RIP. His name was Michael Bolton.

Can’t stand Holtus. Tries too hard with his nicknames and catch phrases. I’ve always missed Kevin Harlan.

I generally feel that way.

Then I listen to another teams radio broadcast and it is flat out terrible compared to ours.

Kevin Harlan was and is the best in the business. Having said that, Mitch rocks. Yeah, he sometimes tries to hard, but that dude LOVES the Chiefs and it shows. I love the guy.

He seemed so young and vibrant. Sad.

So it's his birthday and he was inducted into the Missouri sports broadcasters hall of fame?

Worst play by play broadcaster of all the KC sports team. That is an accomplishment if you look at the idiot on radio for sporting.

Love his passion, but his calls are so cringe....

Nobody cares who you like or dislike.

One of the best play by play announcers, but his color commentary is pretty cringe. Still very thankful we have him. There really aren’t many better touchdown calls in all of football.

I loved Steve Savard back when the Rams played in STL. He was my favorite. I definitely enjoy Mitch as well, he's excellent. His passion is undeniable. When I watch games on TV I mute the volume and listen to Mitch. He's very detailed and the pregame is awesome.

I don't understand how people can bitch about Mitch. Dudes a God damn legend and legitimately loves the team.

he's a good hype man for sure - he's established a Michael Buffer little cult following, trust me - he's probably also the best hype dude ever, in all of sports, all damn time.

There is a push for more women to do play by play. So half the modern teams are women. Dude i love women, I was born from one, but their shrill shrieking is HORRIBLE. They arent made for radio, women. They aint for sports.

In hockey though especially near California, its out with men and in with women. You dont know how bad it gets. I had to give the sport up because it does matter the voice in your ear.

I have a theory that he's generational. Older people like him. Younger people hate him. I'm in the middle.

Hearing his audio of our Super Bowl run and win over and over again in our house, I'm pretty sure my sons are fans. Gonna have to ask now, though.

I LOVE his passion for the Chiefs.

He can get a little corny at times with some goofy analogies he creates.

Overall I like him much more than dislike him.

I'm 40 so I think that makes me young around CP? Or old? I don't know, and I'm too damn old to care. But I love Mitch. The dude exudes passion.

I used to follow the LA Kings and they went woke and brought in a woman to do play by play and she is objectively terrible with play by play. She never knows who is on the ice so she just says things like "The Kings player passed to the Kings player, who passes to the Kings player who SHOOTS but misses". It's just a terrible audio experience. Then when the Sharks score, she shrieks and it makes my dogs bark. It's like a air raid siren when she shrieks. This is half the play by play in hockey.

If you don't like Mitch, you'll end up getting a Bitch. Careful what you wish for.

I don't know who you are but you remind me of TLO , your style is like his and he was an annoying asshole,a pussy , a **** , a cock sucker and a real douche. Other than that he was an OK dude but not really. Did I mention he sucked ass.

I've known Mitch since I was a student at K-State in the 80's. He's genuinely a great guy. You will not find a more passionate Chiefs fan. Is he corny? Yes, without a doubt. Are his calls over the top at times? Yep. But, when you tie the entire package of what he brings to the Chiefs broadcast and his ability to reach the emotion of fans in person and on the radio, you will NEVER find a better overall fit for that job. He's working his dream job, and he knows and appreciates it. I don't believe he's ever taken that for granted.

Absolutely this. Go listen to a highlight vid of the Bills-Chiefs playoff game and listen to the contrast between Mitch and their guys calling the action, then come back in here and tell us how Mitch rules.
