Daylight Savings for good?
|
Noo the night time is the right time.
|
The time shifts are no longer needed. It's time to just settle - they don't have to settle on DST but just stop with the shifts.
|
Yes, but I'm failing to see why it has to wait until next year. That means we will go back again in the fall and forward again next spring. The article references airlines and broadcasters. Maybe someone in those industries can clue me in.
|
no.
I can give reasons when I get home. |
more sun is always good
|
Screw that. This is the best time.
|
****s with me for about a week
|
YES!!
I hate when it gets dark at 4:30/5:00. MORE daylight please! I have seen many reasons why we switch back and forth but none of them are worth doing it. I would LOVE it to stay! |
My brain is struggling with this right. So....if it passes, would the permanent time be what we have now or what we have in Nov/Dec?
|
Bill how bout I beat the **** out of you and we call it a day
|
We should have daylight savings every week. That way we really save some daylight
|
Or at least monthly

It's about time. Changing the clocks was always a dumb concept.
|
Yes please leave it as it is now. I mean permanent Spring Forward!
|
It doesn't exist.

And maybe that is already programmed in the scheduling. |
This is a good thing. Do it!

I don't like it getting dark at 5:00 but then again, I don't like waiting until 10:30 to enjoy the "night life".
|
Do it!!!!!

Part of Hopi Nation lies within Navajo Nation. So, if you are driving through the area, don't be surprised if your clock changes multiple times. |
I'd prefer to have the extra hour of sunlight at the end of the day.
It will suck in the winter waiting until 8:30 for the sun to come up. |

When the sun goes down it's time to chill out. Unless I'm on vacation. |
But what about the children?

hell yeah |
Why is this something we are worrying about right now though? Quite trivial.

MPLS
Now with partial DST June 21 Sunrise 4:50 Sunset 9:03 Dec 21 Sunrise 7:40 Sunset 4:40 without permanent DST June 21 Sunrise 3:47 Sunset 8:03 Dec 21 Sunrise 7:40 Sunset 4:40 With Permanent DST June 21 Sunrise 3:47 Sunset 8:03 Dec 21 Sunrise 8:40 Sunset 5:40 Granted, no plan is perfect. Somewhere there is a bad time. But do you want kids going to school when it is dark? Now we shift 2x a year, but many do that anyway when they vacation. If states are allowed to make their own rules, then someone could have 5 time changes by driving from Minn to texas. Talk about stupid. Russia wants to change from 12 time zones to 5. There is a reason there is 24 zones. I know someone on another forum that tried to NOT observe DST. It lasted about a week. It was too hard adjusting to everyone else that changed. If you are smart, it takes about 3 days to adjust. Drink water. Take a nap or 3. Get over it pussies. Next people will only allow vasectomies during NCAA weekend so they can "rest" |

The government is so desperate, they are even taking time away from its citizens. |
Florida voted to end the stupid time change years ago. Still ****ing happening. So stupid. We’re closest state to the equator, and don’t need DST.

A few years ago, old school district moved the elementary kids to the first bus run and starts school at 7:40.
If this passes, those kids will go to school in the dark and so will the second run of the HS kids. I warned them. No one listened. Another solution in search of a problem. |
Anyone remember starting DST in January for a few years in the 70's?

Oh my god yes. I've never heard a reasonable explanation why we do this anyway.

feels like this will bring about arguments for making starting times for school later, like 9 am instead of 7 or 8.

Or maybe start the ****ing school day later. Do they really need to be out by 3:30 or whatever? |

Maybe we can just push the whole day to start later I don't know. Would kind of suck to get home from work at 8 pm. |

Interesting, looks like Arizona might always be Pacific time, or at least the article says "would allow AZ to be on standard time".
At least in terms of sports, I prefer Pacific time. |
If they got time right the first time we would have the right time. Split it down the middle. Go a half hour between and restart time from there. Boom

In other words, we have an issue here that’s not only screwing with the old farts in Congress but also their most consistent voting base, that already took a big hit with that virus thingy earlier. |
