More information on Kenobi from MSW (fourth post in the last days):

*The first episodes are about Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa and the Inquisitors.

*Darth Vader appears in episodes 3, 4, 5, and 6. Vader’s role is major.

*Darth Vader is flipping and kicking, like Rouge One Vader but angrier. He's out for blood

*Tom O’Connell plays a Zabrak Jedi, like Darth Maul but without the face tattoos, like Eeth Koth. It isn’t clear if he’s a surviving Jedi or it's flashbacks.

*There are new and unknown Jedi in this series

*Tom O’Connell also does stunts for Vader, playing a Mandalorian in Mando s3, and does stunts for Mandalorians.

MSW: Kenobi filmed in cave sets. Kenobi appears to have to hunt for food and sleep on a cave floor. Seems that he struggles with PTSD and the harsh life of the desert. Seems that after Kenobi dropped Luke he is on his own and Bail Organa doesn't send him money. In 10 years Kenobi lives in caves and watches over Luke Skywalker.

Hayden is used for scenes of Vader in the bacta tank, unmasked scenes and flashbacks.

There will be multiple clone wars flashbacks.

"The Grand Inquisitor, played by Rupert Friend, is amusingly shocked by the brutality of Moses Ingram’s character as she cut off the hands of a Tatooine citizen. One source said she was called something like “the 3rd Sister.”

These inquisitors are brutal in the series. The maiming mentioned above was just one example of their brutality. These lapdogs of the Sith are going to set the mood of the series. There is always a bit of paranoia about being watched because of what is at stake. These killers cannot find Luke or Leia or all is lost."

Obi-Wan Kenobi is dispatched to a planet on a rescue mission. The captive prisoner is very important “to the cause” and Kenobi has to save said person from the Inquisitor’s clutches. The main inquisitor holding the prisoner was performed by Moses Ingram in these sequences. The success of this mission is most likely what springs Vader forward into action.

The castle and the consequence

As matters escalate from the trouble Kenobi is causing, we see Mustafar again. Darth Vader rises from his throne and hurriedly walks to his ship’s hanger to intercept his old master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Based on reference material, it appears as if Vader is using his TIE Advanced to depart the castle. It wasn’t actually built on set but it shares certain characteristics with the Inquisitor ships.

The fighter’s trunks

Obi-Wan is wearing his clothes from Revenge of the Sith for the fight or damn near close enough. The white tunic, no robe. His white tunic is more worse for wear now. He looks a little older, a little more tattered. Like an aging gunslinger, his swagger remains the same as it ever was. When Kenobi walks out onto the dirt field, this is the guy that said Sith Lords are his “specialty.”

*There are mounds and piles of dirt and sand around this set and blue screens.

Darth Vader steps onto the dirt ground. The costume, if I had to guess is pretty much identical to the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story costume. I would almost say the chest plate is the same for sure, a little brighter. However, lighting conditions and such made it hard to get a good read on the lens color used for Darth Vader in the fight.

Obi-Wan realizes exactly who the monster in the suit is. Kenobi’s resolve is strong and his face is so focused on the threat ahead. Darth Vader walks towards Kenobi ready to engage him. That’s when Obi-Wan Kenobi force pushes Darth Vader what looked like 50ft maybe in total. Hadouken! Vader is launched into the air as he hits what appears to be a rock wall. Like a Terminator talking a powerful hit, Vader slowly gets up advances towards his moment of revenge!

The shoot and assumptions

The sets are full of blue screens and partial sets. The ground and rock formation of the duel honestly looked a lot like Jedha in the background. But such is Star Wars, it could be Geonosis or a new place on Tatooine. However, Tatooine is the least likely based on look and having seen other Tatooine stuff from the series. As always, we are running up against certain base environments sharing similar characteristics. The set reminded me of Vasquez rocks in Southern California to some extent.

Vader was thrown on wires into a blue screen for the Force push moment. Atmospheric effects and lower set pieces make it appear to be a rock wall. I thought it was a important to note this to give as much disclosure as possible while still protecting my sources.

It’s probably Jedha. But watch it be Tatooine because why wouldn’t it be?

My sources say this battle between Kenobi and Darth Vader took two weeks to shoot and is massive. The shoot took place in August of 2021. Hayden Christensen was not in the suit for these fight sequences from the shoot in August based around the duel. That’s not to say he’s not in the suit, he is. But there’s a few people bringing Vader to the screen in the suit for these moments and the lightsaber fighting appears to be handled by stunt performers. That’s not to say Hayden doesn’t do anything, just that I know this to be the case from speaking to you people in the production.

According to an exclusive new report from StarWarsNewsNet, Leia Organa is set to be captured and held prisoner in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series. NewsNet wrote, “We’ve learned that the princess managed to get herself into trouble, even at this young age. From what we’ve heard, it appears that the princess is being held prisoner in a Cantina-like establishment where we will see a healthy mixture of new and familiar creatures. Of course, Obi-Wan’s task will be to rescue the princess. With a young Leia’s significant involvement in the series, we know that her adopted parents will also play a role.”

The news of Leia’s capture follows a report from Cinelinx last year where they revealed Leia Organa’s involvement in the series, and specified that Leia would be the reason Kenobi ventures off world, and that ten year old Leia would be played by Birdbox star Viviene Lyra Blair. These are reports that I recently backed up here.

Following StarWarsNewsNet’s report, MakingStarWars reported that the Grand Inquisitor masterminds the plan to abduct Leia due to Obi-Wan Kenobi’s connection to Bail Organa, hoping the Jedi master will take the bait. The panicked Bail Organa travels to Tatooine and appears in Obi-Wan’s cave asking him for help.

As you’d assume, Kenobi agrees to help Bail and travels to unknown world described only as “space Reno” via public transport, where he meets Kumail Nanjiani’s character who points Obi-Wan in the direction of a spice-den where young Leia is being held captive.

Leia being held prisoner in my opinion is a strong enough reason for Obi-Wan to finally venture from his exile of Tatooine, and hopeful it’s one that fans can buy into as a large section of the fanbase believes Kenobi should never venture from Tatooine, and prioritising the safety of Luke Skywalker.

"Kenobi is continually having fastbacks [sic] to his time with Anakin Skywalker"

While on a trip away from the homestead, with Beru, "Luke is looking at some toys and is denied getting what he wants. He is not a spoiled kid. Luke and Beru continue with their day and Luke is seemingly just happy to be off the farm for a time. These Luke sequences are said to be intercut with Leia who has many interesting things in her room on Alderaan, including droids to assist her with whatever she has going on that day."

Obi-Wan has what some sources have said is a “T-16 Skyhopper toy” and others have said is a “starship toy of some kind.” He asks Owen if he can give it to the boy

Owen refuses. He sees that danger has come to Tatooine firsthand [talking about the Inquisitors?] and blames Kenobi. Luke "needs safety, not toys."

"Dejected, Obi-Wan Kenobi returns to the wilderness more alone than ever. Obi-Wan wants to connect with Luke and he cannot. Owen is not exactly wrong and he knows this."
