Just how good is this secondary?
 

Dallas has the #5 passing offense in yards/game and the #1 scoring offense. They scored 9 points and no TDs on this group.

The last few games and today especially they've benefited from the pass rush, but with the start of Thornhill, Ward being healthy again, and Fenton now in a starting role, this unit looks as salty and underrated as any in recent weeks.

Fenton is currently rated the #2 corner on PFF right behind Jaylon Ramsey.

The job Ward has done in recent weeks of some of the NFL's wideouts has been impressive (Lamb, Adams).

Sneed is also an emerging star and his nose for the ball and physicality continues to impress me.

Maybe my 2 least favorite announcers in the entire NFL.

We are getting a lot for our money the last few weeks with our cornerbacks, healthy frank clark and beast mode jones makes them look a little better but they are great at being physical at the los, and playing the deep ball. We're playing a lot of man coverage on the outside and our pass rush has delivered. Trust is working both ways.

Troy has gotten worse.

He called Travis Kelce, Jason, and neither him nor Buck caught it.

I hope fenton is just a few week type of injury, seemed like a hyperextension/sprain but could be something way worse.

His reaction was pretty bad. Seemed like a bad injury imo.

Especially on Dallas games.

To be fair, Fox assigns them to Cowboys games nearly every week so it's hard to blame them for picking up a bit of bias.

How about our top 3 corners all being on rookie contracts. None of the three were selected day 1 or 2 of the draft. High level play from guys other teams never saw coming. All gems. In fact we can thank DAL for Ward. He destroyed them today.

Get one more alpha back there to replace the aging Dirty Dan in the offseason and that group has a chance to be smothering. Gay and Bolton getting better and better every single game at the second level.

Like, I'm no fan of Romo, but at least Romo will say interesting stuff and has some inflection in his voice (some might say too much, but you can't deny it's there).

Troy is a monotone robot who only speaks in sports cliches and spouts nothing but stupid and tired sports strategy.

I'm glad KC plays in the AFC. CBS guys as a whole are thousands of times better than the FOX guys.

Pretty good roster back there in the secondary, and getting a much improved pass rush has helped them out.

I did mute the TV today, normally announcers don't bother me but Aikman announcing Dallas is down there with Simms when he announced NYG games.

Our secondary has been mostly good since we hired Spags. They play physical and force refs to throw flags before they ease up. I think we have a smart, well coached secondary but not the most physically gifted / athletic.

Don't forget about Fouts when he announced any Chiefs game. That man hates the Chiefs and he made it obvious. Not to mention, he was also a schmuck and a shitty announcer.

Romo might not have had the success Aikman had in the NFL but he's a far better annoucer, as far as former cowgirl QB's go.

Put Romo on the teams Aikman had and he would be in the Hall of Fame. Aikman is a fraud.

Our pass rush looks ****ing elite.

I really wish the NFL was like MLB, and we got our broadcast team for every game.

Like give me Kevin Harlan and Trent Green every week.

He's an announcer because he won the SB for America's Team and is a man who looks like Goldie Hawn.

Troy used to do commercials for Chief Auto Parts and we used to mimic him in the ads, just super monotone and you did not believe one syllable because he was so fake.

I actually like Romo, he unlike Troy sounds like he actually enjoys watching football and is having a good time. Plus he'll share some of his knowledge about like what a QB is thinking in a particular situation which is interesting. And also there was a game where he started doing the tomahawk chop with the KC crowd. I'd much rather have Romo than aikman

I hate Joe Buck with a passion

Absolutely nuts that our starting three CBs are all basically home grown. Dave Merritt has done an amazing job with what he has been given.

Our CB's look amazing in Man coverage when they only need to cover for 3-5 Seconds. Before when we had no pass rush, it was unrealistic to expect them to cover forever.

They are as good as the front 7 allow them to be.

Really ****ing good. Check this breakdown. The communication at 1:35 is elite. They are a strong, gelled unit.

I can’t tell if he hates the Chiefs more than anyone else or he’s just really a bitter old man that hates everything. He played against the 70’s and 80’s Chiefs so it seems like he shouldn’t hate us more than the Raiders or Broncos. He is definitely a terrible announcer and it does some like he holds a grudge against this franchise for some reason.

Maybe we should ask Keenan Allen what he thinks about our secondary, and if he has any nicknames for them??

They were more concerned with HOW the refs got it right, rather than the fact that they got it right.

My favorite play of the game is not one I have seen much talk about. Second drive for the Cowboys, 2nd and 11 (this whole series is great) Dak throws a screen to Gallup. Sneed tackles him while he is in the air catching the ball! Talk about knowing what the offense was doing.

The secondary is just as good or bad as the front 4.
