Word of advice, guys.

Check Ticketmaster multiple times daily. Turn off the resale slider so you only see availability directly from the Chiefs.

They release tickets all the time, usually super low numbers early in the week and more later in the week that were returned by the visiting team.

Be prepared though, a friend showed me the face value pricing structure and it's steep.

I'm calling it now...

There won't be any upper level seats - but will be some in club and in the 123-124 sections, as well as between the 30's on the visitors side.

Gonna run between $400-$800 per.

Why Not? 01-24-2022 12:20 AM

Oh I'm there.

Coach 01-24-2022 12:21 AM

Maybe. Might see what's going on this weekend once it gets closer.

DaFace 01-24-2022 12:22 AM

Just bought flights. Tickets TBD, but I'm there.

There won't be a let down. The Chiefs are a well-oiled machine. It's going to come down to health, especially in the defensive secondary.

I brought the serious cold gear for this weekend and didn't use most of it. OTWP was saying how it felt warmer in the lower level against the Steelers and I now believe it... I took my coat off at one point and almost took off my sweatshirt towards the end of the game. I had a couple layers of socks on, but never needed gloves.

46 and sunny would be amazing.

Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 46.
Saturday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 30.
Sunday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 46.

OTWP is correct. I have sat in the nosebleeds and the LL, and I can confirm it. The nosebleeds, you're exposed to the elements. It's a miserable place to be if it's brutally cold.

The LL is built underground, so it's very difficult for the wind to get there. That, along with being closer to the action, are the reasons why I always get LL seats, price be damned.

DaFace 01-24-2022 10:33 AM

It's been a few years since I've been to a game, and certainly not to one that will be this packed. Anyone have any suggestions on hotel and getting to/from the airport and stadium? I'm thinking just doing Uber from the Missouri Welcome Center, but if anyone has suggestions, please let me know. And the hotels right by the stadium look to be overpriced and mediocre, but I could be convinced on those if others feel like it's a good experience.

wheeler08 01-24-2022 11:07 AM

I’ve got 2000+ Ahead of me in the Ticketmaster online que! Might just bite the bullet and use stub hub. Or if anyone has 2 tickets, hit me up. Wife is seriously thinking about us going from NW IN!

As above, recommended hotels or areas. Is power and light the place to
Be?

Marcellus 01-24-2022 11:08 AM

Ill be there, trying to figure out how much I want to spend on tickets. JFC they are steep right now.

The hotels by the stadium are both overpriced and mediocre but its worth being able to walk to and from the game.

Bang for your buck if you're in town for a couple days, I'd say downtown/Crown Center/Plaza areas. I just saw there's a Hampton Inn downtown, personally a fan of that chain.

I can probably give you a ride to/from the game, if not other CPers who are staying in whichever area you choose.... if not Lyft, which I'd recommend over Uber's price gouging during large events.

ChiTown 01-24-2022 11:58 AM

Wait it on the secondary market. I did just that for the 2020 AFC CG and got 3 tickets in Sec 122 for $450/ticket on like row 15.

2) Wasp
3) 13 seconds
4) Dee Ford game

Chances are we'll just be making it a quick trip (in late Saturday, flying back out right after the game), so I'm guessing we'll just find something along the route to/from MCI.

Appreciate the offer on the ride - I'll keep you posted on that front. Either way we'll probably not bother renting a car. It would cost us ~$200 plus the $60 for parking, so even stupidly expensive Uber rides would be a better option.

Agreed. I got 2 tickets in Sec 112 for $350/ticket on row 30 something for the 2020 AFC CG, and I got it on Friday, 2 days before the game.

Yep, Thurs/Fri is the sweet spot for secondary market (or later if you really don'tcare where you sit, but tickets start drying up), plus the Chiefs will randomly release tickets throughout the week.

BWillie 01-24-2022 12:07 PM

I'm not going to the game - but a tad off topic - is there any places that you can get a reservation or pay to get a reservation for the AFC Championship? The last couple years it is really difficult to find a place that has room unless you show up 4 hours early.

Agreed. 2 days before game day is the sweet spot, as you said. It's what I did when I got the Royals/Mets Game 1 of the 2015 WS tickets for $250 a ticket on LL in the left field.

The next day, those exact seats were going for $650.

Stayed at the Crossroads Hampton last time I came in and am staying there again. Its new, clean, and has a bunch of walkable options around.
