Sweeney just said on 610 there is optimism the Chiefs will have a wave of players come off the COVID list on Saturday.

The Chiefs this week protected Practice Squad player TE Nakia Griffin-Stewart, so I assume he will get the Covid call up if the Chiefs need him.

Chiefs signed Nakia Griffin-Stewart Nov 1 to PS, released him November 9, and then re-signed him to PS Nov 29. He is 6-5, 260 and played college football at Rutgers and Pitt.

Right before this came out the Chiefs were favored -7 and I got my bet in. The line just jumped to 8.5 and will probably climb back to 10.5 by game time.

Chiefs activate Chris Jones, Charvarius Ward from COVID-19 list

Charvarius Ward went on the COVID list on Monday, the same day as Travis Kelce. Tyreek Hill went on Tuesday.

Ward's removal from that list is encouraging for other cases.

With all the comings and goings, who is still on Covid reserve? I have:

Given that none of the players from the prior week who went on came off nearly as quickly, this at least provides some potential evidence that the new protocol is lax enough that others may also come off prior to the game.

And it also provides some basis for some of the more optimistic reports we were getting from the Chiefs side of player availability earlier in the week.

I would think most if not all had some symptoms or else they probably wouldn’t have all got caught in the testing in the first place.

Wouldn’t actually mind Tyreek resting for a week, even if he comes off list. We can win without him if we have Kelce back. Also, would be interesting to see teams deploy a different defensive strategy against Chiefs w/o Reek in there and the threat of him beating them over the top.

Mahomes may get several deep shot chances to Hardman, Robinson, Pringle that way.

Would be interesting to see how it played out if Hill can’t/doesn’t play.

It would also be nice to see these guys build some confidence/trust going into the playoffs.

Even without Hill, I would think teams continue to play with 2 deep safeties. If nothing else, KC has been turnover prone enough to justify that strategy. Force them to drive the field and see if they will make some mistakes.
