The Mahomes era Chiefs in Primetime... How bad is it?
I'm really curious how the Chiefs record is since 2018 in Primetime Network games. (Thursday night, Sunday Night, Monday Night Football)
Even the great games vs the Rams or Patriots ended up in Losses. Anyone want to dig up these numbers to show how bad we are in Primetime? Also: It would be interesting to see the Chiefs W/L record when Tony Romo is doing the games. It seems like he may be a curse. |
2018: 2-4
2019: 3-2 2020: 4-0 2021: 0-2 |
It's gotta be bad. As a 2nd/3rd shifter who lives outside the KC market I've taken many a night off or rushed home. Just to end up disappointed
Edit: not as bad as I thought. I may be the curse |
They've been pretty good I think. Since Mahomes emerged, seems most of the games have been either primetime or the big afternoon game. All the playoff games and the Super Bowls.
|
The Chiefs are 10-7 in regular season prime time games since Mahomes became the starting QB in 2018.
That doesn't include the Green Bay SNF game that Matt Moore started in 2019. |
Do playoff games count?
|
2018
2-4 (2-5 including playoffs) 0-1 with Romo in PT 2019 3-1 (5-1 including playoffs) 1-0 with Romo in PT 2020 6-0 (7-1 including playoffs) 2-1 with Romo in PT 2021 0-2 |

We made it to the Super Bowl twice and won 1 of them.
EDIT - didn't see the "playoffs don't count" post until after posting. |
I consider "Prime Time" to be any game where you are the only game on.

Mahomes is 10-7 in prime time regular season games
Which means he’s 30-4 in noon and afternoon start times |

I think Mahomes is actually 11-7. Last year the New England game got bumped to primetime due to COVID.

This is because we sold the naming rights to the field
Curse of the GEHA |

I forgot the @BUF win
2019 we lost against GB at home, of course that was without Mahomes. |

Seems a little drastic, huh? |

But really, four of those seven losses came in Mahomes' first year as a starter (and included road losses to the SB-bound Pats, the SB-bound Rams, and Russell Wilson). Since then he's 9-3. I don't think there's really much there there. |
