Breeland gone...can Ward be next...please?
Breeland was at least a physical corner. He also rarely got out ran. 35 has neither of those attributes and is somehow STILL on this team. Look at any stat tracker for defensive holding and defensive PI and who's names are front and center? Breeland and Ward. They are drive extenders. Ward NEVER turns his head around. Anyone who has spent ANY time at ANY practice has heard coaches repeatedly say once the ball is in the air, play the ball...not the man. I am positive Ward has been ill for everyone of those practices since Pop Warner. Stated simply, he is slow, cannot help himself from holding and lacks basic football knowledge of how to play the position. I am constantly amazed at how he stays employed at all as an NFL player. I am hoping beyond hope that Sneed takes Breeland's job and we find ANYONE to take 35s spot. I do not care who the Chiefs do or do not get to rush the passer, as long as 35 is in the game, 3 and 5 or longer is almost automatic for the opposing offense.

Hangovers on a Sunday morning are a bitch

Aside from the fact that Ward is actually a very solid corner....
You want to drop a starter from a position group that already has questionable depth? Seems like a brilliant move. |

Found Steven Nelson’s account.

Pre-Mahomes I used to think that this franchise didn't deserve it's fans.
This thread is nudging me in the opposite direction. |

Wow, where did this reerun come from?
Ward is cheap, young, and pretty decent. Why get rid of him? |
I'm on record as not the biggest Ward fan and even I want to hit myself in the dick with a hammer after reading this OP.
|
The best time for this thread to be deleted was immediately after it was created.
The second best time is right now. |
Were your parents reeruned monkeys or were you born in Chernobyl?
|
Veach acquired him in a trade for freaking Parker Ehinger. They have paid him next to nothing and he’s been a solid to above average starter his whole time here at a premium position.
Transactions like that are the reason Veach has been able to keep all our superstars and why we are the best run team in football. Moves like that are what makes a great GM and organization. |
Ward's great.
|
You seem nice
|
So who's gonna play CB for KC?
Y'all really wanting Sneed to be a #1 CB...I think Sneed has the chance to be good, but sample size is pretty small and I just don't think he's ready to match up vs the leagues best CB's yet. Maybe he surprises us all and really takes the next step this yr. He started off good til he got injured, but after Sneed and Ward who else is there? Everyone's hoping that Hughes and Baker gonna get past the inj bug and live up to their high draft status. I just don't think that's something Chiefs should be relying on if history tells us anything. |
Wards not great but he's pretty good, above average. He gets a lot of calls but then again I've noticed SEVERAL that were bullshit calls. Yes it would be nice to uprade but thats true at most positions. He's not our weakest link. Spags has the ability to cover the field with safeties to negate some of our weaknesses in the secondary. Between Sneed,Fenton ,Thornhill ,Mathieu , Sorenson we're fine until injuries occur.

Good gawd… coming from someone that has spent a lot of time on here reading for nearly the past 20 years but rarely posts… this guy needs to read more.
|
You’d think Ward was Bartee the way the OP talks about him. Dude needs to stick to lurking.
|
I really hate to lose Breeland. Ward's an important piece of the defense going forward. Teams are going to avoid the terrifying specter of Sneed on the other side.

I feel the need, the need for Sneed. Hope he solidifies that he's a true #1 lock down corner this year. |
This OP brought to you by lead paint toys from China...

Ward will be gone after this season because some team is going to give him major bucks and we will get a nice comp pick out of it.

What do people make of Fenton. I don't hear him mentioned loads but he looked decent on snaps I saw. He has the best coverage grade for us in PFF (I know, I know).

Ward not next, but very tender
|
I think we're in a good spot at CB, I'm not sure I understand all the hand-wringing.
Sneed is a stud, Ward is a good starter. Fenton has looked good in the slot. Then you have former first rounders in Baker and Hughes that you need to see what you've got. Baker looked good late last year before the leg break. Then you've got Keyes who didn't play much last year because of everyone ahead of him. I mean...to develop young talent they have to play. I really feel like we're 4 deep in guys I'm confident in along with two question marks. But that's a pretty good spot to be in. |

if Baker OR Hughes pan out (let alone both of them) the Chiefs have the ability to let Ward walk if the asking price is too high and still be reloaded at the position. There's going to be a lot of this going forward. The team needs to replenish not only talent around Mahomes but youth as well. That helps ensure the window stays wide open. |
Quote:
Yes, Sneed is a stud. Some say the best CB in the 2020 draft. If I had to make myself have any kind of a concern, it would be about his durability. He had the broken collar bone plus had to leave a playoff game due (believe AFCCG) due to a concussion. But I may be reaching there. |
Quote:
A part of keeping the window open is that you have to keep developing young talent, especially at expensive positions like CB. You can't develop the kids if they never see the field. That's why I'm totally fine with NOT signing a high priced WR this year; we need to see if Calloway and Powell can play. We know what Robinson and to a lesser extent Pringle are. Hardman needs to develop more, too. If you just go sign high priced free agents, sooner or later you end up in cap hell. Churn and burn, baby. Ward walks next year and we'll get a 3rd probably. |

Hey guys. I apologise.. lockdown in Minnesota hasn't been a preamble to consensus.. treat us more like we don't care.
However, I did tell you that Mike Hughes isn't a Christmas present, and that we aren't stupid. We literarily just fleeced you and I tried to warm you. |
Mike Hughes the same injury that destroyed Cam Chancellor, Peyton Manning Danielle Hunter, but you know better.
|
It's a neck injury. You don't necessarily feel it right away. The seoeration between disks in your neck. However it allows spinal fluid to seep through the bones in your neck, and attack your spinal fluid. There's not actually a decent surgery to fix it. You can fuse a neck disk to the next, but it won't make you ok.

You know it's a ban worthy offense to be as stupid as you are showcasing, right? Please tell me you haven't passed along any of your limited IQ DNA to further generations....:doh!: |
