The Tennessee Titans are releasing wide receiver Julio Jones after one season with the club, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday.

Jones will be released with a post-June 1 designation, which means Tennessee will save $9.513 million in 2022 cash and cap space.

Around The NFL will have more on Jones' release shortly.

So post-June 1 is some weird thing. Does that mean that he cannot sign with another team until after June 1, even though he knows he's gone?

BWillie 03-16-2022 02:32 PM

Too old

I'm pretty sure he's free to sign somewhere else, but the team will not get the full cap relief until 6/1.

Anyone who is better versed on the cap shenanigans feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

MMXcalibur 03-16-2022 02:39 PM

Jeez, didn't realize he was 33 years old
Always knew he was a brokedick though.

No thanks.

Red Dawg 03-16-2022 02:42 PM

Washed. One td is pathetic.

Mr_Tomahawk 03-16-2022 02:42 PM

Nope.

smithandrew051 03-16-2022 02:43 PM

He sucks unless we sign him

Skyy God 03-16-2022 02:44 PM

Come out, Julio-baters.

You guys wanted to trade for this JAG last year.

Oh, and I love Julio Jones.jpg

The Titan thing was to sign his withered husk in the first place.

Even worse. They TRADED for his withered husk. A 2022 2nd round pick.

Only when healthy, and he always has nagging injuries, even when supposedly healthy. So no, I would not want him at the cost of not getting someone else that I could count on.

BossChief 03-16-2022 04:19 PM

I’d take him on a minimal 1 year deal. But he’d have to be humbled to take that 3.5m offer.

ThyKingdomCome15 03-16-2022 04:35 PM

Pass

FD 03-16-2022 04:53 PM

Julio will have a nice rebound year once he has someone other than Tannehill throwing to him. He will still probably miss half his games, though.

Old Dog 03-16-2022 04:58 PM

Washed up....do not want

Bump 03-16-2022 05:09 PM

he's done, if he wants vet minimum then sure but someone is probably going to give him a ridiculous contract for the name.

R8RFAN 03-16-2022 05:10 PM

I would take Julio on a 2 year deal

No a June 1st designation does not penalize the player. In fact that is one reason it is done to allow the player to move on.

He can sign with another team as soon as it is official with the NFL.

Wilson8 03-16-2022 05:22 PM

If the Chiefs can get him for cheap, sure.

He player 10 games in 2021 with 31 catches, 434 yards, 1 TD

Rainbarrel 03-16-2022 05:23 PM

Didn't his dick fall off?

suzzer99 03-16-2022 05:34 PM

I bet he'd be better than Josh Gordon.

Yes that's exactly what he likes to catch!!!!

Wisconsin_Chief 03-16-2022 06:23 PM

Are some of you actually acting like he wouldn’t instantly be our 2nd best WR? Because he obviously would be.

These are the kind of guys this team is going to sign this offseason, and that’s fine. We’re not handing out any big contracts to free agents. That $31 million we gave to Reid is the most you’ll see. The rest are going to be guys like Jones to fill holes. You can only pay so many people.

Couch-Potato 03-16-2022 07:04 PM

I'm intrigued. Sure, he sucked last year with Tannehil and was injured the year before but look at those career numbers! Holy Shit!

If he's willing to come in on a reasonable deal, maybe incentive-laden, or a 1+1 prove it type deal... There are very few other teams that could help him revive his career more than our Chiefs.

He'd surely outperform last years numbers here.

Rainbarrel 03-16-2022 07:10 PM

His vet minimum could fund several gas huffings

Halfcan 03-16-2022 08:53 PM

Julio sprained a hammy cleaning out his locker- will be out 3-6 weeks of the Offseason.

FloridaMan88 03-16-2022 10:05 PM

Just sign the brokedick trio of AJ Green, Sammy Watkins and Julio Jones…between the three of them rotating back and forth from the injury report you might get a cumulative full season’s worth of production.
