One sack
Yes, Mahomes was awful in the 2nd half, but we've got a lot of money tied up in that defensive line. Pretty bad performance against a joke of an o line.
|
And it came from a late season acquisition. Jones, Clark and Reed should be ashamed.
|
Jones had to bring Burrow down in the two opportunities he had. Those were game swinging misses.
|
Did you Expect something different they weren’t getting sacks in the regular season
|
Jones still has 0 sacks in the playoffs. Clark is a $25M black hole of wasted money. Nowhere near enough pass rush against these guys in 2 games each: Burrow, Allen, Herbert.
|
What difference does defense make?
|
Same thing happened in the first game against the Bengals; their bottom tier offensive line had little trouble protecting Burrow from our expensive defensive line. Even worse was twice Jones had Burrow sacked and let him get away for critical 3rd down conversions. This team has a lot of expensive veteran players that seem to disappear at times.

**** Frank "gun runner" Clark in the ass. Bye worthless ****.
|
Burrow had a pretty clean jersey.
Really poor that he got sacked 9 times last week and we got one. |
Yes, obviously some housecleaning is in order on the d-line.

Ingram needs to be re-signed, Reed and Clark can’t be off this team fast enough. Utterly useless tits.

I know I’m sick of watching Chris Jones lose his grip on Burrow. Work on that grip strength dude.

Definitely needed more pressure.

Frank Clark needs to just clean out his locker tonight and never come near the building again. |
We lost this game on offense but still made some pretty ugly plays on defense. Chris Jones inability to finish sacks mirrors the Chiefs ability to finish opponents.
As great as the team is at coming back from deficits they're just as good at blowing leads. Whether they're making a big comeback or blowing a sizable lead, they're not playing their best football for 4 quarters. |
Jones is the new D Bowe.
All hype, no execution. He was ass. |
No slander should go Jones way. Tell me why our scheme had just him chasing Burrow and no one else even close....no wonder he was gassed

It's just nobody but Jones and Ingram could ever win their one-on-ones. |
The OL vs DL match up favored us by far yet Cincy made adjustments in the second half and got sacks on Pat while Chris Jones was still the one chasing Burrow around........by his damn self smh
|
Burrow played like a goddamn superhero.

On paper the front seven is great. I can't figure out why the pass rush completely disappears on a frequent basis. I think a pass rusher or receiver is our biggest priority in the offseason.

Ingram being so much better than anyone but Jones given he was cast off as trash from Pittsburgh suggests that improving the D-line shouldn't be too hard.

I think the diffence is how we rushed versus how they rushed. We left Burrow gaping holes to escape to-all game. In the second half they had someone in the spot Mahomes was escaping to. Which is probably why he looked so bad
That's coaching |

Aaron Donald is going to kill Burrow.

And while Chris did play the run reasonably well, he had Burrow in his sights, heck in his grasp multiple times today and failed to record a single sack, and just 3 tackles total. Now other defenders missed Burrow as well, but Jones had the most chances and Clark is paying him a metric ton of money to be that elite pass rusher first and foremost. My point is that Chris needs to work on his technique. He's missing too many sacks when the guy is literally between his hands. |
You have to give Burrow some credit for being elusive. And give Chris Jones some slack cause it seemed like he was the only one who could touch the mfer
|
We have I think the 2nd most money tied up on the DL...
There are probably 15+ DL's that are more productive, and certainly more intimidating. Spags' D's have been bipolar his whole career. Even though the defense, isn't the only reason we lost today, I think you have to change the coordinator. |

I think that really highlights what is wrong. Your highest paid players on the Defense (and it's a lot) were mostly invisible when in a huge game. |
Jones is too emotional gets beat out of plays and he is lazy
|
Despite having only 1 sack, Joe Burrow was 21-36 for 233 yards, 2 Tds and 1 pick in regulation. They scored 24 points, with one TDdrive being on a short field after the 1st turnover. We would have all taken that this morning, and would have expected to win by 2 TDS if this was box score for Burrow. The Defense played more than good enough, the offense needed to score more than 3 points in the 2nd half, period.

The offense on the other hand, spent their six 2nd-half drives doing this: PUNT PUNT INT PUNT PUNT FG |

I think after scoring 42 the last 2 games it's ok for the Offense to be a bit off against great coverage.
Sometimes the Defense should actually earn their contracts in the playoffs? |

While he was playing catch and release with Burrows, I felt like I was getting kicked in the nut sack. Does that count as any kind of sack?

KC defense has recorded 20 postseason sacks since Spags became DC. Frank Clark leads the team with 8 sacks as a Chief. 8 playoff games, 8 sacks. |

Bad D play today. But we should’ve run the ball more, they were daring us to. |

Again for the people wanting to send Spags to the Sahara desert alone with half a bottle of water….the plan was not the problem. It was execution.
It’s not Spags fault the players didn’t bring Burrow down. He put them in a position to do so and they didn’t. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">"Burrow was under pressure on 40.5% of his dropbacks per PFF, but only took one sack. Per ESPN, Bengals only had a 45% PBWR on the day. Chiefs were able to create pressure without blitzing, sending an extra rusher on just 16.7% of Burrow’s dropbacks"...
