*****All Things Weather 2021*****
Talk about, report, and complain about weather here. It does not matter where you live. Talk about what you got. Snow, wind, hail, storms, virga, meatballs. Give information about what city is close to you. Pics are great too.
This map can be used by anyone and moved to your area. It is customizable for you and gives a lot of information. <iframe width="650" height="450" src="https://embed.windy.com/embed2.html?lat=38.439&lon=-94.849&detailLat=45.000&detailLon=-93.393&width=650&height=450&zoom=6&level=surface&overlay=radar&product=radar&menu=&message=&marker=& calendar=now&pressure=true&type=map&location=coordinates&detail=&metricWind=mph&metricTemp=%C2%B0F&r adarRange=-1" frameborder="0"></iframe> Live storm chasers videos https://www.severestudios.com/livechase/ Windy radar map https://www.windy.com/ Live lightning map https://map.blitzortung.org/#1/52/8 |
It's 69 degrees here. Giggity.

Thanks bowser for closing the other thread.

I really like the windy app, so glad you shared it. Weather is meh at the moment.
|
Ready for spring and summer...I hate winter..
|
We got about a foot start last night, but since it hit on Saturday going into Sunday the impact wasn't that bad. The worst was dealt with by the time I had to go anywhere today.
The best part of living in a townhome is somebody else shovels the ****ing snow. |
The windy app is great. Although their radar does not show fine snow like the NWS does.
I have my new (donated) station running well at school and the website is better than before. Everything at my old school is pretty much bricked with no one knowing what the hell to do and not there. Put on a disclaimer that if anyone had issues-email another teacher. Not a fan of hers. |
Someone needs to talk to me about highway 1 in cali. That shit looks crazy.

Got about 6 here in Iowa. Been a great winter here and very atypical. It snows, warms up and melts the streets. No sub Arctic temps just nice 30-35 degree days.

I had to read a CNN article.:doh!: |
Winter here has been super mild. Almost as if the weather wanted to ease me back into real winters vs shocking the shit out of me after a decade plus of AZ winters. But honestly, I love winter days. The grayer and snowier, the better. So it's kinda been a bit of a subdued deal so far. February yet to come, we'll see.

Supposed to be a low of 7 on Saturday and a high of 14 on super bowl Sunday in my town. Not looking forward to that.
|
75 degrees here now but supposed to drop to the 40’s for overnight lows later this week.

I planted a peach tree and pruned my pomegranate tree today.
I have a Barbados cherry tree and one night last week with all the wind and rain my protective structure got blown off. The temp in the yard got to 37 (maybe lower) and it froze the shit out of it. Looks pretty rough and not sure it will make it. The overnight lows here this winter have been dipping into the 30's on a consistent basis (weeks on end), which is not always the case. I've had to cover plants more nights this winter than ever. |
Yea it’s supposed to be 3 degrees here Sunday

It was sunny and 74 here today. Tomorrow it'll be a brisk 54. I'll have to break out the sweat pants and socks to try and stay warm. Please pray for me.
The city close to me is hosting the Superbowl where my favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs, are on a mission to run it back. |

The inland suburbs in Miami/Broward really get the brunt of the the cold fronts... with overnight temperatures in the 40’s and 30’s and wind chills even lower. |
We got 11 inches last Monday. Took the day off and cleared the driveway 4 times.
Its cold and windy today. Supposed to get more snow Thursday I think. Might be a lot. I hate winter. |

Had some dipshit wake up the entire street maxing out his engine trying to pull away from the curb in a foot and a half of snow around midnight last night. Thought for sure he was going to blow his motor.
Could faintly hear him get stuck again a block or 2 away. |
For all the people who prefer winter over summer:

Spent my morning trying to get a car out of a 4-foot drift. Some people have no business driving in winter. For the record, I'd like to find the author of Field of Dreams and ****ing throttle his soul. Mother****er from NY thinks Iowa is heaven. Live here in January you ****ing moron. |

Supposed to be a high of 5 on Sunday here in Des Moines. Really got spoiled with that 62 for the SB last year
|
Ready for spring and some thunderstorms to watch/track.

I had a path cut and told them "stay to the left". Of course, when I got down the to assess the situation, they were 4 feet too far to the right. :cuss: |

All our NYC sites are shuttered now and I've helping with damage control here at Amazon. What a mess..........

We're having a ridiculously mild winter in Denver. It got up into the fifties this weekend and we've only had a couple of cold spells all winter. Even those weren't overly cold, down into the teens.

Hilariously, dad told me the coldest he's ever been ever was in Iowa. Him and some other guys did a Deere tour in I wanna say the late 70s or early 80s. If it was a Gold Key thing it was like 82. He said the high for the couple days he was there was like 0 and -20s as the low. He said there was a damn snow drift in his hotel room one morning. ROFL Just brutal cold everywhere. Said the only place he was warm was the foundry. God I laugh every time he brings it up. He damn near shivers every time. Dad hates the cold as much as anyone I've ever met. ****ing Iowa man. |
I absolutely hate it here. If it weren't for family circumstances, we'd be much further south by now.
Damn obligations interfering with me enjoying warmer weather year round... |
What's the coldest that a summer can be before it's too cold?
If the average high in the summer was 60, would that be no good? 65? 68? 70? Note that we're talking about the daily high. |
Quote:
right now it should be 90-95 F. we are averaging a high of 68 F w/****ing rain. There is morning dew on our cars (even when not raining, man) at what is supposed to be the hottest time of the year. :thumb: |

Sounds like Iowa about to get pounded again with snow and wind.

I'd love to get a foot of wet snow.

Still snowing like crazy here in NE Iowa.
Forget about even trying to keep up with shoveling or plowing because the wind is at 30mph. Not looking forward to going home from work because that's when the physical work begins. Plow, Shovel and get all my heating wood to my elevated house on the lake/river. Soooo ready for sand between my toes. |
Just started dumping snow here in Chicago.
Glad I used the rare sunny day yesterday to shovel my Jeep out from the foot and a half already on the ground to hit the liquor store for the weekend. |

That is so foreign to me, it's like trying to learn atomic physics. I can understand the concept, I just can't see it in my head. |

I-80 sucks. |

I've gotten dumped on and had to move mountains of snow, but it goes away. You know, other than when I lived on I-80, but much less snow. |
Our back yard is one continuous drift about 8 feet high.

Hate to rub it in but here in Northern California it was 65 degrees and bright sun. Ride my bike 20 miles along the ocean then had a burrito outside in the sunshine.
:thumb: Oh, also a 3 bedroom house cost $1.2million |
I love winter. No yardwork, lower electric bill, No heat and humidity, No tornadoes, and Chiefs and Jayhawk games.

Start shoveling and plowing. Finish all the snow removal and making paths to the wood shed. Bring up loads of wood. It is now 740 PM. The fire is near death. Resurrect the fire, do dishes. Meanwhile, I hear my wife on the phone, who works from home, tell her client "I love winter". I am like, I bet you do. |
