First!
|
OH **** YES!
|
4.37 40 for a 200lb+ RB
|
I like that one! Burner!
|
McKinnon's replacement
|
nice
|
BURNT PEACH DA GAWD
|
Most likely a replacement for McKinnon.
Great Pick! |
He will replace CEH! This guy is a stud!
|
Someone was screaming for this kid in the draft forum, it just slips me who. Congrats!
|
I really liked Kenneth Walker and this guy's game speed is faster. Fascinating pick to say the least. Dude isn't small either, listed weight 216. Veach really did his homework here.
|
Just watch he's going to shred on the second team, and bounces CEH then becomes the starter by mid-season
|
was kinda hoping that they would draft a RB in the 7th or another WR and just hope they can make the team and if they get on the field then awesome

Veach about to go down as a HOF GM on god
|
Arguably the fastest back in the draft and did it at about 215 LBs.
Vision isn’t great, not really a pass catcher, isn’t as agile as he is fast (don’t understand the Sproles comp at all). I mean if you figure he’s a Knile Davis clone, you’re not far off. And in the 7th that’s just fine. |

Possible kick returner?

First pick that wasn't on PFF's top 250.

I freaking knew it!

Excellent speed, solid balance, big body, looks solid catching the ball.
I like it |

Again - a VERY Knile Davis sort of player. Give him a clear seam and the ability to hit it in stride and he’ll blast through there and maybe knock the first guy he sees down in the process. But I don’t see him picking his way down the line and making a controlled cut after he sets his blockers up or something like that. Good runner when his shoulders are square and can punish guys that aren’t ready for his speed at that size, but I don’t see a 3-down back or even a primary 1st/2nd down guy in this system. |
3.9 ypc in college isn't good though. 1.9 per catch? Yeesh.
Pre-Draft Analysis Pacheco averaged just 3.9 yards per carry and 1.9 yards per catch last year, but he has outstanding top-end speed. He runs with great effort and has average contact balance. He's a hands catcher, and he flashes as a route runner. -- Steve Muench |
Quote:
And again - I’m not shitting on the pick. We took Davis in the 3rd round right? Getting a guy that’s damn near a clone of him in the 7th is solid. But this is a strictly measurables play. He wasn’t anywhere close to as productive as the highlight real and stopwatch/scale says he should’ve been. So PFF isn’t gonna like him. |

Cut him off bartender. |
All aboard the Pacheco Express
|
I'm just glad we got speed in a RB room that desperately needed it.

I remember when Darwin Thompson was going to start and set the league on fire his rookie year.
I think some people are going to get googly eyes for this guy too, and will probably end up disappointed |
Just saw this man ran 24 mph in a game at 215 lbs
Goddamn |
Quote:
He was much more efficient his previous seasons. |

But it’s about as exciting as a 7th round pick gets. And Veach told us he loved the late round RBs, so he probably really likes this guy. |
I think I first saw Tex say something about him in the draft forum. Thought it was a nice late pairing.
Reminds me of Damian Williams. Not really more than a one-cut guy, but when he does cut he has the speed to take it the distance. |

I hate the Big 10 more than the AFC East. |
Quote:
but watching the first highlight video Dante posted above, you can literally watch him do exactly that. You can also watch him catch passes, juke a guy out of his shoes, and run for 6-and you can watch him do it more than once. Now, will that translate to the NFL? Who knows. You can only play the guys in front of you. But at 215 lbs. with 4.37 speed? Remember that Veach said there would be starting RB's in the 7th round. I don't think he takes one if he sees Knile Davis. Just saying. |
|
It’s a 7th round pick
Likely he never does anything so start from thetr and if you get anything it’s a bonus |
Quote:
Because yeah, I wanted nothing but speed from any RB we added in this draft. We needed it so badly. And if we insist on running inside zone, this guy CAN do some damage. Especially if teams went to stay in 2-high looks. |
Rutgers is generally a pretty bad team
He was playing on an outmanned team going against better opponents in the big ten |
Looks like a pick that will never leave the PS. Should have taken a fatty.
|
Quote:
Worse talents than Davis have had productive NFL careers. You’re just gonna have a hard time convincing me that comparing a 7th round pick and like the 12th RB selected to anyone more impactful than Knile Davis before he’s signed his contract makes any sense. Pretty good chance that Knile Davis has a BETTER career than this kid. And that’s still just fine. It’s the 7th round. |
Quote:
I could definitely see him making the team and that's already insane given he's a 7th rounder. |
Quote:
|
Quote:
Frustrating that this team has invested virtually nothing into RB since getting lucky with Kareem Hunt, other than a CEH who is actually a mid round talent. I'm curious what other teams didn't draft an RB before the 7th |
Quote:
I.E. not hard. Because **** the Big 10. |
His numbers were pretty good his first three years. I’m hoping last year was just an anomaly.
|
Quote:
|
4.3 speed. I’m wondering if he isn’t being looked at as a WR project.
|
Quote:
|
Hell, at that speed/weight combo, might make a hell of an "Ace Gunner"
|
Yeah this ain't it but its a 7th so who cares
|
If he can win the returner gig, so much the better. That will allow Hardman to concentrate on WR2/3 and show if he's worthy of a new contract.
|
This is a 3 down back.
|
Quote:
Look - maybe someday he can develop that skill, but there’s literally nothing to support this position at this point in time. |
Is anyone else like super bothered by the way he runs? I mean his stride. It looks like he's just willing his legs to run faster than they can. Dude is fast, no doubt, but I wonder if maybe a running coach could help help out or something.
|
Quote:
Is that legit? I think Tyreek's maxed out at 23 and he was the fastest NFL ball carrier since they started recording. |
Quote:
|
Just give him a chance, damnit.

Just watching the various highlights, I wonder how he was nearly Mr. Irrelevant. I bet quite a few teams had his number ready to dial in order to offer an UDFA contract. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk |

Reminds me of how my toddler runs when he takes something he isn’t supposed to have. |
So how did this guy only average 3.9 YPC last year?
I don’t think I watched a single Rutgers game. Did he just play behind a bad line in a tough conference? Looked like he had a nice game against Michigan though. |
