Tommy Townsend AFC ST’s Player of the Month

Probably our best player on the field last week. Dude was hitting some bangers.

For all the crap Dave Toub gets, he was a big part of finding this kid. Also that one guy we all miss that is the best kicker in the league not named Justin Tucker.

jesus christ 56 yards a kick

jesus ****ing christ

He's certainly improved since his awful showing in the Super Bowl loss.

Meh.. Kickers.. this doesn’t offset the shit ST play..

He was actually kind of bad his rookie season. Was shocked when we didn't bring in training camp competition last year or this year.

I think he had his first punt downed inside the 5 of his career last week? I could be wrong about that. Good that he's getting more power on his kicks and working on his control. That one he had inside the 5 was good enough to make Colquitt blush. It bounced perfectly.

Yet you don't want to talk about his rocket arm on his fake punts? Nice selective memory, asshole!

(Speaking of, it didn't really work so much on that fake field goal, did it. Cut this prick!)

Moral victories!

Glad to see Tommy get his head straight and get some recognition. Started to worry about him a bit at the end of last season and in preseason. Seemed like he had a punter's version of the yips and that he was mind-f**king himself. Nice to see it was only temporary, he's been nails so far this season. Keep up the good work!

When you can’t move past the 50 on offense, you can put your foot in it.

Rock n Roll hair on a punter lets you know he’s ballin

TomBarndtsTwin 09-29-2022 08:59 AM

Well, great award I guess, but I look at it a different way:

If your punter is winning that award for the month, then your offense hasn't been doing their job (and they haven't the last 2 games).

I hope for all our sakes that he doesn't win another one . . . . . . .

I'm sorry - I just got a flashback to the bad ol' days when Herm Edwards was our coach and we had drives designed to 'set up the punter' who was undeniably our team MVP....

It's still crazy to me that Colquitt was drafted in the Dick Vermiel era. Man that dude stuck around a long time. Our coordinators were Al Saunders and Gunther Cunningham.

Feels like a century ago...

Most of the time if you are thinking about punting. Don't.

Titty Meat 09-29-2022 03:09 PM

Who cares

Rain Man 09-29-2022 03:15 PM

Congrats to him, but if he had not overthrown that pass by ten yards we'd be 3-0. I'm surprised that didn't knock him out of the running.

Pretty sure passing completion % is not a P stat line?

Not gonna lie, this is a giant positive surprise.

I haven't been his biggest fan but hope he is finding his groove

He has been a good FG holder.
