****OFFICIAL Chargers HYPE Megathread****
Now that they are a threat, I figure the Chargers need their own repository so we can track how great everyone thinks they are.
They were fortunate enough to win this prestigious award today! <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Congrats to the <a href="https://twitter.com/chargers?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@chargers</a> for being voted the social team of the year by our fans! 👏 <a href="https://t.co/M73B00Aueg">pic.twitter.com/M73B00Aueg</a></p>— FOX Sports: NFL (@NFLonFOX) <a href="https://twitter.com/NFLonFOX/status/1482085606285058050?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 14, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |

|
What is a social team?
Kind of odd since they have more fans from other teams in their stadium every game. |

Wait, they're staying home for the playoffs? That doesn't seem very social to me!

Head Coach is a Head Case
|
They are clearly winning the offseason so far
|
A hearty congratulations to next year’s prognosticated Super Bowl champions!

Chargers are ahead of the curve. |
How can this be? We have Jackson Mahomes, he's socialer than Chargers fans.

Congrats to the Chargers.

Every offseason it’s the same ****ing thing
|
I know the regular season is about to start because the chargers are the favorite to win the division. then around week 6 it becomes obvious they are in the process of shitting the bed.
it's my favorite time of year |
The same fall candy apple on a steek. Two bites, the apple is very green & goes into the trash

First year the Chargers won't be preseason Super Bowl Champ favorites in 22 years. Boy have the Chiefs gotten good!
|
Yeah, I was gonna say how this is the first off-season in many years where I haven't heard any crying about the Chargers getting a tiny bit of media praise.
This is a good omen. |
2 pages. ROFL

It used to be a thread for every article, soooo...
|
Boltman sounds like a really lame Mega Man boss

I guess, to be fair. There really is a lot smoke going on out there every summer

Chargers only giving up 3 points to the Titans on Sunday.
I know it's the Chargers but it's also the Titans. What am I missing?? |
Quote:
LAC defense can’t stop the run. Derrick Henry Just a guess. Haven’t seen the injury report yet |
Kenneth Murray looked like shit in that game. Not sure why CP was obsessed with him in that draft.
|
Staley is a clown that they should have fired. He's a DC that was handed really good defensive talent and his defense sucks. He's massively overrated.
|
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I’ve never seen a more obvious 9-8 team ever before. <br><br>We’re so back</p>— — (@chargerspfchang) <a href="https://twitter.com/chargerspfchang/status/1702049060302041225?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 13, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Chargers/Dolphins was pretty much the only entertaining game on last week. Well, unless you count the clown show that was Bills/Jets. But that's a different kind of entertaining.
|
That team if their defense can even be ok they can sneak into the playoffs.
Kellen Moore seems to have committed that they are going to run more, Josh Kelley finally looked like an NFL player giving Ekeler a lighter load..their OL actually run blocked pretty well. If they continue that aspect of what they showed they can win 10-11 games and get in. |
Herbert is anti-clutch.
|
Quote:
They lost that game because some genius thought singling up Tyreek a bunch of times was a good idea...newsflash it's not. |

While it is early, I think I can comfortably say that the Chargers are already playing for their lives this week vs MIN. MIN will also be playing for their lives.
They have the Cowboys and Chiefs coming up in the next month and could possibly be facing being 1-5 after the Chiefs beat them. I don't think they can climb out of a 1-5 hole. |

I love Brandon Staley. |

I am just stunned...I tell ya...stunned that the Chargers arent good. Flabbergasted! No way you could have predicted this!
|
So the offseason champs aren't doing so good when the games count? Inconceivable!
|
Quote:
Lucky for them, they have the Bears and Jets immediately after that stretch. If everything goes as you’d imagine, they’ll probably be looking at 5-3 before hitting the final stretch: DET @GB BAL @NE DEN @LV BUF @DEN @KC It’s a long season and things change. The Chargers are also a strange team. They’ll probably lose one or two you’d expect them to win and then turn around to beat a contender like the Ravens or Bills. I’d expect them to land around 10-7. |
Nobody, including www.chiefsplanet.com really cares about the Chargers. Media darlings for sure, but the whole LA experiment seems to have failed.

If they don't atleast go 2-2 the next 4, Staley and company are all getting fired. |
Watched highlights of the Chargers game this morning since I missed it all during the Chiefs game yesterday. A few takeaways:
1. Herbert looks good, but not seeing the downfield passing game that Kellen Moore was supposed to bring. Seems like the reason is they don't have time before the pass rush gets there. 2. No running game without Ekeler. I think what we saw last week with the Chargers running game looking great was probably more about the Dolphins defense. 3. Titans had some deep passes that were pretty well defended but WRs just made great plays. 4. Derwin James should have a fine coming his way for a cheap shot helmet to helmet against a defenseless WR. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/2Han62P2Cis?si=sltDl1Q_9smtZcUU" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

In case you missed it in the game today, Staley went for it on 4th down from their own 24-yard line while up 28-24 with a few minutes left in the game.
I really wish the Vikings were worth a shit and made him pay for that terrible decision. |
We’re lucky Choke Cousins didn’t win it for the Bikings, otherwise Staley shoukd have been summarily fired in the locker room after the game for yet another asinine decision. What a tool.

Quinten Johnston, come on down. |
Mike Williams cap hit is scheduled to be $32m next year. I’d imagine he took his last snap as a Charger yesterday.

Mike Williams out for the year, Ekeler injured, Derwin James with hamstring issues, Bosa will likely be injured soon... typical Chargers.

Good ****ing God, man. You have literal millions at your disposal and you let it get to the point there's a warrant out on you for a ****ing speeding ticket?!?
Edit: Holy dog shit, an online program and $300 fine. That's it. |
