Why?

I have not seen a CB as bad as him play as much as he did in a Chiefs uniform in years.

Because he’s cheap and he’s depth.

The Chiefs have 2 of their top 4 corners set to become free agents. This should surprise nobody.

Give him a chance.

The Chiefs coaching staff have coached up lesser CB’s to be solid contributors.

He was a first round pick at one point for a reason.

He’s cheap and depth at this point, but could develop into more.

Yeah, but I don't think the point is for him to be playing much. He's probably about standard for what you'd get across the NFL for a 4th or 5th cb.

If I remember right, he was the 1st CB drafted the year he came out!

Thats worth salvaging. That broken leg was gruesome, he worked his butt off to come back quick. Another year in the system and more healthy could prove to be another Veach home run!

Gotta wonder if the leg was a mental concern for him they think will be alleviated after a full year of health. He’s talented, but played like crap last year. Could definitely turn things around.

He doesn't suck as bad as Hughes.

Deandre Baker will be at 3 credited seasons, so he will be at $965,000.

Baker is still only 24 years old.

This is an inexpensive, good move by the Chiefs.

I am surprised that the Chiefs don't do the same thing for ERFAs TE Jody Fortson and RB Derrick Gore.

They probably will be.

Better for media attention to spread things out.
