Perfect usage of the RBs

Finally!

Finally the Chiefs stopped that 3 back bullshit and did exactly what they needed by letting Pacheco be the actual starter. He didn't return any kick offs and was the main back. He got but 2 of the carries from the RB position. Then they had McKinnon as the 3rd down back and let him do what he does best, pass block and catch the football.

It was perfect!

And the biggest thing that happened today?! CEH had less snaps than our FB. I love it.

Yeah, giving Pacheco a chance to get into a rhythm seemed to make a difference.

Holes being opened by the OL where there was suppose to be a hole played a bigger role.

One day soon Pacheco is gonna bust a 50+ yarder, and I'm so here for it

Or hitting them with purpose instead of a snail's pace.

1)Running does in fact take reps in game to pay dividends. You can't just run it once every ten plays. Guys have to get in the flow.

2)OL played much better. Most of the game without Wylie. Coincidence? I think not. Wylie blows goats. Prince was clearly better.

3)Pacheco just runs so damned angry. I love it.

He's fast enough to hit the hole and get into the open space, and has enough athletic ability to maneuver around and get those extra yards. It's not like he's Shady McCoy in his prime, but man it's a breath of fresh air to see some competency.

Yup, linemen can't just flip a switch when it comes to run blocking, and the same holds true for runners

Otter 11-13-2022 03:32 PM

Something tells me CEH isn't the #1 except on the depth chart anymore.

Wiley being out helped Trey a ****ton because it lessened his responsibilities saving his ass

MEH isn't even #1 on the actual depth chart. Pacheco was named the starter last week.

Megatron96 11-13-2022 03:36 PM

Biggest difference I saw was that Pacheco didn't bail on the hole too early. He waited for it to open, then put his foot in the ground and turned it upfield. Did a great job. Hope that continues for the rest of the season. With all of our RBs would be even better.

I don't want to see him take another snap with this team.

=

called 42 passes and 20 runs

FloridaMan88 11-13-2022 03:39 PM

Might as well give RoJo a chance to be active over CEH as the #3 RB and see if he can help in short yardage plays.

trndobrd 11-13-2022 03:45 PM

Good to see Pacheco get fired up after the early fumble and run stronger and meaner.

Shades of Kareem's first start

Oh Snap 11-13-2022 04:19 PM

Love me some Pacheco. He reminds me a little like Jamaal Charles. He will be a star in this league. Glad he got the fumble out of the way and that it was against the Jags.

As much as I hate to say it, CEH has been a draft bust for the chiefs.

Dude great call earlier, but he is NOTHING like Charles stylistically

At this point, he is fine for depth/breather and hopefully there are games that KC has a commanding fourth quarter lead...

mnchiefsguy 11-13-2022 04:57 PM

I think we are getting to the meat of the season, and it is go time. Andy is tired of messing around with CEH....I think McKinnon and Pacheo are the future of the season moving forward.

Plus, the very nature of the RPO means a portion of the run plays would wind up being pass-blocked.
