They need someone to dial this in. I am in.
|
It was better when I watched it on Youtube. They have a good show.

2 more 100 yard games and he ties Gronk
He is such a stud |
Listened to it. I'll listen again. Not bad so far. I wonder what they'll talk about to keep it going, but they've got my attention for now.

Travis is pissed. It's good to see these guys express how they really feel instead of the measured answers they give reporters. |
LMAO
Well, Travis, you could have saved us the grief by catching that 3rd and 7 in the red zone or the TD in the 4th quarter. I'll give him a pass for not converting the 3rd down on the second or third series. That was just a great tackle by Gilmore. But a player of his caliber has to catch one of the other two. |
Quote:
MVS was open on a similar out cut, over the top of Kelce. Mahomes could have chosen either one of them but went with Kelce. |
Mahomes put it on Kelce hard, and Kelce had to make a twisting catch in the air. It's still a catch Kelce usually makes. But it was a 7 or 8 on degree of difficulty.
|
Remember when people said Reek wanted out to build his own brand because he wasnt going to be allowed to podcast in KC?
|
Kelce has only had one 1 concussion? Wow.
Jason went to the wrong sideline? ROFL |

I wish they wouldve talked about Tua as they brought it up after the first concussion.
|
I cant believe this doesnt have 10+ pages by now
|
Yeah im halfway through the current episode. It's great. It's part of my regular rotation now.
|
This episode was funny as all ****. I laughed hard the whole time.
I love this shit. The part where Kelce talked about being an all time great was a really good listen. The fact that these guys actually say stuff instead of puking cliches is really good. Literally the only athlete podcast I listen to. |
I'm not really into podcasts, so this is really the only one I follow right now. I've actually learned a lot.

But yeah, that Mount Rushmore conversation was great, especially when he's just like "Yeah, I'm on it..." I did find it interesting that he had Winslow and TG as immediate locks. Gronk as a slow-rolled 3rd was not what I expected. He went with the 3 I expected him to, but I was surprised that he seemed torn on Gronk as his 3rd. |
I laughed the hardest when Jason slid in the, "Thanks for listening to the pod, Andy" after they discussed the QB (TE) sneak.
|
I found their discussion about media talking heads pretty enlightening. Don't play like shit and they wont talk shit.

The best part about Rudd's part is that he REALLY ****ing cares. The stuff about his kid crying and all the stuff about next year and and all that did a couple things; First it effectively articulated the struggle that other teams might not know. Second it showed how much he really cares, which is for us. You hear about celebrity fans and yeah, maybe, but it's good that he actually cares. And it's weird to me - I know less than nothing about the celebity actor life but there aren't many rabid fans. It's good that we have one. Rudd worked for me. The I'm on it thing was good. And that's what I keep saying, they're honest. Hell, in a moment of honesty, most players would overrate themselves, but they've all been coached to pretend to be humble. What makes the thing go is that they're not spewing what3ever the PR guy tells them to. I too was kind of surprised he threw Gonzo up there automatically. Gronk I get, and when he talked about motivating him to make his transition, that was really interesting. As we get older and have watched a million guys roll out to play football, it's easy to forget how impactful certain players can be in formative years. I also think him talking about being a shithead was insightful. That can't be easy to sit there and talk about, but it was interesting to listen to. |
Quote:
But I think what I found most interesting was that the switch to TE led him to "a love of the game I never had before..." It just kinda explains why he puts so much into playing his position - he genuinely loves playing TE. I also thought it was pretty honest of him to say "hey - I liked it because I was good at it. I didn't have Brian Kelly chewing my ass for not throwing the football anymore..." |

I'm GUESSING he quit going to the bars in college, but goes with the guys after he matured in the pros. All those quotes were profoundly interesting. Same with the ones about learning the defense. It shows how he's so good at the finding openings business instead of just running a route like most guys do. Just tidbits like that are worth the price of admission, and the self-deprecation about being not very good at it helps smooth the rough spots. I'm truly impressed. |
Love this, it will be a weekly listen.

By and large, the good analysts will talk about you based on how good or bad you've played. Simple as that. |
Quote:
They'll find something legitimate and then embellish it. But even Bayless can't find a way to argue that Patrick Mahomes is a bad quarterback or Travis Kelce can't play anymore. |

Quote:
While everyone else says Mahomes is, at worst, top 3; Bayless will try to talk him down into the 8 range. Is that insulting...oh sure. Is it calling him Marcus Mariota? Nah. |

Great podcast. I have watched 3 episodes. Jason is such a cool dude. The type of dude you meet at a bar, have a drink with and talk about sports and just life in general.
Him and Travis have very good chemistry, too. |
I think this is my favorite podcast, and I listen to a shitload of podcasts. We'll see how it ages, but it's firing 100MPH.
The interesting football stuff from this one was Kelce liking the London game. I thought the players didn't like it. Also interestingly he thought it "broke up" their weeks. I'm guessing this is why this team comes out flat and lays eggs sometimes, they need to be juiced up or something. IDK. Just wasn't what I was expecting from that conversation. Also it was kind of not what I expected about the Lamar conversation. After playing with Mahomes, it would be hard for me to say Lamar is one of the best QBs in the league. He's apparently friends with Andrews who he feeds, but Lamar makes a SHITLOAD of bad throws and I'm sure Kelce has to know it. He's never going to come out and be like this dude is a RB like CP does, but he came in hot with praise. It was also interesting his comments on getting money and betting on yourself. The comments aren't surprising in a vacuum, but he definitely did not do that in his career. He has been pretty goddamned reasonable the whole ****ing time. I'm sure he's fine and all, but it was an interesting comment. |
Quote:
That said, I'd probably punch Skip in the face if I had to hang out with him. What a douchebag. |
Quote:
To his credit, he's become better at intermediate routes, but teams are going to dare him to beat them deep and there are simply going to be games where he doesn't have it - it happens to better throwers than Lamar Jackson. And at some point it will happen in the post-season. He tried desperately to give that game against the Bengals away but Cincy's O-Line wasn't having it. If you have a team that simply doesn't have a fundamental, fatal flaw, they're going to smoke Baltimore in weeks like last week. |
I wonder if they'll get any backlash from the comments about white people not being corners. How, if there was a white corner, they'd target them all day long. And calling them a highlighter. Don't get me wrong, I laughed. I could just see those who are easily offended taking issue with it.

I thought Eli Apple was white. ROFL
|
Just for fun, I did a little digging. Troy Apke is a white safety who was drafted by the Redskins in 2018. They tried to convert him to CB last year, so technically he became the first white CB in the NFL since 2002. Since then, he's been signed, then released, then signed to the PS, then released. He's currently a FA.
So yeah, we went 19 years without a white corner in the NFL, and the streak was broken by a guy who couldn't make the roster of a bottom 5 team. I think it's safe to say that, even if you don't appreciate that they were just joking around, it's 99% factual that white guys are incapable of being NFL CBs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_A...%205%2C%202022. |
Quote:
I don’t think it is, honestly. I think there’s probably some other factor that plays into the lack of white CBs in the NFL. Perhaps it’s the bias that white people are not as athletic as black people, sort of similar to the notion that white people are smarter than black people leading to the idea that black people just weren’t smart enough to play QB for decades. There are tons of fast, athletic white dudes out there playing WR. I’m sure a fair number of them could have been successful CBs in the league. Hell, Julian Edelman played CB briefly in a pinch and he wasn’t half bad. |

I agree that CB (other than QB) is the toughest position to play.
You are running backwards and sideways against NFL elite receivers and guessing at which way they are going to go. If you are off by 1 yard, these elite QB's are going to fit it in that window. On top of that, the rules say you must make a 180 degree turn in midair to make a play on the ball without contacting the WR or it's a penalty AND you can't face guard. This is why I give CB's a free pass for the most part as they are setup to fail. We have something really special in Sneed. |

Travis seems like a cool dude, but he's kind of a ditz sometimes. I feel like there's been about four or five different times he's just like "Wait, what was the question?" or "Did I answer the question? I forgot what you asked." lol

Both of these guys are about who I thought they were. Travis is fashionable, social and never too serious. Jason is a lineman, just worried about the grind, not looks, trends or social hours. Super cool.
