How is everyone feeling today?
How is everyone feeling today? I am feeling alright, I am over the loss so let's focus on free agency and the draft and try to get back to the Superbowl next year
|
Feeling better now
|
yep.
|
Terrible.
Opportunities like that don't come along as often as we've made it seem. 21-3 lead at home in the AFCCG and you blow it. Just pathetic. |
Taking turns on some whore, grab a number

If a loss by a sports team that you had absolutely nothing to do with is affecting your life almost 24 hours after the fact, you really need to evaluate what else is wrong with your life.

I was over the Super Bowl last year almost immediately because we got our ass kicked by a superior team. We never had a chance to win that game. There was no point being upset. This? It was all in front of us. 21-3 lead at home with a decent at best NFC team awaiting us, and we choked. And the worst part is that it wasn't our defense or o-line that choked. It was Mahomes. This one just makes me sick. |

But that still doesn't mean that I can't still be upset. I'm not running around the office crying. But I'm not in a fantastic mood either. |
|
Pretty ****ing bad, bro. We're at the tail end of the easy years of Mahomes window and we've only accomplished 1 championship after 4 years. Mahomes and co. rolling over and agonizingly dying for an entire half en route to another historic collapse in the history of both Reid and the Chiefs in general was something I'd NEVER thought I'd see with this current administration, but here we are.
|
Feel like I got checked for worms, followed with an enema, and now on a two week pumpkin seed diet.

We got to see Patrick Mahomes play in 20 games this year instead of only 17. That's a damn good season of football right there fellas. We get to see him play another decade. This season was like a show that ends its season on a shitty cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what happens next. |
Still bummed at the lost opportunity.
You can't expect the Super Bowl every year. But most of the time it's because you lose in the first round of the playoffs, or don't make the playoffs at all. When you're up 21-3 in the championship game, at home, with a postseason-veteran team, you can't blow that opportunity. You just can't. Those don't come around often at all. That's gonna stick in my craw a long time. |
Avoiding most sports media today. With no Chiefs to obsess over for awhile, gonna try to channel my energy towards improving health and getting some small projects completed around the house that I've been avoiding.
|
Once I saw some of them partying on IG I realized it's dumb to be more upset
|
Not feeling great. The AFC gets tougher going forward. Baltimore had a down year due to injuries. Rodgers going to Denver isn’t going to hurt them. Justin Herbert is due to make a run. The Titans will be a challenge. Pittsburgh with an adequate quarterback will be a contender. Obviously the Bills are going to continue to be tough. Almost forgot to mention the team at just beat us. The Bengals roster isn’t even complete. They have major flaws on their roster and they’re in the Super Bowl. This was a huge missed opportunity for KC. Hopefully they come back with a chip on their shoulder next season, but that chip needs to stay there throughout the entire postseason. Need to let Mathieu walk, need to get rid of Frank Clark, need to find some free agent help (maybe Jerry Hughes or Ryan Kerrigan). Need to draft a couple of safeties). Need to run the football next year. Having a tough time with this one.

Hungover. Whiskey got me good.
Thinking a dry February sounds like a plan Sure sucks to choke that game away. But I put them at 9-8 in that midseason poll so they did a little bit better. Like wazu said I’m gonna have some time to be more productive so that’s good |
Not good. This was my one chance at happiness.
|
Pretty dang good.
The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades, I gotta wear shades. |
Let's put it this way.
Damn glad we didn't play the Titans. They would've embarrassed us. Bad. |
Want Reid gone to be honest. You all will probably down vote me but pissed me off yesterday.
|
Sucks that we missed an opportunity. I'll be rooting for the Bengals to get a SB win in two weeks.
The QB situation in the AFC will suck for the next 10+ years..... Mahomes, Burrow, Allen |

My entire personality and identity is built around the Chiefs. I have no job. No girlfriend. No money. My entire life is Chiefs. I don't know what to do now. I'm gutted. Going to be 6 months of depression until the season starts again. |

Reid is a very good coach. You will always win 10+ games with him and Mahomes. But sometimes things get stale and that may be where we are at right now? Can't say we should want him gone, but if he retired, I think it would be interesting. |

I'm not letting this get me down I have enough personal issues to do that but I'm still elated or stoked & still in awe and reliving in my head Super Bowl LIV
and the victory parade I took my daughter too. Surrounded by 9000,000 fans like me celebrating and having fun I met one of the coolest dudes on the planet a rock star Kurt Cobain to hang out with and make it an experience of a life time. Had a blast getting to spent time with my daughter made it most special. So I'm going take that victory and celebrate it as if we just won it for life. Len Dawson once said on winning a Super Bowl "Bragging rights for life" We will be back in it and be in contention every year with Patrick Mahomes II. He needs a supporting cast to win it all but we have done it and with Brophis Victor he has done remarkable things in getting players and getting rid of players to better our team. One issue is picking at the back end of every round the good ones will be taken so we have to work the draft and free agency. I think we need get younger and faster on defense and we will be in business for a long time as long as our offensive line can be bullies on the defensive side. Games are still won and lost in the trenches even if you have the best quarterback in the world. |
We've hosted 4 AFCCG's in a row. We won a Super Bowl and appeared in another. The team we just lost to has never won one and hasn't been to one in 30 years, and all of their fans I ran into were super cool.
While the loss stings, and I'm disappointed in the way it went down, we're in the best era of Chiefs football we'll ever see. I enjoyed getting to the game and seeing some of you folks despite the result. So overall, it's really not bad. A bit of a bummer, but as long as we have Mahomes, we're in the discussion. That's all teams that don't cheat their way to championships can really hope for. |

It’s just a game but hurting today.
|
Feeling good, I wish they would have won but they did not. Always next year. Since Ciny beat us I will be rooting for them to win.
|
I'm over it. They didn't go to the SB for 50 years and they've made it 2 out of the last 3. We've got a great QB locked up for the most of a decade and they've hosted the AFCCG 4 years in a row. It could be a helluva lot worse.
|
The least painful playoff loss in my life.
I'm disappointed of course. I'm a little down. But this one didn't hurt like the others. With Mahomes, Reid, Veach etc i have the confidence we'll be in this every year. Every playoff game doesn't feel like our last chance to get a SB ring like it did pre-Mahomes. I have no hard feelings with Bengals fans either. And hats off to the Bengals. They threw the goddamn kitchen sink at Mahomes in that 2nd half and forced the Chiefs into the only bad half of football our boys had all post season. |
I feel like a huge wasted opportunity and to be up 21-3 and allow another epic comeback in the playoffs very frustrating.
|
Life is great!
|
I'm good. Moving on, and I'm kind of glad to have Sundays back going forward. I don't have any gripes about the game, and we simply lost. It happens.
I must say, though, that I'm really glad that we won the Super Bowl in 2019. Can you imagine how miserable it would have been if we had lost the AFCCG in 2018 on a call from tom brady's girlfriend, lost the SB in 2019, lost the SB in 2020 on injuries and brady officiating, and lost in 2021 after blowing a lead? I would really feel like we were cursed. |
Take it for what it is and just enjoy the show....Not getting emotionally invested in this shit going forward.
|
When it is your turn, you will win, when it is not, you won't

Pretty terrible.
With the only one team getting the 1st round bye, it's going to be really difficult to get that every year. It's possible we won't see another Mahomes Super Bowl until post Kelce-Hill and it will be an all new crew next time. It's hard as hell to make these things - and now we have 3 great young QBs all in the AFC. One in our own division. You are always a product of your competition. The Patriots had the benefit of playing in one of the worst divisions in football for years. We are not going to get that same luxury. |
Here I sit all broken hearted
Tried to shit but only farted. I'm not broken hearted. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. The good news is I've been a Chiefs fan long enough my expectation is still that they'll let me down due to past trauma. They've been my bad girlfriend for a long time, and even though they've been pretty loyal the last couple of years, they were due to get drunk and suck a dick. |

Sucks that Andy keeps blowing huge leads in the playoffs but at least him and Pat got us 1. The rest is just icing. We will get a few more shots at a 2nd.
|
Can't lie, this ones gonna linger for a while
Its not so much that we lost, its how we lost... when you're up 21-3 and its looking like you're about to blow them out, only to piss it all away like that at home? Yeah, that sucks pretty hard |
Another wasted superbowl opportunity. You never know if you will ever get back. Look at Russ and A Rod for reference

Get a job. Get some money. Use said money to take a girl on a date. Profit. I can't imagine having my happiness/emotional state tied to the Kansas City Chiefs. I learned waaaaaaay back when I was 16 and Joe got knocked out of the AFCCG with 13:23 left in the 3rd quarter that investing too much on watching a sport on TV simply wasn't smart. The Chiefs not going to the Superbowl depressed me for a long time. As a dumb kid who didn't know any better. Time to grow up man. Get some pussy for Christ's sake. |

It's up for debate, did Chris Jones suck that bad, or did Joe Cool just want it more. The guy made the plays to bring his team back against a juggernaut at Arrowhead. Bengals fans have been through TERRIBLE years under Mike Brown. I hope Joe delivers for them. They deserve it supporting that team how they have. We got to see Mahomes play 20 games Instead of just 17. Any way you slice it, that's a damn good season. |

I'm off sports programming for a good 2 months. I don't want to be reminded how we did all that against Buffalo to literally give the Bengals an AFC championship. Like some of you has said it's not that we lost....it's how we lost that gets me. I would have rather lost against the Bills last week |
Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert.
For years to come. Who does the NFC have? Retiring Brady, soon to be retiring Rodgers. A choking 29-year old Dak. Aging Russell Wilson. The best thing the NFC has is that midget Kyler Murray. It ain't gonna get any easier. |

I, for one, am looking forward to a lot of video games.
We're still going to build that dynasty. |
I feel like I had 1st and Goal at the 5-yard-line and couldn't close the deal.

I just don't jive with this post. Last couple years we were the ones making epic comebacks of the ages. Just to expect us to go out and win every game and every Super Bowl is just unrealistic. No other quarterback has won every game and every Super Bowl. Tom Brady cheated to get his and that franchise from Kraft cheaters. Other teams are paid to win too and they have smart coaches that just got their players to do the right things and we fell short of what it takes but we stayed competitive to the end. ****ing Josh Allen and Joe Burrow are going be in the playoffs fighting us every year and we will have more battles we just got to be prepared and healthy to go on. |

Yep, not much to add here. Have enough going on in my personal life that this is just a small bump in the road.
Mostly, it wasn't that they lost, it was how they lost. I'm going with Patrick was injured on some hit to his head because he sure looked like his brains were scrambled. I've got my Sundays back and it's time to get working on those projects that I've been using football as an excuse to ignore. Just like last year when the Chiefs lost in the SB, not interested in football until next year. I'm hoping the Royals play this year because I like having games on as background noise... |
Gut punch
First time poster here. This game still feels like an absolute gut punch, and it made me question everything that Mahomes is capable of. Per ESPN, his total QBR half splits were 98/1.4. He had the worst second half I have ever seen from a quarterback in the playoffs, and I honestly question spending 500 million on him and locking him in for 10 years. This is the worst loss I can ever recall as a sports fan, especially with the rest of the football gladly cheering it on. This is the end of any alleged dynasty and the team needs to make drastic changes. Time to shuffle EB off to college ball and push Spags into retirement. Let’s hire Fangio for DC, and elevate Kafka. Let Clark walk, get rid of Dirty Dan and Niemann, spend heavy in the draft on defense and pick up some WRs in FA. Mahomes needs to do some serious soul searching to figure out why he had the single worst choke in playoff history and find ways to never repeat it again. I am disgusted and ashamed and despondent. When does next season start already?

During the game it was rough. After the game, I moved on. Going to 4 championship games is awesome. I look forward to who we keep and add to the roster.
The upside is now my super bowl weekend is open and I will spend it traveling in our new off grid van. Seems like a good use of time! |
Disappointed, but nothing like I did after any of the pre Reid playoff losses. Those felt like either the window slamming shut or we had no business even being there as we were clearly outmatched. As long as they chiefs have Reid and Mahomes I feel they'll be in the hunt almost every year. Hunt always wanted a team that modeled the Steelers organization who competes every year and we have that now.
|
Still feeling terrible. This is not a veteran juggernaut that we lost to. Just couldn't get out of our own way.
Feels like all the playoff swagger earned over the last few seasons vanished in one game and will have to be built all over again. |
Well....chocolate cake with ultimate frosting is off the SB menu now.
|
It's true, fans will look back at 2021-22 as one that got away in an ugly way.
But so what, it's sports, and no, sports is not life. Gotta learn to let go of what you can't control. Beautiful morning where I am! |

Winning that Super Bowl in 2019 was huge. HUGE. It means we're not chasing that anymore. |
I don't really let these losses get to me... they did it to themselves, which sure as hell beats losing to the refs or losing to some complete shit team.
2nd half was obviously very frustrating, yet they still had every opportunity to make it to their 3rd consecutive Super Bowl, even with Mahomes looking lost down the stretch... and a playoff run looked like a pipe dream in October. |
feeling about the same as after the SB last year. Disappointed in the effort.
This one is on us, not the refs. disappointed.. Maybe next year. |
Had Kelce open for the TD to go to the Super Bowl

Maybe its just me, but this loss didnt hit me as hard as years past. It wasnt the pain of the no punt game, or the indy come back. It was just a team thats been flat on and off all year going flat when it mattered most. Somethings wrong emotionally in that locker room. And if they didnt care to rally i have a hard time being that upset about it.

They had a chance to score a TD before the half. They failed.
They had the ball and a chance to go to the Super Bowl with a TD on the final drive of the game. They failed. They won the coin toss and had a chance to score a TD to go to the Super Bowl in overtime. They failed. They failed multiple times in key situations. |
