Watching the Opening Ceremonies when they show the # of athletes relative to the total population for each country, it’s striking how some countries underachieve relative to their population.

Slovenia has 17 times more athletes than Congo despite the fact they have a population of about 2 million vs. 100+ million in Congo.

Apparently a road race biker that finished second thought she won gold medal because she didn’t realize someone who was a few miles ahead was actually up there. Keep in mind she apparently never knew this and had half the race to try to catch up had she known it.

Not surprising that Team USA Basketball is struggling. Most of those NBA players barely give a shit during the NBA season when they are getting paid (load management, personal time off, etc.)

Durant has always needed Steph Curry to win at the highest level, so yeah, it isn't surprising.

Is playing some foreign scrubs close to the highest level? This is an indictment on how bad the NBA has become. Flopping, iso ball, jacking up 3s.....the world has improved some but this is more in regards to the decline of the NBA.

A lot of NBA players these days don't know how to play basketball when they aren't getting their touch fouls gifted to them by the NBA refs. That much I agree with.

Interesting that they are still allowing the Russian athletes to compete, but only under the ROC (Russian Olympic Committee).

Russia the country and all its symbolism like Flags have been banned for doping.

I thought the same thing. I wonder if it's to allow the russian athletes that didn't cheat to compete.
