What’s this teams weakest position group?

This roster is pretty stacked top to bottom.

What position group do you think is the weakest link?

ptlyon 08-04-2022 08:42 PM

CP

MarkDavis'Haircut 08-04-2022 08:44 PM

Obviously, QB. /s

smithandrew051 08-04-2022 08:54 PM

Probably RB.

If we get more specific, I might say OT. Brown is fine but not great, and Wylie is below average. Maybe Kinnard can be an upgrade, but he’s still an unknown.

DL is right behind RB, but I’m optimistic there.

RaidersOftheCellar 08-04-2022 09:33 PM

There’s talent and depth everywhere, but also questions in every position group.

Given those options, I think you have to say RB. But it could wind up being a strong and deep group.

lewdog 08-04-2022 09:34 PM

Cheerleaders.

Is this even a question?!?!

Bump 08-04-2022 09:35 PM

it's pretty obvious. Either DL or RB and the rest of the team is pretty ****ing good or better. Safeties are questionable I guess, Reid and Thornhill or Reid and Cook?

Did we get rid of Tracy Morgan?

TimeForWasp 08-04-2022 09:39 PM

I said QB . Mahomes is obviously the best, but Henne. I can see how it may be good to have him around, but He should be a coach by now. Need another young guy that is a little more similar to Pat. I know nothing about the third string guy.

Titty Meat 08-04-2022 09:42 PM

DL specifically Dtackle it's pretty much Jones and a bunch of rotational guys at best

FloridaMan88 08-04-2022 09:47 PM

RB’s… solid group but no star or Pro Bowl caliber players.

GROB 08-04-2022 09:50 PM

CB jumps out to me. WRs are mediocre but I know you are leaning on the system. You got a bunch of number 2 WR.

Chiefs=Champions 08-04-2022 10:03 PM

I voted secondary, but really meant cbs, the safety group is a strength. Cbs will be a strength long term, but may take a while to develop with alll the young players.

Kman34 08-04-2022 10:07 PM

Rt tackle..

And yet you think the Broncos have an elite group of WRs. Go figure.

RaidersOftheCellar 08-04-2022 10:46 PM

Btw, having a bunch of #2 WRs + Kelce wouldn’t exactly be a weakness.

oldman 08-04-2022 10:59 PM

I'm going to go with QB because behind PMII, we have nothing. Henne is a 37 year old journeyman that hasn't thrown a pass in 4 of the last 7 years. Bucehele and Crum have never thrown a NFL pass.

BWillie 08-04-2022 11:09 PM

I would have said WR...but it is lumped with TE so I picked DL.

Where did I say that? Try and keep this thread on topic.

TwistedChief 08-05-2022 02:42 AM

Pre-Dunlap DL was the most obvious answer.

Afterward though, it's pretty close between that and RB but I still went with DL. Then secondary.

(So strange and refreshing to not have LBer even considered.)

Ecto-I 08-05-2022 02:51 AM

I voted secondary only because we have a lot of unproven guys. I *think* they will be a strength, but there's so many new faces that haven't yet lit up the NFL.

Hog's Gone Fishin 08-05-2022 02:53 AM

Cheerleaders should be an option. Our team is fine but those gals..................

Chris Meck 08-05-2022 05:35 AM

Please, someone beat out Wylie. Preferably 2 guys, so I don't have to watch him play meaningful snaps no matter what.

Secondary is an area that could look dodgy for the first 6 weeks while they adjust to systems and each other but end up a major strength come playoffs due to the raw talent and athletic ability in the group.

jettio 08-05-2022 07:35 AM

Weakest position group is the bozos posting on chiefs planet.

TLO 08-05-2022 08:10 AM

DL / RB / Secondary

I'm hopeful we'll have some guys that can get to the QB. But it still makes me uncomfortable until we see it.

RB is a mishmash of interesting pieces. I think we'll end up being fine there, but nobody really stands out.

Secondary also has a lot of new parts. I think we'll be fine here.

He did okay last year, no?

BossChief 08-05-2022 11:55 AM

It’s interesting to me that so many say the secondary as one of the weakest groups.

Sneed
McDuffie
Fenton
Williams
Baker

Thornhill
Reid
Cook
Bush

I think that’s a pretty damn good secondary with a legit chance to be a great one.

ThaVirus 08-05-2022 11:58 AM

I don't think we're all that stacked, to be honest.

I think the strengths of this team will continue to be coaching and QB. The offensive line will likely continue to be strong, as will Kelce.

Other than that, we could have issues at RB, WR, DL, and in the secondary. If any of our LBs go down, I think we might have issues there as well.

ThaVirus 08-05-2022 11:59 AM

Luckily, again, we have strong coaching so I trust those guys to maximize the potential of all the young and new guys on the team.

Still, I wouldn't be surprised if any of those position groups end up being ho hum when everything shakes out. There are a lot of question marks.

I think you guys think your CB Sneed & Fenton are better than they are. Slightly better than average players. Nice players and passable especially for draft position but not guys you are probably going to give a second deal unless they take peanuts MCD could turn into something though.

CatfishBob2 08-05-2022 12:10 PM

Rb room could be better but relying on all that youth in the secondary makes me nervous. I think we should expect improvement everywhere else

Chiefs fans are traditionally pretty harsh on secondary players who aren't good. Sneed and Fenton have earned the love they get here. That said you may be right because the Chiefs seem to be able to replenish the DB pipeline by finding good value in the draft.

RB, WR, DL and secondary were huge problems last year. I don’t think they’ll be as big of a problem unless youth takes time to produce.

DL was very worrisome but I feel much better with Karlaftis and Dunlap

I think it's time we draft a TE next year round 1.... That's really where our weakness is. I think if Kelce was to go down for whatever reason, our entire, ENTIRE offense changes and not for the better...

Having what the pats had with Gronk/Hernandez would be fantastic. I really think we need to make a play in the draft next year to get a TE..

Imagine moreso if we coulda somehow grabbed Ertz to of paired alongside Kelce last year going into this year... Just my two cents...

I'm all for it if the right TE falls to us...

PHOG 08-05-2022 12:46 PM

DE or LT, depending on the circumstance next year.
