Players your keeping your eye on as a KC addition?

Any players you're keeping you eye on as a possible KC addition?

How about Kudarious Toney? 2 Rec for 0 Yds in the first two games, doesn't look like he's going to be a key part of that offense. Could probably use a fresh start.

DK Metcalf, 4 rec for 35 yards. Would they consider letting him go if after paying him he's not able to perform, and gets frustrated? That price tag isn't too bad, he'd be a beast in KC.

Saquan's looking pretty good as well, would have made a nice pick up in the offseason. If he stays healthy and has a good year, I'm wondering if we take interest in him next offseason as a FA?

Couch-Potato 09-20-2022 07:30 PM

2023 =

TE Kelce

WR Metcalf, JuJu, Moore, MVS, Ross, Toney

RB Saquan, Pacheco, Ealy

;)

BWillie 09-20-2022 07:34 PM

Any good wide receiver.

smithandrew051 09-20-2022 07:34 PM

Chiefs 53rd man would be the Bills best player.

So none.

I'd rather just draft someone, resign JuJu and get better without giving anything up for Metcalf's price tag.

Hammock Parties 09-20-2022 07:38 PM

MVS and JuJu were pretty bad last game. They were so bad it basically rat-****ed the offense for an entire half.

If that doesn't improve I think the Chiefs go get a WR.

Couch-Potato 09-20-2022 07:41 PM

WR D Mooney maybe? Looked great last year, Bears aren't going anywhere soon.

He'd be amazing

DK Metcalf? May as well pick up Aaron Donald while we’re at it.

bringbackmarty 09-20-2022 08:04 PM

It takes time with Andy's offense and teams are blitzing more. They about to learn in a big way how bad an idea that is. I think we're actually deep there in the sense that any of them could go off for 10 catches and a couple of tds. Where to be when they blitz, how to find the soft spots in the zone, where Patrick is going to place the ball. Takes time.

I think we should pick up Josh Allen and Justin Herbert, then bench them. Make our path to the Super Bowl much easier.

Let’s trade for everyone in the afc west then stash them on our practice squad lmao

O.city 09-20-2022 08:15 PM

Unless it’s a pass rusher…..no thanks

Our 3rd best receiver had 94 yards last year.

Ninety-four.

Our #1 WR had 129 yards last year.

Buy a ****ing wide receiver.

Dunerdr 09-20-2022 09:01 PM

DKs problem is Geno Smith. They’ll keep the WRs hoping to lure a qb in or have whoever they draft loaded up. Toneys rumored to be a headcase but the talent is there.

htismaqe 09-20-2022 10:15 PM

Ain’t nobody coming through that door right now. It’s week 2.

Bump 09-20-2022 10:20 PM

Honestly don't know. Give the rookie and Watson more snaps before you jump out and trade for a WR. Panthers really suck, you'd think they'd want to trade McCraffrey cheap but his health is a concern and I don't even know if he's the same player, if he is I'd give up a 5th round pick for him if we can afford his contract.

Other than that, I think we pretty good as of right now.

IMO, the Chiefs aren't bringing in anyone with any sort of contract without a restructuring of someone significant and so I wouldn't get overly serious in thinking it's going to happen. Maybe they'll throw a 7th rounder or something at an underperformer or unproven commodity, but a household name seems doubtful at this point.

he's still rehabbing

if we bring him in, i'd say look for it around Week 9

Nick Wright will be ovulating around that time

Mr_Tomahawk 09-20-2022 10:34 PM

Everyone calm down.

It’s been 2 weeks with this group.

oldman 09-20-2022 10:58 PM

I see no need to rush out and sign someone off the street or trade for an anyone at this point. We're 2-0 and will face a depleted Indy this Sunday. As for 2023, we have Ross (WR) on IR and a host of other #6 receivers on the PS. If there is to be any trades or signings, it has to be at the OT slots.

Dante84 09-20-2022 11:37 PM

I don’t think we do it.

I’d doubt we’d make move for another tier-2 WR, since have a handful, so then logically the move would be a Tier 1 WR, on a non-contender, not in the AFC West and probably not the AFC in general.

- DK Metcalf - fits the bill, but would cost a ton in cap next year and draft capital. We’d have to restructure or send back a player to create room now and in the future.

- Tyler Lockett - Tier 2 WR BUT he specializes in moving the chains, deep balls and would be affordable.

- Robbie Anderson - Not elite, but a deep ball specialist who just needs a shot with a good QB.

- Terry McLauren - A dream, but just like Metcalf, he signed for a ton and would cost a ton in pick/s.

- DeAndre Hopkins - not sure if his contract is more affordable since he won’t hit incentives this year, but he’s on a shorter contract. He’s also 30 which Veach hates.

Dante84 09-20-2022 11:45 PM

Oh, and those teams would have to want to trade them, which they won’t, so I’d say it’s very likely not happening.

Looks like Chiefs signed this guy off the Rams practice squad taking the roster spot with Gay going on the suspension list.

JPH83 09-21-2022 01:35 AM

The one guy I got excited about was Toney. I loved him in the draft. He's not polished and I'm not sure he ever will be, but he's ridiculously shifty. I can't see the Giants moving on from him after he had a good rookie season, even if he's nuts, but for a mid-late round pick I'd happily trade.

Couch-Potato 09-21-2022 02:20 AM

OBJ is the guy, if there is one I think.

Unfortunately, he's been on the sidelines with the Bucs and Bills on Sundays so far but not visited our Chiefs :(

Maybe theres a pass rusher out there?

oldman 09-21-2022 05:28 AM

If you're looking ahead to 2023, maybe a wish list is warranted, but any additions to either RBs or WRs won't help us much this year. I don't see many names out there that would be an upgrade to any of our D this year, either.

Looking ahead to '23, we have to upgrade the RT spot and shit or get off the pot with Brown. Either he takes less than top pay or he has to prove he's worth it. So far he hasn't proved it to me.

Thing is we will have to upgrade the DL as well. Even if Karlaftis is as good as advertised and Danna has permanently stepped up, we're wafer thin at DT and on DE depth. Wylie is not a top RT but he's serviceable, especially if he remains a cheap-ish option. OBJ is the big one.

Cadaverous Toney is a head case who can barely crack the Giants lineup and I want nothing to do with a guy like that.

Ninety-four.

Buy a ****ing wide receiver.

So....trade a bunch and pay a bunch for a #1 wide WR......a few months after you just traded one because you didn't want to pay what he wanted.

Guaranteeing the one you get wont be as good as the you traded.....yeah.

They aren't going big at WR.

If you traded for an offensive player, he woudl come in here with no experience in the offense. It's not plug and play.

Would take a while.

He'd definitely lend a hand to our pass rush.

IowaHawkeyeChief 09-21-2022 08:27 AM

We are doing it the right way, sell when they are older, draft and sign when they are younger and cheaper.

This. I have a hard time pining for a skill player after we stomped the Cards and had difficulty protecting our half-billion dollar man against a defense built to stop us. It's not Madden or Fantasy Football, it's the NFL.

If you wanna make a move, it's for a defensive end.

"Line up here and go rush the QB" is pretty easy to figure out.

That's pretty much how I see it. The only problem with that is the cash it would take to obtain and retain one.

Kman34 09-21-2022 08:43 AM

I’d rather trade for a Rt tackle..

It depends.

I would love Quinn but his age and cost may make that not worthwhile unless the Bears look to help some.

If they're gonna do that, I'd rather look at a younger guy on a team that they may not wanna sign or something. But you're giving up a pick in taht situation.

Just look for an older guy somewhere that can spot rush.

I see what you did there.

Vladimir_Kyrilytch 09-21-2022 09:20 AM

I've been scouting other teams. The Vikings have some guy that could probably get some snaps. Justin Jetson. He could work his way onto the field if we picked him up. The Rams have a guy Colt Kupp that also would probably be worth a go route.

I dont know what they would cost. Probably a 2nd round pick. At that price, I say bring in that Andy Donald guy JR was talking about.

KChiefs1 09-21-2022 09:24 AM

The original OBJ.

Other than that, I think we pretty good as of right now.

A 5th round pick gets you Clyde Edwards-Helaire, not Christian McCaffrey

But if you traded next years 1 for Brian Burns and paid him, your defensive rebuild is complete.

The draft is in KC so they won't dump the first round pick

It is fun to dream but -

spotrac.com says we are dead last in salary cap at $276,849. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cap/

overthecap.com says we are 31st with $2,123,742 of cap space.
https://overthecap.com/salary-cap-space

I'm sure there's a contract or two that can be modified to give us some space, but so far Chiefs have not done that.

spotrac probably does not have Butkers restructure accounted for yet.

Wilson8 09-21-2022 10:50 AM

Side note - Also, both spotrac and overthecap have Chad Henne at $2M cap now.

spotrac used to have Chad Henne at $3.5M.

overthecap and spotrac have Butker at $2,736,525

As a denizen of CP I think any player on any other team would be an upgrade and we should trade draft capital for them.

duncan_idaho 09-21-2022 11:22 AM

There are some guys I'm eye-balling.

DE:

Robert Quinn (Bears)
Yannick Ngakoue (Colts)

RT:
Taylor Moton (RT)

Offensive playmakers:

RB Christian McCaffery
WR Robbie Anderson

The ultimate dream is Jeffrey Simmons of the Titans. He's about due for the end of his rookie deal and an extension, but he has exploded into his own. Pairing him and Chris Jones would be ... tasty.

Wilson8 09-21-2022 11:34 AM

I like the Chiefs as they are.

The Chiefs will be OK while Willie Gay is out. Darius Harris, Leo Chenal, and Elijah Lee will step up for KC.

When the 2nd arrest for Frank Clark is settled in the courts, I fully expect the NFL to do some type of a short suspension. The Chiefs kept 6 DEs to help fill that void. If Clark is out, Carlos Dunlap will play more and either Herring or Kaindoh get some playing time.

Trent McDuffie goes down and we have Jaylen Watson stepping up. Joshua Williams is also learning and will help.

Hopefully Lucas Niang will soon be ready to contribute to the OL.

Our RBs are good enough that Ron Jones does not even get to dress for games.

Our WRs are going to continue to get better. Skyy Moore really has not been used that much and we could see a huge improvement from him.

In looking back at posts, I guess this is for next season.

I thought it was for this year.

To clarify, I'm not saying we need to bring anyone in.

I'm just curious what other teams might be getting rid of that could benefit us between now and the start of next season.

I don't see a trade for Clowney as a likely option, although I'd like it.

How about N Suh!? He's still out there, relatively cheap, brings some toughness to our DL!
