Hell yeah brother

Not worried about the offense, they ain't gonna punt it that many times very often

Don’t give a **** who “won” it. O or D.

This is a damn good team.

I'm certainly doubting certain aspects of the team. Looking right at you, OTs.

RealSNR 09-15-2022 09:17 PM

I'm actually encouraged by our DL.

The Chargers have a top 5 OL. It's way more balanced from left to right than ours, and they have two incredible bookends.

We got pressure when there were some weak links that had to step in, meaning they went from super human to normal.

We're not a great DL, but I think we're back to being good enough.

Karlaftis is our most disruptive edge rusher and needs to play more.

if you haven't heard, the Kansas City Chiefs just beat the "best team in the NFL" according to every current announcer and sports 'journalist'

TwistedChief 09-15-2022 09:19 PM

ThaVirus 09-15-2022 09:19 PM

Gritty win. I thought the GDT was actually pretty tame tonight, though.

The Chiefs D played well, IMO. Half way through the 4th Jones had only played 26 defensive snaps. He was fresh and started breaking shit.

Quesadilla Joe 09-15-2022 09:20 PM

Does Mahomes lead the league in dropped picks?

Bump 09-15-2022 09:20 PM

they do have some big names and talent on defense though. That's probably one of the reasons why the offense wasn't as smooth this week.

Agreed. They started off rocky but by the end I felt like they were up Herbie's ass on every dropback.

Buuttttttt can we talk about this offensive line? It's been hyped as a top 5 unit and I'm just not seeing it.

The tackles are both playing like ass and Trey Smith seems kinda average. Thuney and Humphrey are great but the other three guys are not.

BWillie 09-15-2022 09:21 PM

This is a familiar trend with the Chargers. Quite frankly they outplayed us for 90% of the game. They just made the mistakes. There were two possible picks for Mahomes out there, but he had 4 or 5 plays of pure wizardry. He has the memory of a goldfish. He doesn't give a shit if he makes a mistake. Shooters keep shooting.

That's a stacked Chargers team. We wont play a better defense this year imo. To get the win is huge. Cant doubt Mahomes ever. Need Andy to put the game in his hands a bit earlier though.

CasselGotPeedOn 09-15-2022 09:22 PM

We just won against one of the favorites in the AFC with Mahomes not being great and a defense that started a rookie 7th rounder at corner amongst multiple other young guys in a season that's supposed to be a rebuilding year. Lol. I think we'll be alright.

Nope. Sky is falling because we had a bad 1at half, and our OL struggled against the best duo of edge rushers in the NFL.

We had 4 turnovers a year ago and we were inches away from beating them. You know how hard it is to beat a team when you lose the TO battle 4-0 and we were so close? Did anyone cry for us?

Football is a team game.

lewdog 09-15-2022 09:23 PM

I don't get it either.

Championship teams can beat good teams even with bad play on some nights. We basically proved that tonight and the Chiefs have done it before.

I also cannot fathom watching this team over the years and thinking they'd be out of any game in the second quarter. Mind blowing shit by some posters here.

It's just a bad matchup when going against two of the leagues best. We won't be playing Mack and Bosa every week.

It wasn't just this game. Brown was credited with SEVEN PRESSURES against Arizona. He's been an absolute tire fire to start the season

Yeah, that D is a monster and they made us one dimensional. I’m not too concerned about this being some awful trend. We aren’t going to be facing a D like that every week.

KC_Connection 09-15-2022 09:26 PM

Chargers still badly outplayed us that game. They just ****ed up the crucial moments (as they often do) and we didn't.

We'll take it obviously, but that Chargers team is a force to be reckoned with this year (whenever Herbert gets back from this likely rib fracture).

That’s a really good D. The Chiefs O struggled for sure. But only one team blinked and made THE mistake. And it wasn’t the Chiefs.

Simply Red 09-15-2022 09:27 PM

worst I did was fapped left handed for a while in the first half.

Oh Snap 09-15-2022 09:27 PM

Issue I see are self inflicted. When playing another good team, you go for the high percentage plays. If you have 1 yard to get a 1st down or a touchdown, you run the ****ing ball! We shpulda won this game by 11. But I'll take the win.

I too didn't want to him to end up like Herbert did tonight and I thought that was a serious risk the way that game was going with our line breaking down.

HonestChieffan 09-15-2022 09:28 PM

Im guilty as charged

That said......Clark and Jones played Huge

Spags soft D is frightening

But we got the win

Baby Lee 09-15-2022 09:28 PM

There wasn't anything criticized in this game that didn't deserve criticism.

Criticism isn't final judgment, it's a contemporary assessment of performance compared to potential.

The Bolts defense came with it, but at this point they have a pedigree of having elite solutions to the problems the Chiefs pose. We're not going to beat their defense straight up regardless of game plan. They're too prepared for our strengths and strategies.

The Bolts offense didn't do anything amazing to get results, they just capitalized on OUR problems and faults, things we have to work on and clean up.

That 14pt swing was a monumental unforced error by the Bolts, They forced it to the one guy on the field that needed one play off to regain his composure.

TambaBerry 09-15-2022 09:28 PM

I'm a very reactionary poster. I normally stay out of the game thread because of that

If you mean I wanted to rest Mahomes if the game got any worse than it did, absolutely. He's this entire franchise and the season rests on him. Meaningless games in September matter very little to me compared to a potential injury.

scho63 09-15-2022 09:32 PM

Bosa was much more disruptive than Mack.

Oh Snap 09-15-2022 09:32 PM

OL has had issues handling power edge rushers. Not a lot of teams have a bosa or a Khalil mack. Chargers have both... but that second possession was downright bad and 100% on the OL. They did better in the 2nd half.

Stop with the bullshit. It hasn't been just one bad game by this OL. Brown in particular was abysmal against the Cardinals as well.
