Skyyyyyyyy Moore has several years of control before this is an issue.

RunKC 07-31-2022 06:25 PM

Still crazy to me that Debo, DK and AJ signed for contracts in the $24 is million AAV range and Miami gave a contract to Tyreek for $30 million AAV

And they gave up a lot of draft picks.

Miami REALLY PAID!

Hill's 5th year on that deal is roughly 50mm (i.e., it'll never happen) AJ Brown's is 38mm. DK has a different contract length. Who knows about Deebo? Not quite apples to apples.

A lot of these guys aren't seeing the last year of their deals. Tyreek's last year is 50 million. No way the Fish pay that.

Just like the Raiders with Adams... 44 million in each of the last 2 years. They save over 28 cutting bait after 3 years.

Plus he is already better than Samuel & Hill IMO

Rausch 07-31-2022 06:43 PM

I would say a lot of GM's miscalculated the values/contracts free agents would get this year. That artificial low due to the rona is definitely over and guys are smart enough to know the new TV/Streaming deals and gambling deals are on the horizon...

Red Dawg 07-31-2022 06:44 PM

That's rediculous. No wr is worth what WRs are getting this year. Mahomes is about to prove it when he lights shit up without TH. Who did Brady have at WR for 6 titles?

Between Moore as Jerry Rice and Cook as Derwin James and Chenal as Luke Kuechly and McDuffie as Deion Sanders and Karlaftis as Jared Allen and Williams as Jalen Ramsey, I think our rookie class could help this team.

Red Dawg 07-31-2022 06:46 PM

Hill got 72 mill guranteed. He really ****ed Miami.

WR's are getting the contracts HB's got in the 90's. The emphasis has shifted to the passing game. Odds are good that stud QB's gonna' have a stud WR.

Every QB needs one...

I hope Cook isn't James. James is always injured.

Cook reminds me of a combo of Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu, but better

Hoover 07-31-2022 06:55 PM

At this rate it would be wise to invest a 3rd or 4th rounder every year on the position.

In this WR market Hardman will walk and JuJu might be too expensive to resign. Pat will make that man some money.

We could be down two of our top 3 guys again next year...

I hope. James missed one year basicly but his game stats don't reflect how many times he didn't finish ganes.

He has a balloon year his last year. He's actually getting 23-24mil just like everyone else

They should be taking one on day 2 at least every other year, ideally every year.

I've said it before, but the model is the Steelers. What they do with WRs is exactly what we should be doing.

And until they know they have a bonafide WR1, they should consider taking one in the 1st as well.

His deal is essentially a little over 95mil over 4 years. He got paid market rate for a top receiver.

He had top 10 scoring defenses for every title.

As well as the best HC in NFL history.

Big difference here is guaranteed $$. Tyreek got $72 million and DK, AJ and Debo got $57-58 million.

So Tyreek got roughly 25% more money guaranteed than they did

Don’t forget about Pacheco as a better version of Barry Sanders

There's nuance around how that's all guaranteed too.

Hill:

Quote:

$52.535M guaranteed at signing (signing bonus + 2022 salary + 2023 salary + 2023 roster bonus)
2023 Roster Bonus: $10M
2024 salary fully guarantees March 2023
Bown:

Quote:

$40M guaranteed at signing (signing bonus + 2022 salary + 2023 compensation + $3.779M of 2024 salary)
2023 Option Bonus: $10.17M (guaranteed)
Remaining $16.471M of 2024 salary fully guarantees the 3rd league day of 2023 (injury guaranteed at sign)
2024 per game & workout bonuses fully guarantee on the 3rd league day of 2023 (injury guaranteed at sign)
Hill definitely got more but it's not like it was another clear stratosphere.

He had Randy Moss for one of his SB appearances.

kevrunner 07-31-2022 07:52 PM

Tyreek might have gotten more guaranteed than DK or Deeboo, but he deserved and earned it, he has multiple years of playing at an elite level and is a game changer, Tyreek has over 1100 receiving yards in 4 of the last 5 seasons, and his stats are far superior in his first 3 seasons compared to Metcalf and Deeboo. But, Metcalf and Deeboo are in great position to secure another big contract, that’s a big plus for them, surprised that the teams agreed to only 3 years. This was probably Tyreek’s one and only chance at a big contract. In 3 years these contracts are going to look pretty cheap.

And Tommy Townsend as Ray Guy

Brady won at least 6 SB’s without a stud WR. ;)

That franchise is the the exception and not the rule.

If we landed a HOF DC I could see another 5 SB's going our way...

Looks like we have a HOF coach in place. Great GM. HOF QB. Fantastic OL. Maybe building a good defense. Looks like a familiar template to me.

notorious 07-31-2022 08:56 PM

John Lynch, ladies and gentlemen! LMAO

People really need to stop with the "if you don't win at least 5 Superbowls then you are a failure, Mahomes is a failure because he only has 1 ring in 4 years"

If another QB gets 7 rings again, it's going to be decades before that happens again.
