So i have kidney stones
First of all **** kidney stones. Second of all why do I have to deal with this third I went almost 2 days without eating fourth I had to deal with the fact that I had to wait nine hours till i got checked on but the good thing is I'm on the mend. Also I get to watch the chiefs game without using my time off time.
|
You pass it yet? How's your back feel?
|
Flomax will do the trick.
|

God, I feel for ya. Had them last year myself. Wound up in the emergency room. Passed them so all was well, but it made it a big PITA to get my FAA Medical.
|
Watch your corn hole bud
|
I've had two. Those are no fun. The last one I passed. I had to shout it out using karate kiai. It came out with such force that it chipped the ceramic of the commode I used. That stone was about the size of a .22 bullet.
|
I typically grab some pure cranberry juice from like a hippie grocery store and cut it with some water to help with the UI track infection that you'll probably get. Yeah it's bitter as hell but it works out really well.
|
I never had any myself but I hear they are painful as ****. I know my buddy got/gets them all the time. I believe it was from his eating habits which I don't think have changed.
|
My dad had them, my brother had them and my cousin had them. I've never had one. Knock on wood! Get better, nut!

I have had to have 2 of them removed, I wasn't able to pass them. Last one I pulled my own stint out (Dr told me I could, or I could do an office visit and have him do it). That is not something to do if you are faint of heart. Pulling a 5-6' rope from your "pee hole" is not fun.
|
Couple shots of pure lemon juice a day till no issues and then weekly will help.
|
Quit dark soda and tea. Drink more water too.
|
Oh man, I feel for you. I had some 6 years ago and had to hit the ER to have them removed. They were not going to pass on their own. I was on a business trip in Baltimore and ended up in some 3rd world country shit hole hospital. I woke up and had blood rolling out my Johnson. The hack doctor had botched the operation.
I flew home and had to go to the local hospital and have them go in for round two. This doc got them, but I woke up and had about two inches of plastic tubing hanging out of my Johnson. Turns out it had to be there to help the flow or something, until things healed, can't remember exactly. I went in about a week later for a follow up and was informed I had to pull it out myself at home. I asked the doc if I should pull it out slowly, or give it a crank, like I'm starting a lawn mower. He said do it slow. I got home, took some Advil, waited an hour and went to work on it. 24 inches later, it was out. Not a great experience to say the least. |

When they pulled my stint I started crying. Needed a towel so I could keep crying into it. I think I’ve cried about 3-4x in life and that was one |
You have my sympathy sir. Drink lots of water and cut out the soft drinks!

When she went in to get stint removed the nurses were late because they were doing the same for another patient before her. Wife said the guy was screaming and sounded like someone was being violently murdered. When nurse came in she apologized for the delay but they had to pull in the entire staff to help subdue the guy while his was being removed. He had apparently been molested as a child and was having extreme PTSD from having the stint removed. |

“stent”.

If you’re a candidate, use lithotripsy. You get sedation, 4000 shocks and (most importantly) no stent.
Efficacy is about 85%. Unless your stone burden is high you need percutaneous neph procedure. But unless you need that and your not in danger of going septic, it’s lithotripsy all the way. |

So, why do people get kidney stones? I've never had one myself. Is it drinking too much pop or energy drinks or something like that?
|
Sometimes it hereditary. Sometimes infection. Sometimes it’s too much green leafy type foods. The introduction of high fructose corn syrup into everything is another cause. But folks simply don’t hydrate enough. Especially since the pandemic. Water fountains were closed and going everywhere in a mask didn’t exactly make it easy to get enough water through the day.
Stone analysis is usually done on the fragments to determine type. After that, consultation with your physician can give insight into your diet and what to avoid. |
Sooo....drink lots of water to avid kidney stones. Got it.

Nut isn’t a woman, so bawan’s tale is probably closest to what the poor bastard is experiencing. The object of the game, is to get the stone out of the channel of our our friends cock. However, sometimes said stones are covered with barbs, that don’t exactly pass out as smoothly as one would wish. Here is where the pain becomes excruciatingly worse.

Ironically I encountered mine trying to get healthier. I had drank 2 of the 2 liter bottles of mountain dew per day for about 20 years. Decided to give it up and started drinking Gatorade and water. During the rehydration and sort of re inflation of my kidneys, it dislodged a stone while I was at work. I had gone to the restroom before the stabbing pain started, and I thought I was having a diabetic problem, because it looked like I was pissing pure sugar. It turned out to be a sort of sand related to this, and when I went back into the truck to resume unloading, the constant twisting and turning finally dislodged the stone and it felt like a knife in my back being dragged and twisted. I was pale, sweaty, couldn't get a good deep breath, and my boss who was so a good friend was asking me questions and I told him about pissing what looked Ike sugar earlier, and he told me it was a kidney stone and that I should go to the ER. Well my no Insurance having ass didn't go, and I had to pass that ****er at home. Most painful 8 hours of my life. |
Damn, this thread is scary. Drink more water, folks. Less soda.
|
Nut have you tried drinking some Mt Dew Rise for immunity and focus??
|
Dealt with this about 3 years ago and it was just awful. Worst pain I've ever experienced in my life.
Had a woman tell me it was worse for her than giving birth. |
Don’t take drinking water for granite

I didn’t know what was happening to me as I’d never heard of a kidney stone. I had increasing pain in my nuts and I thought I might have Louie Aguilar ball cancer. When it hit me I was rolling face down in our master bath puking like a dog. My 4 year old came in and I thought “imma gonna f**img die in front of my kid” Rushed to ER. Doc said it’s a kidney stone, they get several a week in there. Hit me with morphine, I started to fall asleep and BAM. Screaming my head off, 3 male nurses pinning me to the bed. It’s indescribable |
Do you eat a lot of cheese? That is what I found out to be my reason for da stones. I have been in serious pain twice from these kidney stones. The first time I really thought, well this is it. Something has failed internally and I'm toast. That's how bad the pain was. After 12 hours I went to the ER at 3 am and these mother ****ers made me wait until 8 am before they took me in. There was just me and some elderly lady in a wheel chair in the waiting room. They did a scan and told me I had da stones. Gave me a prescription that made the pain go away almost instantly. I passed the stone the next morning. Warm water makes the pain go away. The second time I knew what to do. Jump in the bathtub in as warm of water as you can handle. The pain goes away with the heat and I believe breaks in down so (in my case) it passes quickly. The most pain I have ever been it. I don't eat pizzas anymore. It's not worth it. :thumb:

I felt like a pussy passing my 2mm stone lol . Drinking water was the one thing I heard the most , also heard drinking more beer but not sure how official that recommendation is. |

The human ureters are pretty amazing. Average of 3mm circumference I’ve seen stones as large 2.3cm in circumference formed in them. Crazy stuff. |
If you have chronic stones, especially if they're large or have consistently gotten larger since you first started having them, ask your doctor to make sure your calcium levels are normal. It's not common but in some cases it's not because of anything you're doing, your body is just betraying you like a no-good rat bastard.

I don't fear much, but two of my uncommon, weird fears would be:
1. Having to pass a kidney stone 2. Sink holes. |

I just happened to see an article about stones with a pic of one under a microscope.
Feast your eyes. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FA8shxjWEAojtd5.jpg My wife has given birth 3 times, a couple of ectopic pregnancies, but kidney stones were the worst thing she has ever went through. The drive to the ER sucked. |
Had it for the first time in the spring. Had it during the middle of school.
Had to leave my classroom and students mid-period. Brutal. As STaylor said, worst pain of my life. They gave me morphine and it did nothing. If it really is as bad as childbirth than good bless women everywhere. Feeling for you. |

Don't like water? LMAO Over 60% of your body is water. Don't hate yourself, nut. Try one of those water flavor things where you put a couple drops of fruit flavor in it. You gotta drink enough daily water, it's incredibly important.

I've had both, pancreatitis once from too much alcohol and gout about 8-9 times. Gout is prolonged burning pain and inability to get rid of it. It's like having shards of glass lodged in your joints. Mine has been on toes, elbow and ankle at different flareups. Pancreatitus is a mother ****er of sudden incredible pain that cuts across your abdomen for 30-60 seconds, feels like someone is twisting your upper GI into knots, takes your breath away, made me cry, and then goes away only to repeat this numerous times per hour for 16-28 hours. Your pancreas goes through spasms. I don't want or need to get stones for comparison. I'll take everone's word on the pain. Pancreatitis was a 15 on a 1-10 scale. I never want that again, ever. Not even for $5,000,000 |
I drink a gallon of water a day. No way I’m risking this.

Foods and beverage that are high in oxalate can lead to the formation of calcium oxalate stones, which are the majority of stone types. Leafy greens, tea, and chocolate all contain high levels of oxalate.
I've had them three times. I never found Flomax to be terribly effective, and some of its side effects suck. Increased water intake and decreasing soda and tea consumption as SupDock mentioned, is the best course of action. |
Oh shit.
Be careful pal. Big nasty jack off shoot neoghbors dog dead across road. You can’t leave ammo in that cannon. Now joke over…everyone I know that’s had these says they’re awful. I’ve see some tough dudes crawling on the floor with them. |
i don't think i have anymore but pooped enough time to power me to belize. i feel so tired.
|
I've had two kidney stones the past decade myself. Painful things, those are. Had to go to the ER for morphine to pass them both times.
|
In my 20s and 30s I had on average one kidney stone per year. Passed them all. Painful.
Stopped drinking soda… My kidney stones were less frequent, but much larger! Couldn’t pass em. Lithotripsy and stents. Terrible! Went back on soda, and now they’re smaller again. Doc said I’d have fewer as I got older as the kidneys naturally filter less well and it’s true! Probably one every 5 years now. I’ll take it! |
