With the schedule released let's get some early predictions in based off the current structure of the roster.

1. Chiefs record? [Poll incoming]

2. Do we make the playoffs, if so what round?

3. What rookie will preform the best + what PLAYER will underperform the most?

4. Any other comments or way too early predictions?

1. 13-4. Losses: @TB, @LAC, @DEN, @LV (resting starters)
2. Yes, AFC West Champs, 1 Seed, Super Bowl Champs
3. Best Rookie: Moore, Underperforming Player: Hardman (really tough call. I think Moore is better than we realize, so Hardman’s production won’t be what we expect)
4. Chiefs will only have 1 1,000-yard receiver, but 5 others with at least 600 yards

12-5. We have to go beat Buffalo at their stadium in January, and we AGAIN knock them out of the playoffs. We’re going back to the SB.

3. Best Rookie: Bryan Cook; underperform: Skyy Moore (only because Andy asks a lot of his receivers, so his production won't be crazy, especially early) -- i was thinking rookies only here -- so underperforming -- Juan Thornhill
4. Offense is more balanced than last year and is, therefore, better overall and tougher to stop. Defense makes huge strides as the season goes on and ends up a top half of the league defense. Buffalo will win home field advantage but will lose in the divisional round to Miami, allowing KC to host it's 5th consecutive AFCCG

I'm thinking similarly to you with a couple differences.

I feel that we will beat TB because F Brady. Our losses might not all be from the AFC West, but they have the best chance to do it as they get us twice.

I think the Chiefs will have two receivers with 1,000 yards... one will just be a TE!

Somewhere between 12-5 & 13-4; some early growing pains however I have faith that they will work things out.

12-5. Losses to the Bucs, Bills, Chargers, Rams and Bengals.

Yes we make the playoffs. AFC Champs but it takes a win over the Raiders in the last game to edge out the Chargers. We end up as the 3 seed after the Bills and Bengals.

Kinnard wins and holds down the RT spot all season long….solidifying the offensive line. Fenton loses his job midway through the season after going back to looking average.

Went 11-6 for now. I think we'll have some early season lumps we have to endure as the offense/defense gets used to playing together.

We should be playing our best football by December, and that's the most important thing.

I'm going low this year in hopes of being surprised. I know we don't like to think of it as a rebuilding year, but our schedule is brutal out of the gate, and there will probably be some growing pains as we figure out the "new" offense (not to mention that we're relying pretty heavily on some rookies on defense).

4. Mahomes still looks like the best QB in the league

Defense starts slow and struggles early bc of so much turnover and youth but starts showing improvement as seals goes on. Barely win division, lose in divisional to Buffalo or Cincy but show a lot of promise for 2023 and beyond

Not sure how I see the playoffs going this year. Depends on how they're trending in December. We'll see . . . . . .

I think this season starts out like 4-3.

But after the bye... man. Brutal. 3-3.

But we should end the season strong -- I see a 4-0 streak there.

That puts me at 11-6.

New players, same results. No such thing as an off year with Mahomes throwing the rock. Just some different names to go in the record book beside Patrick. We beat Baltimore in the AFC championship game and then beat the Rams in the Superbowl! Don't tell Patrick that the Chiefs are taking a step backwards this year.

Just read the Chiefs are the first team in pro football history to play teams with winning records from the previous year in each of the first 8 weeks of the season. That's just unreal.

In a way, it's a good thing because we always tend to play down to our competition anyway. There will be no coasting to start the season this year or we'll never recover. We better be ready.

More I think about it, more I feel like this will be a case similar to last year where our schedule won't be as tough as it looks.

I'd say 12/13 wins is honestly the floor here. We definitely have a shot of being the #1 seed.

I'm caught between 10-7 and 11-6. We're going to take some lumps this year with that schedule I think.

I'll be optimistic and go with 11-6.

We’re absolutely gonna beat Brady. That D won’t play well against our new look offense, and our monster mauler OL.

Everybody’s chalking TB as a loss, but I think Mahomes will be out to make a statement that day. Plus, Brady’s 97 yr old bones are bound to start creaking soon.

I think Cincinnati will be another game that Mahomes will simply refuse to lose. In fact, I’m going to predict that they embarrass the Bengals.

I predict an undefeated record at Arrowhead, a loss @ LAC, and two more road losses. 14-3.

Overly optimistic? Maybe. But two years ago the starters went 14-1 vs a tough schedule, and I think this roster is superior to that one. And I don’t anticipate the turnovers and general flukery that we saw in the first half of last season.

I voted for the 14-3 record because I couldn’t find the 17-3 tab. We’re winning the SB this year boys and girls. I think the Chargers have the 2nd best team in the NFL and we lose to them, we lose 1 between Tampa and Buffalo and we lose 1 because “The fix is in”.

I actually think we'll be better than last year. So that makes my prediction 13-4

Right at this moment I’d go 12-5 on the high side & 10-7 on the low side. Ask me again after preseason.

Gonna be interesting to see who ends up cracking a thousand. Mahomes has averaged slightly under 4,700 yds a season, with around 800 receiving yds going to RBs and 1,300 to TEs.

Theoretically it's possible we just see four 650 yard WRs. But it's way more likely someone separates themselves from the pack. Question comes down to who will step up and at the moment it's a dice roll. Hardman and JuJu are in contract years and Scantling from everything posted on social media is yearning to prove himself worthy of his payday. Skyy is probably least likely given his rookie status and then there's Ross who's a giant wildcard. They say hungry dogs run faster and we got whole lot of them in the WR room, it's definitely gonna be a battle.

Skyy Moore and George Karlaftis break out and I think coaching is a big factor.

I think Skyy has at least 8 TD’s and Karlaftis gets at least 8 sacks due to playing next to Chris Jones on passing downs.

12-5 with losses to @Bucs, Bills, @49ers, @Chargers and @Broncos. Could absolutely see 13-4 (KC is improved over last year and better than the 5 aforementioned teams, IMO) or 11-6 if team takes a while to get and there are more growing pains than expected. 12-5 should win the AFC West and get a solid seed. Beat the Bills to get to 13-4 and we may be taking about the 1 seed.
