Plowboys BBQ Nachos
At the game yesterday my son and I ate inside the stadium. We went to the Plowboys stand, which is probably around section 107, and we both ordered the BBQ Nachos. They have both pork and brisket. We went with the brisket. Gotta say it was pretty damn tasty. With all the talk about BBQ in KC, I had never heard of Plowboys. Didn't know what to expect, but pretty darn good.
There is a picture of their nachos here on their wedsite. http://www.plowboysbbq.com/ |
Lucky you didnt have to take a shit at the stadium wouldnt wish that on anyone

Speaking of Plowboys, I used their competition blend chicken rub on thighs I smoked yesterday and gotta say, it's damned good.
|
Yeah, big fan of their rubs, both bovine and yardbird. Have never had their BBQ though.

Been using their seasoning blends for years. Yardbird being the favorite. Not a fan of the meat they prepare though. Maybe I'm just partial to my own style using their blends.

I hope you kept it under 500 calories.

I don't really understand the combination of nachos and BBQ. But it looks tasty....
|
Is this Keto friendly?

Plowboys is near my office so had it a few times, pretty good. They seem to be pretty proud of their nachos judging how its listed on their limited menu.

Anyway, I got it from a guy at work, we'll call him Darrel. Older guy, one foot out the door into retirement so the company kept passing him around to different departments until he got enough time in to move on. As a result, he was just a complete time suck of an interaction. The type where you'd have to take a piss and on your way to the bathroom you'd see him off in the distance and play it off like you had something come up that took you in the opposite direction as you knew it was going to be no less than a 30 minute conversation about the same shit he told you about the last time he wrangled you. Turns out many of those time suck convos was about Plowboys rubs and how I had to try them. So we both owe it to Darrel who's mostly likely out there somewhere chatting someone up into a homicidal rage. |
There used to be big bear BBQ in the northland before he died. His BBQ were fantastic.
Big Fritos, pulled pork and Chile with cheese, onions and bbq sauce. |

It was horrible. Had to do the duck walk all the way to the bathroom. Plus it was cold so I was layered. Thought I was going to shit myself. I was there a while shaking my head thinking this is the most expensive shit ever. |
I ran into a fraternity brother at an Eagles vs Chiefs game many moons ago who was duck walking in quiet a hurry to the bathroom and game him a what's up on the belly,
Still get an annual bill for a new set of RedHead pants this time of year. |
Don't think i ever had Plowboys, seems like they closed the restaurants i remember seeing. But when i think of bad bbq around KC,i always think of Dickies, once was enough for me.

I don't **** with BBQ down here too much - we had a guy that did ribs real well nearby but no other places. I mean I will go to Sticky Fingers when over in the Carolinas - but yeah; Atlanta BBQ is very average at best, to the point I'll almost always choose another option.

If you haven't tried BBQ nachos, you are missing out on something special.

And it wasn't a massive amount either. Just a pretty decent serving. As far as stadium food goes, it was pretty darn good. |
Those must be the nachos my friend bought at the Bills game. They were damn good. I’ve ate at plowboys once and wasn’t impressed at all and had no intentions of going back. Maybe I will for some nachos, and try them sober. Or, more sober at least.

FYI, if you were a fan of Plowboys BBQ in Blue Springs or Kansas City, just a heads up that, effective August 14, they are officially closing down business.
Todd is going to move on and do other things after nine years in the restaurant business. He is not doing it because he has to. He’s doing it because he wants to. But if you’re a fan of Plowboys, you might want to get in there and get you some in the next couple of weeks before they’re done! Be sure to thank Todd Michael Johns and his staff for their service to our city! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah I didn't have a good experience for lunch at the Town Pavillion location. The sandwich was cold and had little smoke flavor almost like it was refrigerated the reheated. It was my only time and may have just been a bad day at the KC location. The rubs are good as said and nachos at a bbq place just don't sound right for me.
|
Ate there once and thought it was surprisingly bad. No offense to the guy.
|
That place sucked
