Car-Nal Desires. Round 5, Heat 1.
We're in the Elite 8! From here on out, it's single-elimination vehicle versus vehicle. Four heats in this thread.
PICK ONE. 1939 Delahaye https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...&postcount=142 1969 RS/Z28 DZ302 with factory X33 cross ram and headers https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...&postcount=109 Recall the rules below. (Rule #5 was modified slightly from the nomination thread.) 1. This vehicle will be yours at no purchase cost. 2. You will keep your current vehicles, so no need to worry about fitting a baby seat in it or being able to haul mulch. 3. You're responsible for parking it. 4. You pay for gas or electricity. 5. Insurance and maintenance up to $3,000 per month is free to you. You cover the next $1,000 if the expenses are higher, and then after that the expenses are covered. So for a high-end vehicle you'll cover a max of $1,000 per month. 6. The vehicle must be street-legal. 7. The vehicle must actually exist. It cannot be a cartoon or concept drawing. However, it can be a production vehicle, a concept vehicle, a custom vehicle, or anything else that is real. 8. The vehicle being nominated is the exact vehicle shown. You cannot change the color, the interior, the engine size, etc. 9. You cannot use the vehicle to make money. It's only for your personal use. 10. You cannot sell the vehicle. 11. Any type of street-legal vehicle is allowed. You can nominate a car, a truck, a minivan, an RV, a semi-truck, a motorcyle, a classic car, a school bus, whatever. As long as it meets the rules above, it's eligible. |
Delahaye is just a unique and rare "cool"
|
I'm going to stick with the Delahaye here because it's an attention grabber and I like the spare tire trunk.
|
The seats in the Delahey look like they were made from a Casting Couch, circa '94

The Delahaye just doesn't "do it" for me. I haven't voted for it yet, and I will not now.

I'll note that the Delahaye has an advantage over the Z28 in terms of cup holders.
|
Never thought i'd see the day where Cruella's pre-WWII era French wagon with floral pattern seats ass-whooped a '69 Camaro on Chiefsplanet.
Pussification of America continues. |

Delahaye is an easy vote for me.

I'm still not signing myself up to drive anything from the 30's or 40's. Been there done that got the TShirt.

The 1930 Cadillac was a far superior 30s car and I don’t think it made this round. The Camaro is mostly boring as well but let’s get this wannabe 30s dream car out of here.

As much as I’m a fan of the ‘69 Camaro, I have to roll Bruce Wayne style.

I'm not a big fan of either, but the Delahaye looks like something the villain in a Batman movie would drive. The '69 Camaro is one of the worst handling cars, especially in snow, I've ever driven. Looks fun but keep it on the straightaway or on gentle curves.

This Camaro was built with these available options for the specific purpose to have the factory numbers to qualify and dominate Ford for Trans Am racing in 1969, which it did with Mark Donohue behind the wheel winning 8 out of 12 races in the series that year. |
ROFLROFLROFL yourself. Ford got pretty well wiped out of cars in Quebec (7th race) that year. Pontiac was racing the Firebird and let's not forget the Javelin.
