CEH Injury - Just an MCL Sprain, out a few weeks
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Chiefs?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Chiefs</a> RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire suffered an MCL sprain and is out for a few weeks, sources say. While he’ll miss time, not quite as bad as it appeared last night.</p>— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) <a href="https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1447618829069193220?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 11, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Oh no.
Anyways. |
He looked fine when running through slut sized holes against the Eagles...but Once again against a defense that even resembles mediocrity, he ran into the ass of his lineman and refused to cut back.
|
Now he'll be even slower.
|
I'd like to see more of Willams anyway. A bigger, more powerful RB to run behind our massive, shit-pushing OL.
|
Banged up running backs

I bet he’s slow to recover
|
Gore better be getting carries. He won't give the job back.
|
Gore SZN
|
Literally addition by subtraction. Sick of watching this slow little turd fall face first into the grass the second someone breathes on him. McKinnon better get an actual chance to run the ball now.
|
I figured partial tear at worst, allowing him to walk off on his own power, you're not letting him do that if it was a partial or full tear. Last year when he got injured it looked worse than what it actually ended up to be, dude's body is resilient, I'll give him that.
|
The run that DW broke a few series later over LG was better cutting than CEH has done all year.

That's (not) a shame.

Neither CEH or Darrell would've scored on this play. |
He may as well get cut for 2022. Dead cap is 4 mil though. His ass is on the way out.
|
Gore isn't anything special, either.
|
Gore is also slow.
|
Quote:
That looked slow as shit. Gore just had a blocker for every defender except 1. |
Williams is better than CEH and Mckinon can spell him out. CEH doesn't matter.
|
Gore is basically the same size as CEH, and not much faster. He ran a 4.63 at his pro day.
He is not the answer at all. |

Was afraid that if the eagles' game was his best that we were screwed. Buffalo was another game were CEH looked like a backup. Why did we wait until Buffalo to give Mckinnon his 1st touch? Last night was our first screen pass too, I think. We tried a lot of new stuff, and it looked like we didn't know what to do. I want to see if Gore's vision works with the #1's. He may totally suck, I don't know. I want to see it, though. |
Quote:
Yeah, CEH would have been tackled there about 2 yards past the first down marker. Defenders seem to stick to him and he goes down with the first tackler |

Some players look faster than their times show. Gore is one of those. Give him the rock
|

I did notice that CEH looked faster in the highlights from last years Bills game....that was pre-injury. I've seen enough of Clyde to know he what his ceiling is...serviceable. Gore might have been a preseason aberration...but at least give him some plays. Kick the tires... Hindsight is 20/20 but it appears they should have just kept Damien and used that pick elsewhere. |
Did anyone notice that we seem to start playing a lot harder in the final 8 minutes of the game? Why did it take "losing" for us to give 100%?
|
Wish him a speedy recovery but just ready for him to go away honestly.

I just killed Gore. And he’s never coming back. Sheesh people. Stop obsessing over shitty nobody players |
Derrick Gore is going to **** all your mothers.

That's why we are obsessing over backups etc. We wonder if they ****ed up about Gore too. |
Quote:
Give him a shot...he had a few runs that showed nice vision...before that long TD. I commented on it... |
Gore moar

Any chance we can ease up on the hyperbolic nonsense? |
Gore looks like he takes 2x as many steps as a normal person running.
|

That was just for a few plays though. They gave up again after the roughing penalty |

All this being said, Kareem Hunt would look outstanding behind this line.

If you want to count empty calories I guess that's fine. But as far as actually impacting the game. Clyde virtually has no impact. |

Then he has a BIG impact! MOST DEFINITELY the LARGEST impact Clyde has made on ANY game this year? Was when he fumbled. TWICE. You could say the Kansas City Chiefs are 2-1 and Clyde Edwards Helaire is a big fat shitty 0-2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET WELL SOON CLYDE! |
Eyes don't lie. He just goes down to easy and he isn't quick to the hole.
Shame really. We thought he would bring a whole new dimension to the offense. |
Defenses were much more scared of Damien Williams.
You think Clyde scores (or even gets the first down) on Williams' run to ice the Super Bowl? No chance. |
Veach should just trade a pick for Damien.

Marlon Mack for the cheap?
|
Hopefully his lack of vision keeps him out even longer.

Josina Anderson claims her source told her "his return is not known right now"..so I would be very surprised if it's two weeks that some have speculated.
The issue with Clyde is he doesn't bring three key elements to the table that most great rb's have..and that's speed, size and vision. Yes he can run routes and catch the ball..plus he has good agility in tight spaces but the overall package lacks star quality. In a true partnership carrying the rock maybe he could be alright but being relied on to be the number one guy isn't for him imo and Veach needs to address it. |

I just can't believe that we drafted him in the first round.
I mean what an unmitigated disaster. RB is already a low value position but then to also whiff on the player is just completely brutal. Really REALLY bad. |

A knee injury on top of a high ankle sprain...for a guy who's main trait is quickness...we're just going to have to write him off.
Never draft a midget RB unless they squat three tons. |

Going into next season he should have to fight for his job. He can't be relied upon and when we do try to rely on him, he breaks. |
BOY, I REALLY WISH WE STILL HAD DARWIN THOMPSON ON THE TEAM
