Mahomes lost this one 5 ways

Too many mistakes by the reaper dammit.

Sofa King 01-30-2022 05:12 PM

Played like complete ass this second half.

UK_Chief 01-30-2022 05:13 PM

Plop

petegz28 01-30-2022 05:13 PM

Yeah, I would say that he choked completely....sad....can't win them all but losing because of him is not usually the case

ShowtimeSBMVP 01-30-2022 05:13 PM

He shit the bed big time.

-King- 01-30-2022 05:13 PM

That was the worst quarterbacking I've seen from any QB in a half in a long time. Much less Mahomes.

FringeNC 01-30-2022 05:14 PM

Inexplicable play from Mahomes in the second half.

Sassy Squatch 01-30-2022 05:14 PM

Tackling the DT was the catalyst. No way he didn't **** himself up the rest of the game. Only explanation.

He was making stupid decisions going back to the last play of the 1st half

GloucesterChief 01-30-2022 05:15 PM

Left 3 points on the field before half. Gave Bengals life and then shit the bed in the 2nd. He was playing really indecisive.

Agreed. We can't have it both ways. Making excuses for his 2nd half performance is not something we should be doing. This team choked, starting with him.

That was the start of WTF play by Mahomes.

rabblerouser 01-30-2022 05:18 PM

Looked like he TRIED to give the game away.

SupDock 01-30-2022 05:18 PM

Light out in the 1st quarter and then disappeared.

SupDock 01-30-2022 05:19 PM

He had 3 very strange sacks in critical situations.

Shit play call.

He choked. Worst way to lose.

Can't believe it.

Red Dawg 01-30-2022 05:20 PM

Mahomes meltdown. He was awfully for two quarters.

Ok? That doesn't mean throw the ball to a RB who has no chance at a TD. Throw the ball away and kick the FG.

Danguardace 01-30-2022 05:20 PM

50 million ways

nealrm 01-30-2022 05:20 PM

That was the worst 3 quarters of chiefs offense this year. They just played terribly. The Chiefs deserved to lose this one.

Wisconsin_Chief 01-30-2022 05:20 PM

Total choke job from top to bottom. It's not as easy to win in this league as we've been making it look. The pressure finally got to them.

SupDock 01-30-2022 05:21 PM

His play was confusingly bad

xztop123 01-30-2022 05:21 PM

Mahomes should be sent to neurotrauma unit after the game. His drop off in play was like if you or I suddenly couldn’t walk or speak.

Superbowltrashcan 01-30-2022 05:22 PM

He blinked...

PattyFlakes 01-30-2022 05:22 PM

Didn’t look like Mahomes in the 2nd half at all.. now we get a nice long offseason with more talk of him being “broken”

KC Hawks 01-30-2022 05:22 PM

I've never seen a game where the offense went from awesome to complete atrocity with no real explanation.

Munson 01-30-2022 05:22 PM

He made some unusually bad mistakes on that last drive in regulation.

nealrm 01-30-2022 05:22 PM

We had the ball on the 2 twice and didn't score either time, not because of good defense but because of mistakes the offense made. Pityful, just pitiful.

Doesn't matter. If it isn't in the end zone you throw the ball away and kick the FG. Mahomes has to be smarter on that.

tredadda 01-30-2022 05:24 PM

Since going up 21-3, KC was outscored by the Bengals 24-3 counting OT. That's unacceptable. They didn't exactly face the 85 Bears defense here.

Jethopper 01-30-2022 05:24 PM

Total meltdown

Molitoth 01-30-2022 05:25 PM

This loss was on Mahomes, as much as I hate to say it... that second half he pissed his ****ing pants.

ThaVirus 01-30-2022 05:25 PM

He definitely choked.

Even still, we had a good shot at the end of regulation and I thought Andy made some terrible calls. We should have run one more time after they burned their final timeout.

If we'd have done that, we likely would have been looking at 3rd and goal from within the 5 yard line (if we didn't score on the run).

Gary Cooper 01-30-2022 05:25 PM

The game management at end of 4th quarter was awful. They must have instructed him to take a sack instead of throwing it away.

In hindsight, they should have ran their regular offense and forget the clock. They weren't prepared for that scenario.

Stryker 01-30-2022 05:27 PM

TAKE THE ****ING POINTS! They got GREEDY instead of taking the field goal!
What a STUPID, STUPID, STUPID mistake! GODDAMN IT!:mad::mad:

Mahomes also didn't have to run 10 yards back, do some pirouettes and then run out of bounds on 2 plays.

tredadda 01-30-2022 05:27 PM

What gets to me is the fact they could have ran the ball when they had first and goal near the end of the second half and then went cute and had to kick a game tying FG.

Valiant 01-30-2022 05:27 PM

Yeah, mahomes and the coaches gave this away.

Our defense still has a problem of toughness. Every time we catch the ball instant contact. Their guys run free and have five yard halos open. Our safeties are either shit or worse way to use them. Basically we play with 9 men of defense.

Mahomes needs to learn hopefully from this.

Do not resign tyrann.
Release Clark.
Draft defense
Replace beinemy.

DrunkBassGuitar 01-30-2022 05:28 PM

I'm actually not as mad or as upset as I would have been in the past

Hot take but I think he needed a choke job like this at home, I think he doesn't have a second half like this again. I think he comes back from this even better and it gives the whole offense a huge chip on their shoulder for next year

RunKC 01-30-2022 05:28 PM

Idk what adjustments the Bengals made on defense but every team will be looking at this

louie aguiar 01-30-2022 05:28 PM

That play at the end of the first seemed to take the confidence out of Mahomes and the offense

It's never about what the defense does when we fail on offense

DTVietnam 01-30-2022 05:29 PM

1. Sacks
2. D-rob
3. Int
4. Playing scared
5. Not scrambling
6. throwing in bounds with 5 seconds left
7. over throwing people
8. didnt see any energy
9. saw him sitting in the sideline didjnt see him rallying the troops
10. 1st and goal casnt get in the endzone

Mahomes will absolutely learn from this

Also agree with the last bit

HB is too expensive now

Deberg_1990 01-30-2022 05:30 PM

He’s a lot like Brett Favre at times. Gets overly confident.

FringeNC 01-30-2022 05:31 PM

I don't fault the play call in the first half. That's on Mahomes, but the play call to pass at the end of regulation on second down, THAT's the questionable play call.

In shock, whole offense in second half just inexplicable.

ChiefsLV 01-30-2022 05:31 PM

He went into broken Mahomes mode. We've seen it before

Red Dawg 01-30-2022 05:31 PM

Magic ran out. We will get more chances.

comochiefsfan 01-30-2022 05:31 PM

Mahomes is much more mentally fragile than I initially believed.

You saw it in the regular season when he lost his confidence and he lost it today after failing to score to end the half.

He needs to spend his offseason doing some soul searching.

I love the guy. But what an absolutely epic bed wetting.

DRM08 01-30-2022 05:31 PM

It was a bad chokejob for sure. Hopefully he learns from it.

This team needs another weapon on offense badly. Travis is turning 33 this year.

God I wish we drafted Tee Higgins instead of Clyde. He tore us up today

Chris Meck 01-30-2022 05:33 PM

We'll be back. This one stings.

Yep, ****ing up at the end of the first half and then the two drops to start the second somehow broke him.

tatorhog 01-30-2022 05:36 PM

The Fran Tarkenton shit didn’t do himself any favors.

I‘my not sure how he could do such a Jekyll and Hyde act, but when they showed Burrow on the sidelines in the second half, he just appeared to have a much more focused demeanor. This was a game thatwasnt hard to win if we didn’t **** ourselves.

siberian khatru 01-30-2022 05:36 PM

I don’t know how he plays maybe his greatest game from start to finish against a good D and then a week later shits the bed in the second half against a mediocre D. He didn’t need to be Superman, just be efficient and methodical.

So bizarre, so frustrating.

Not that impressed with Burrow

Strikes me as a high level game manager

Remember the "almost" pick-6 Mahomes threw in OT? That would have been the perfect ending to his performance in this game.

jM22 01-30-2022 05:37 PM

agree. mahomes mistakes. Reid crap n playcalling, D toughness and coach adaptability as well. Good thing I'm not into nfl like i used to be, as my wife really likes our new furniture. gonna try to get work done and drink some beer. maybe

NEOM 01-30-2022 05:38 PM

Chiefs fans need to understand that the gap between Mahomes and other QBs like Allen, Burrow isn’t that huge, it is small and fans tend to forget that Mahomes had several games in which he went to full shit mode but fortunately the luck was on his side.

Deberg_1990 01-30-2022 05:38 PM

Signs were there all season. Chiefs only beat the bad to mediocre teams. Could never beat the contenders. And barely beat the contender last week. I’ll bet Bills fans are pissed now.

I speculate the Bills OT took a lot out of us, especially emotionally.

BossChief 01-30-2022 05:39 PM

He played the second half like Brittany was kidnapped by the mob and he had to throw the game.

SupDock 01-30-2022 05:39 PM

He definitely did enter his broken mode. Near interceptions, bad sacks, fumbles.

We are not in the playoffs without him but 2nd half Mahomes was mid-season Mahomes.

Eager to see the all-22 footage.

Did Mahomes miss open options? Were the guys not open?

If guys weren’t open, then they will be addressed this off-season with better talent.

KC Hawks 01-30-2022 05:41 PM

Was Kelce open on that last drive on 3rd and goal???

Yes. Giving away at least a 50% chance for a SB victory. Tough to swallow.

Mahomes didn't get any of the blame (rightly) for the SB loss last year, but he will for this loss, that's for sure. Did he quit taking what the D was giving him and wanted the big play? I don't know.

Mecca 01-30-2022 05:42 PM

Dude looked like he forgot how to play..then perfect drive that doesn't result in a TD...

If there was ever a game that looked like a script as the plucky underdog slays Goliath...

Burrow made some great scramble plays to convert first downs instead of getting sacked. I would say he’s more than a game manager.

Chiefaholic 01-30-2022 05:44 PM

If you look back a couple seasons back, Mahomes was all over the sidelines hyping up the guys around him. If he was on the bench, he was with a coach looking at the I-Pad looking for a weakness for the opponent. Now..... He's just sitting there all by himself. Where the hell is Hill, Kelce, Pringle, etc....? This is just my impression and I could very well be wrong. But, he just doesn't appear to have that "hunger" any more to push himself or his teammates to their limits.

BossChief 01-30-2022 05:44 PM

McKinnon was on fire and was yanked. Kinda pissed me off.

Agreed. I'm not sure what our guys were doing on that drive. Hardman took one out of bounds, McKinnon came close, and Mahomes did as well.

Mahomes was shitting his pants the entire second half. I think Andy should have relieved some pressure there by calling a run on 2nd and goal. I think he was hoping to catch the Bengals sleeping for an easy TD.
