Mulch Anyone?

So I bought one of these

And I buy and sell this locally when I have time

Sometimes I deliver this

The sub compact tractor is a bit of a learning curve but I am getting better at it

Pretty easy to make money with it, this will be my hobby when I retire.

Be careful. Every time you move a bunch of gravel it changes the earth's gravitational field a little bit.

I hear ya I can't move but like 2 tons at a time

Peter Gibbons 12-11-2021 06:45 PM

Where are you located in NC? How far do you deliver? I notice the mulch is more red than black. Could you be slowly converting to the one, true football religion?

Vladimir_Kyrilytch 12-11-2021 06:46 PM

you should never f*** a spider on the fly. bearcat you bastard I was just trying to fit in.

Central NC... Not this is 100% Natural Cedar , I buy that much mulch here from the sawmill for 60 bucks a load and deliver it all day long for 110 if within 10 miles, if further more $$$ I touch nothing, dump and go, I do not spread it but I will dump it in multiple places in their yard. Thats over 4 yards

Every little bit has an impact, though. I worry that at some point someone will re-do their driveway and it'll send us all hurtling into the sun.

You ought to see the big hole at the rock quarry , we are ****ed

Kinda like Guam tipping over if too many people go there?

I will deliver the customer what they want but I don't like messing with that dyed stuff, I usually talk them into cedar because bugs and snakes hate it

Peter Gibbons 12-11-2021 06:52 PM

It could also throw off the Van Allen belt beforehand allowing us to die from loss of the atmosphere. This gives me even more to worry about. I may buy a bulldozer snd trailer and haul gravel back to where it used to be as my retirement hobby. The wife will be happy to know I have found a purpose.

Rain Man 12-11-2021 06:55 PM

Yeah, we need to fix this. I'm going to start by finding all that rock that's washed downstream from the Grand Canyon and start putting it back.

Nice tractor. Where'd you steal it?

Halfcan 12-11-2021 07:29 PM

Fader's season will be mulch after Sunday.

Mike in SW-MO 12-11-2021 07:32 PM

I have never mulched anyone.

MTG#10 12-11-2021 07:34 PM

This is a nice fantasy thread, but everyone knows:

1) Raiders fans don't have jobs to retire from.

2) Raiders fans don't have any use for tractors or dump trailers since they don't work.

3) Raiders fans cant afford tractors or dump trailers since they don't work, so if the property in the pics are really in your possession you obviously stole them.

MOhillbilly 12-11-2021 07:38 PM

Having a tractor with a bucket is like owning a slave.

Stryker 12-11-2021 07:48 PM

That is actually pretty cool! Great job!

I gotta ask. What’s the TB on your truck stand for? Tampa Bay, Tom Brady, or Tuberculosis??

Vladimir_Kyrilytch 12-11-2021 11:39 PM

a lot of Chiefs fans hate Broncos fans. I don't really know why, cause I'm not from KC. It must have to do with the proximity to Denver.

I'm a Chiefs fan from Oregon. I've been dealing with Raider fans my whole life. I like the Broncos; not really but I'm a Rockies fan a little bit so actually, depending on the time of year......

Here's what I've been dealing with my whole life as a Chiefs fan. Not Broncos fans. Raider fans. This guy is from North Carolina he doesn't even count as a Raider fan. I deal with Raider fans all the time.

Chiefs fans that hate the Broncos remind me of Patton. "We've been fighting the wrong enemy all along."

LiveSteam 12-11-2021 11:49 PM

Is that a fact

It wasn't me (assuming you're talking about being booted from another thread, which I noticed a few minutes ago), but the whole "I hope everyone dies" and then your escalation of that did remind me of this relevant Office clip (you're Andy)....

so you are getting it for $15/yard? i would be charging more than $110 to deliver it. i mean after the $60 you spend to buy it, the gas and mileage you’re macking what…$30?

probably 40 , but most of my sales are like within 5 miles or so. Mulch is light too. I am seriously not trying to get rich on it, I enjoy helping people out especially old people.

fb marketplace, I researched these sub compacts for months, and the Kioti was the best one for me, this is 2014 model with 160 hours on it. he ran it too long on just a small amount of diesel in the tank and the fuel gauge is stuck inside the tank but sometimes that fixes itself when you fill up the fuel and it sloshes a bit, sometimes it has to be replaced.

R8RFAN 12-12-2021 06:26 AM

Oh and another reason I bought it is to help my 80 year old inlaws who are in better physical shape then I am , they have a little land and still have a garden that they take seriously here is some pics I took about a month ago from their place

I wish I had a need for a tractor like that.

Anyone have a need for an Oliver 77 Row Crop with a belly mower, I can see it to you cheap

I personally don't have enough land to justify it I have just always wanted one. The 60 inch deck chops leaves up nicely. I enjoy helping my elderly in-laws with their 5 or 6 acres and their small gardens. Regardless of if I am on my Zero turn or that tractor it is therapeutic to me when I am on it. I love to mow grass kinda like Forrest and like to help elderly people that need stuff done but can't afford it. I try make a small profit when I can and if I take a loss so be it. I am at the point in my life where it's not all about me anymore.

Looks like the Raiders would make for some good mulch today

Spott 12-12-2021 03:07 PM

I’ll be spreading mulch on your playoff hopes and dreams.

FlaChief58 12-12-2021 03:34 PM

If you go steal a wood chipper, you can make your own mulch out of your faider gear

Baby Lee 12-12-2021 03:38 PM

I too would like to submit a witty observation on the fortuitous synchrony of extolling the joys of fertilizer and supporting the Raiders.

ETA - makin' sure R8R knows it's good-natured ribbing, at least from me. A semi-retired avocation of making people's yards look nice with expertise and equipment sounds quite idyllic. Have fun, bud.

Compost/Fertilizer blend would be appropriate

Raiders deserve everything they got coming to them.

I don't hate any other teams fans. I chose to be a Chiefs fan, because I lived in KC. My cousins live in Indianapolis. I should hate them because they are Colts fans. One of my best friend is from Denver, He, gasp, is a Donks fan. Don't. Won't ever hate him.

Now GBF HATES Faider fans. That works for him. I love and respect him. But I ain't gonna hate oh Faider fans. Well, not generally...

I raised my prices and still get plenty of customers, I make atleast 100 bucks over the cost of material usually 160 for the 60 dollar a load stuff and 150 for the 40 dollar a load poplar mulch pictured below, You aren't the first who told me I was too cheap my brother in law has been a contractor for 30 years and told me to raise my prices and he was right, now I get more middle class neighborhoods than lower rent districts.

Gotta say, one of the few things St. Louis gets spot on, throughout the metro area at lesser used park grounds, they collect street sweeping and machine shredded foilage for mulch, topsoil from things like tree removal or new sidewalks, and huge sectioned hardwood from felled trees, and in the spring whatever you can haul off is yours free.

I get about a yard each of mulch and topsoil yearly for my various gardens, and the only limit is my hauling capacity and how much I feel like shoveling.

The one nearest me has a spot about the size of a smallish supermarket parking lot, with the mulch piled about 15 feet high. That part isn't public, but they have a front loader that puts out about 10-foot tall single piles of the mulch and topsoil separately in an area that is full access, and about enough random hardwood to fill 3-4 parking spaces.

Wish I had the facilities to deal with the hardwood, . . . this year they had sections of trunk that were big around enough to make tabletops from. I'm talking 3+ feet around on the flat face and anywhere from 3-5 feet thick. They also have smaller pieces, and all of it would make awesome turnings or hardwood objects worth $100s apiece if you had the machinery to work it.
