostensibly took place during Christmas of 1986.
The character would be 84 goddamned years old. |

I have no idea what this story can even be about, but I'm in for Mel as Riggs.
Unless they try to do the family comedy shit they did in 4. Man that movie was bad. It was like they wanted to get a PG13 rating and then when they were going to have to make some cuts to get there they just said "**** it" and released it as an R so it was in a weird mushy middle that was just awful all around. But Mel is 65 and Glover is 75 - there's just no way to have them as cops in this thing, is there? Obviously they wouldn't be uniformed anyway. Even money says there's some bizarre woke element to it. Can't have a cop movie with extrajudicial killings these days (and that's pretty much the cornerstone of the Lethal Weapon franchise). So somehow it will be Riggs and Murtaugh in retirement somewhere when riots break out in the community over some police shooting and either it's them VS the cops or them trying to effectuate change within the force somehow. Y'know what? I've talked myself out of this. They're just going to piss me off. The climate simply doesn't exist for making a movie that properly honors these characters. Whatever happens will almost certainly take away from them. This movie could've been really good if it were made 10-15 years ago but yeah, I think the ship has sailed. And Gibson has to be Riggs for the movie to be worth a damn so it's probably time to close the book on this. |

If this is anything like all his other directorial efforts, it will be a hard R and very violent, even by Lethal Weapon standards. |
bet they don't cock it up with a female lead or passing the torch to some broad

Glover loves his social causes. And in the end, Gibson may be all about a little wokeness to try to get himself back into Hollywood's good graces. He can't be the "I did a guy in Laos from 1,000 yards" Riggs anymore. I just don't think the audience exists for it. Because you can't just have a shut up and eat your popcorn movie anymore. You can't just go have fun. The only place those happen these days is Netflix on $40-50 million budgets and I just can't see this going that route. It's gonna be 9 figure movie with a national opening in theaters and some bullshit 'message'....or it ain't gonna get done. |

Was 4 the one with Chris Rock? 3 was the one with Jet Li right? I’m a sucker for Chris Rock jokes but yeah that movie was shit. If you want to see shit, watch the series they did on Fox. It had like 3 decent moments in it. And was pure garbage. And I like Wayans a lot. |
LOL. Reerun made a filter. Nice work.
