Yeah, his choices were make $6 billion+ dollars and live like a king the rest of his life, or go toe to toe with 31 other powerful criminal empires and their well connected corrupt owners.

Tough call.

I'll repeat... The fact that it is this damn hard to get rid of an owner who is cartoonishly bad in every possible way, including illegal shit, is such a drain on sports.

Owners need to have skin in the game. If this is the bar for how low you need to go before anyone considers selling that's a massive problem. Fans and cities that shower teams with public funding should have at least a tiny bit of accountability

It would be much better if the teams were owned by trusts of the municipalities where they are based. Cities should not be held hostage by a bunch of greedy one who sucks the peniss once their stadium needs its first paint job.

Yeah, that would be nice. I'm not sure I'm a fan of government investing in sports teams as opposed to jobs and housing and that sort of thing, but I guess it could be the college model. The city invests in a sports team because it produces excess revenue that can be used for actual real government purposes.

I still like having some kind of ownership interest, but something along your lines at least ensures the city that bends over backwards for a team at least gets some say. Anything to at least create some accountability. Of course it's all a pipe dream because nfl owners and therefore the league would never allow it

NFL specifically outlawed that as they don't want another Green Bay situation.

Green Bay, the city, is by far the smallest city to have a major sports team. The Packers are communally owned so the NFL can't threaten to move the Packers to say Milwaukee. The NFL basically has no leverage over the city of Green Bay.

You're right dude, there is absolutely no corruption whatsoever in politics, sports or anything else on planet Earth. Everything is on the up and up and the league is run by a close knit group of church choir members. They just like to get together and sing hymns and worship the lord. LMAO

I wouldn't doubt for a second that Snyder has plenty of dirt on quite a few of these ruthless shitheads, and just decided it would be stupid to try and go after the golden goose that feeds 31 of the most powerful men in America and he would just go ahead and take his $6 billion, as any sane person would after the initial anger wore off.

Very true, I'm not sure how the guy thinks he has anything to complain about. Then again, after the initial anger subsided, it seems he realized that too and is going to take his $6 billion dollar golden parachute and get out of everyone's lives.

Imagine being such a blowhard and driving what was once the NFL's most prestigious organization into the ground and coming out of it making $5 billion dollars. Some people really have it rough.

The potential $6B price tag is going to be pushing the limit for even the most wealthy. I'd look for some kind of partnership with a group. That way foreign money could be involved.

The Baltimore Ravens have won as many Super Bowls with Trent Dilfer and Joe Flacco at QB the past 30 years as the Packers have with Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers.

That tells you all you need to know. You should see the mini Vatican City type layout they're building around Lambeau, though! Condos, office buildings, restaurants. If you have money, they'll take it!
