Dude is 30 and has off the field issues. Calm down. He's more likely to do something stupid than he is to blow up for 15+ sacks.

This move draws you to that conclusion? Brother, Randy Gregory is older than Frank Clark and hasn't even sniffed Frank's best year. There is nothing impressive about this signing, if it happens. his 2021 was worse than Frank Clark's 2020 season that we all bitched about.

Miller or Jones >>>> Gregory

RunKC 03-15-2022 10:43 AM

They are hyped for his pressure stat but I think it has more to do with situation. Everyone was concerned with Micah Parsons or Demarcus Lawrence. That’s why Dorance Armstrong had a similar year to Gregory IMO

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Last year, Randy Gregory generated one hit or sack every 16.4 pass-rush snaps, per <a href="https://twitter.com/PFF?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@PFF</a> (6 sacks, 14 QB hits).<br><br>That rate ranks 7th among 94 edge rushers with at least 200 pass-rush snaps.</p>&mdash; Andrew Mason (@MaseDenver) <a href="https://twitter.com/MaseDenver/status/1503772550840553472?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 15, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

He was suspended for 14 games in 2016 for violations of the NFL's substance abuse policy.

He was suspended the entire 2017 season, two games in 2018 and the entire 2019 season for multiple violations.

He was suspended the first six games of 2020.

I can't believe they dropped that contract on him... sure, the talent and upside is there, but his history is terrible. Hopefully, part of the deal is him paying $1M a year for a babysitter.

Luckily, for you all, think most of those suspensions were due to weed use.

That shouldn't be an issue going forward (for multiple reasons) . . . . . .

I would have bet that Josh Gordon held the record for suspensions, but now I'm not so sure. Gregory is going to have him on the percent of eligible games suspended, but will he have him on total games suspended?

Yes, but I bet that contract he gets has more twists and turns to it and details. They will have every angle covered.

listopencil 03-15-2022 03:21 PM

Rumor is that the Dallas FO offered a contract that he was willing to sign, and then Jerry Jones' son Stephen tried to switch up some of the details of the contract at the last minute. The Broncos had a similar deal on the table for him but he was going to go with Dallas out of loyalty. The last minute switch pissed him off and he went with Denver instead out of spite.

Yeah that wouldn’t be an issue to a player unless he was worried that it could be a legitimate problem in the future. Or he just got his feelings hurt and made a snap decision.

There was some language in the Cowboy’s contract that Gregory wasn’t happy with, at least that’s what was discussed on ESPN with Adam Schefter.
