Dak and the 2022 Cowboys

I got into a somewhat heated discussion earlier today about Dak Prescott and the Cowboys. I still hold to the belief that Dak is overrated
and folds under pressure like a cheap lawn chair. I have a very intense hatred for the Cowboys and sometimes let it override a true perspective on their playing.
How does everyone here see it? Is Prescott finally on the cusp of true NFL stardom? Do the Cowboys have what it takes to win in this year's playoffs?
What say ye?

Halfcan 12-07-2022 07:51 PM

That defense is for reals! I would hate to see Brown and Wylie trying to block them in the SB.

Sofa King 12-07-2022 07:53 PM

No and no. He's black Kurt Cousins.

DRM08 12-07-2022 07:54 PM

They have given him a loaded roster. They have plenty of talent to win a ring pretty soon. Will be funny if they don't get the job done.

Dak isn’t winning a SB.

scho63 12-07-2022 07:57 PM

Until he wins a big game under pressure, he's a cusp player. Very good but not a superstar.

I don't trust him.

As a team, the Cowboys look fierce.

We can rinse and repeat this answer for next year too.

KCUnited 12-07-2022 08:05 PM

Biggest achievement Dak will achieve is being mistaken for Patrick Mahomes by a teammates toddler

FYP

Pablo 12-07-2022 08:09 PM

Just remind this guy his real name is Dakota and call him that until he earns Dak via SB ring.

Hammock Parties 12-07-2022 08:15 PM

we should be rooting hard for the vikings

by far the best matchup for us

louie aguiar 12-07-2022 08:22 PM

Cowboys eagles nfccg should be a great game

Red Dawg 12-07-2022 08:24 PM

Just take out Brady. Thats all I ask of Dallas.

Titty Meat 12-07-2022 08:38 PM

I'd chin check a mother ****er who disagrees about Dak & the Cowboys with me

Dak is absolutely overrated.

Any Cowboys QB is on the cusp of stardom.

The Cowboys D is for real and the NFC is weak so even Dak might win a playoff game or two.

I say the Chiefs are my favorite football team.

backinblack 12-07-2022 09:50 PM

idk I've heard it's their year

Gary Cooper 12-07-2022 09:56 PM

With that pass rush, Prescott isn't needed to deliver much. They can win this season just by dominating the LOS on defense. You have to run the ball to slow their pass rushers down.

TribalElder 12-07-2022 09:56 PM

DAK is garbage

Bump 12-07-2022 09:58 PM

The Cowboys are legit, I think when it comes down to the playoffs they can beat the Eagles or the Vikings (or any other NFC team).

Parsons is truly a game changer for them, he can win them playoff games with the plays he can make. The only linebacker that I can think of that you could even try to compare to LT.

Also, I didn't want to mention it. But that Diggs guy is also really really ****ing good, taken pretty soon after CEH.

Why Not? 12-07-2022 10:00 PM

There are pros and cons to being the QB of the Dallas Cowboys and the publicity that comes with it. If Dak were the QB of the Browns, nobody would give a shit about his playoff record or what have you. Case in point, Andy Dalton. He never really won anything or accomplished much outside of taking the Bengals into the playoffs (which was an accomplishment of sorts on it's own, back then) but no one really cared and he's certainly not labeled as an underachiever or a "choker". But he was the QB of the Bengals. No one really cared, his contract status was never really a talking point in the media and his owner, albeit a cheapskate, pretty much kept his mouth shut.

Not so with Dak. He plays for probably the most recognizable franchise in the league, his contract has been a major talking point, and his owner brings tons of attention (wanted or otherwise) on him and his team. The only way Dak will ever be looked at as anything other than an underachiever and a "choker" will be to at the minimum, get Dallas to a SB but really, he'll probably need to win one. Too much? Sorry, should've asked to be traded to the Jaguars a few years ago.

Bump 12-07-2022 10:06 PM

I also hate the Cowboys, but damn they do have talent.

I'm thinking more Micah Parsons will be more of a game changer than Dak.

S+ tier: Mahomes
S tier: Allen
A tier: probably Herbert, Burrow, Hurts

then below that you might have Dak. he's capable of putting big numbers but chokes, is inconsistent, ya. He's probably a bottom B tier QB.

But I can see Parsons kind of taking over games in the playoffs and their offense just has to be able to do enough to complement their defense.

ChiefsCountry 12-07-2022 10:17 PM

If you put Burrow on the Cowboys they would be hands down favorite to win the Super Bowl. It would even be tough for Pat to do his thing against them even.

JohnnyHammersticks 12-07-2022 10:18 PM

I think they have a really balanced, strong team. Dak isn't elite, but he's probably just one level below it. I think they'd be a tough matchup for us in the SB and it would probably be a great game.

Dallas has a loaded roster on both sides of the ball. Mahomes would never lose a game with that roster IMHO.

tk13 12-07-2022 11:56 PM

I've been saying for a few weeks now this might be their year. They have a truly elite defense and their conference sucks. That defense might be enough to carry them far. But it is up to Dak. He doesn't have to go off, but he has to succeed in clutch moments or the Eagles or Brady will pick them off. Eagles have a lot of talent all over the field too.

NFC title game very well could end up being Philly vs. Dallas. Two NFC East teams in the 2022 conference title game? I'm guessing pretty much nobody had that scenario on their NFL bingo card a year ago, lol

Going to take an upset in the wild card round for that to happen.

TimeForWasp 12-08-2022 04:23 AM

I predict the Commies beat them in the playoffs.

It's looking like they're on a collision course for the Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round. They are 0-2 against the Bucs since Brady came to town so it'll be tough.

Personally, I actually hope they beat go far in the playoffs this year. They've got a ton of likeable guys on their squad. Their fans are the ones that are annoying.

Trent Dilfer, Flacco, Rypien and the worst QB season ever Peyton manning disagree. The team he's on team could win the SB even if he just is average.

Easy 6 12-08-2022 07:41 AM

Always likened him to Alex Smith skill wise, albeit with a better willingness to uncork long balls

dallaschiefsfan 12-08-2022 07:49 AM

Local fans are used to this time of year. They're feeling good. Next step...disappointment in the playoffs. It's a cycle. This has all happened before. This will all happen again. Some offensive strategist in the NFC will find a way to slow down Parsons for a single game and exploit Diggs over-aggressiveness...and that will be it for the Cowboys. Dak can't put the team on his back. Jerry Jones deserves to go to the grave knowing he couldn't bring a SB without Jimmy. He's a terrible human being.

I don't know. We'll see, but it's looking like a virtual certainty that the Boys will face the Bucs in the first round and I don't think Todd Bowles and Byron Leftwich are capable of doing that.

Chris Meck 12-08-2022 07:59 AM

If we were to meet them in the Super Bowl, I would be extremely concerned about our OT's versus their pass rush.

loochy 12-08-2022 08:28 AM

Dak is very Alex Smithian. He's not winning the games for them. They might go far, but it won't be because he dragged them there.

Diggs is overrated. Gave up a ridiculously easy touchdown vs Matt Ryan and the Colts. He takes too many chances. Can be taken advantage of.

I have loads of confidence in my football team, just not in Orlando Brown's likely success in handling Micah Parsons.

And Wiley just plain blows goats.

Megatron96 12-08-2022 10:54 AM

Dak is better than Kirk Cousins. I can't precisely say to what degree because the difference isn't that big, but if I had to pick between the two for my imaginary football team, I'd pick Dak every time, and I would never have to think about it.

The OL needs to be stronger, no question about that. Parsons did have some success getting to Mahomes in that game last year. That was also right in the middle of Mahomes' big slump where he just wasn't playing very well. He's playing at a higher level these days, which would be helpful in a potential rematch.

Some what true. But I do not believe they have anywhere near the same offensive coaching staff. So maybe a wash offensively the Defense would be nice.

We beat a 49er team that’s much better than the Cowboys.

cdcox 12-08-2022 10:56 PM

One of these teams will most likely win the Super Bowl.

Chiefs
Bills
Bengals
Titians*
Dolphins

Eagles
49ers
Cowboys
Vikings*

*not buying it but listed for completion
