You just couldn’t resist another L huh?

Rumor: Cheetah had originally requested $69 million guaranteed, because, uh, you know, but his hate for EB cost the Chiefs an extra mil.
**** EB! :cuss: |
Intentionally posting misleading threads/thread titles in The Lounge is ban-worthy, correct?

There is absolutely no truth to this whatsoever.
It’s not even a good shot at connecting the dots. When his deal gets signed, it will be for more than 25m per. |
Somebody posted last night that Tony Pauline said Tyreek was getting an extension. They didn't post a tweet or anything, just that Pauline said it.
|
I don't have a huge issue with this thread. Rumors aren't really a big deal (especially in the offseason) as long as we treat them as such. If nothing else, it's interesting to think about what IS a reasonable contract.
This seems high to me, but the cap is going up a lot, so it's not insane. |

Source: Chiefs and Tyreek Hill's agent Drew Rosenhaus have engaged in positive talks on a possible extension for the WR #chiefskingdom @610SportsKC

I believe.

4/85 would be a solid deal for KC, honestly. We'll see if it's true given the sources. ;)

Bob's always saying vague ass shit that anyone could pull out of their ass with any knowledge of the team.

That actually seems like a pretty reasonable deal, if true.
Tyreek apparently not looking to break the bank on his next contract. Good for the Chiefs . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . if true. |
Also if clay is endorsing this guy, then Im not liking the odds of this happening. Dammit

I'm betting the deal is closer to 4 years $100 mil. I've seen Davante Adams projected to get $25-$27 mil per year. Since Tyreek got ****ed last go around, then he's not going to take some team friendly deal.

I have corroborated this information with a back channel source.

Reek may very well get a contract extension, but you have zero inside information and you need to get hit by a bus. |

THAT DUDE NEEDS TO CHILL OUT
|
Not sure how anyone can buy what's being sold here after the last debacle.
|
We have Clay to thank for this extension. Many wanted reek out of here but Clay was able to expose the fake news.
|
4/85 seems like a bargain nowadays.

How a contract extension between Reek and Veach caused a season long rift??

No way in hell he’s accepting a deal for Tyreek that’s 20% lower than market value. If an extension is for 4 years, it’s going to be for 105-115m…but I can see Tyreek taking 4-100 flat if the guarantees are way above average. |
Hope it happens we need to get him and especially our OBJ handled. Leaves the possibility of tagging Badger available.

We may pay a lot for him but his last contract was an absolute steal.
|
I prefer to tag OBJ instead of HB.
It likely means a bigger payday next year, but I'd rather we get a bigger sample size of success before committing a huge amount to our 2nd most important position. |
Quote:

Mathieu isn’t getting tagged. I remember seeing somewhere that it would be an exorbitant amount.
Let me see if I can find it. |
Tyrann is as good as gone. They aren’t tagging him even if they get a deal done with Brown before the deadline.
|
Gotta agree, there's zero chance HB gets tagged.
They're going to tag Brown almost certainly, unless by some miracle they get a deal done over the weekend. |
Sauces say Reek was gonna ask for 4/45 but since Clay wasn't banned from CP he bumped it to 4/85 for shit talkin his boy EB

Browns went to the last 3 probowls with half that time playing RT and half at LT. He vastly improved as the year went on as a LT. He doesn’t have injury concerns. Hes young. He’s got a HOF pedigree. **** the noise…give him the appropriate contract and move on to other positions. |

While I don't buy it, if that's indeed something Hill's willing to do, you take that shit and RUN. If for no other reason than you've cut Brown's legs out from under him in contract negotiations. Now the threat of Hill on the tag evaporates so you've got Brown for this year at $14 millionish and next year at $18 millionish for a total of $32 million over the next two years. If I can lock my LT in for 2 years at $16 million per and another 3 years at $23 million/per after that, it gives me 5 years, $101 million. It's more than Ronnie Stanley got so that should satisfy Brown and it's largely a sane figure. It uses the leverage from the tags to its fullest effect. |

It's not been Steinberg's crew manipulating information to ensure Mahomes lands with Reid or anything, but it's been awfully cozy. No, I don't think Rosenhaus signs off on this deal, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him come in under market. Moreover, Rosenhaus isn't QUITE the behemoth he was in the Terrell Owens days. CAA is the big swinging dick right now with Condon and Dogra. Those are really the guys that can run your ass over the coals. |
After that bullshit EB story, you should probably sit out the next couple plays.

Like others, I’m skeptical on these numbers, 4/85 seems cheap when this is his in my prime deal. And he has Drew as an agent. Drew would not let him sign that deal.
