Tyreek Hill Does It Again

So, I looked on the first couple of pages looking for a good thread to share this in, and I didn't see one. I also didn't see it mentioned in other threads, so I thought I would just make a quick thread for it.

This should look very familiar to Chiefs fans. Hill is obviously a tremendous, 1 of 1 talent, but I don't believe I have ever seen another receiver do this as often as Tyreek does it.

Forward to 7:26 if the embed doesn't, and you will see what I am talking about.

His mind seemed elsewhere today.

On the play before, he cost Miami a first down because he didn’t get set before the snap. Just a game swinging sequence by Reek there.

He's got a bad attitude and I expect it to get worse if the Dolphins continue to miss the playoffs in the upcoming seasons.

ThyKingdomCome15 01-02-2023 02:58 AM

I think Shannon Sharpe said it best shortly after the trade, referring to playing in KC. "I hope Tyreek understands his life isn't going to be the same." Man he was right.

threebag 01-02-2023 03:03 AM

Later Tyreek, welcome aboard draft picks and cap space

BWillie 01-02-2023 03:04 AM

2nd best WR in the game. Great player.

RaidersOftheCellar 01-02-2023 04:52 AM

Tyreek’s bringing back his patented bobbled INT? Just in time to ruin his team’s season like last year!

He knows he screwed up. Hence the crying to Shannon Sharpe. I’m betting he isn’t very happy about the way the season is finishing either, especially after the way they started.

Eleazar 01-02-2023 06:46 AM

Third place team, perhaps no playoffs.

The grass isn’t always greener, even if the money is.

Gravedigger 01-02-2023 06:51 AM

When he said he did what he did due to targets I knew we weren’t going to get a serious answer out of him. Leaving Patrick Mahomes is a foolish decision, one that Kelce and others won’t be foolish enough to make.

Hog's Gone Fishin 01-02-2023 06:52 AM

I hope he gets to watch PMII win the SB this year, you know, like the 1st year after his departure.

He just wants to be seen as something other than a money-first player.

RealSNR 01-02-2023 08:14 AM

I'll bet he thinks his coach is super cool

Buehler445 01-02-2023 08:24 AM

Man, that's a bad look.

Way back when he was getting targeted 3,000 times a game, I'm on wax here saying that probably won't last. I thought it might be injuries at his age, but the reality is that it is ****ing hard. If nothing else, the grind is ****ing hard.

Kelce talked about that in the New Heights podcast, and I always thought it but **** that I could do it (like we all do, right?) but all these guys have taken a lot of extra snaps the last several years.

And we've seen it with our team, we start off blowing bitches doors off, and then we hit a lull. Or dump one like the god ****ing Colts game :cuss:.

It's just going to happen. Because it's damned hard to win, and by extension, damned hard to play at the level Hill has.

Skyy God 01-02-2023 08:31 AM

Got a little PTSD from that clip.

Hard to have a bad attitude when he got what he wanted.

If he wants to be in the playoffs every year she should not have traded his lambo for a pinto.

ChiefBlueCFC 01-02-2023 09:29 AM

Saw this “highlight” yesterday and thought hmm, that looked familiar.

As soon as I saw that from post game highlights, I developed a big grin on my face.

Wonder if the WR market will cool off this year after seeing what happens when teams sell out for one. Adams went to the Raiders, and their QB was basically cut in week 16. Hill went to the Dolphins, and they may not even match their record from last year.

It's went pretty well for Philly though.

I think as long as it's legit "top of the line guys" you'll still have some money thrown around.

Maybe, maybe not.

Adams leaves the Packers and they've looked horrendous.

Lots of young QBs out there who need special talents to help them grow.

etc etc

Some systems, honestly, just need top end WRs more than others. Tua legit needs them, and Hill makes a ton of sense in Miami -- I don't know if it's $30m/year sense, but hey.

Other systems don't need them as much.

But so long as you have those first systems throughout the league, they're going to command some dollars.

I don’t care that Tyreek Hill is a money-first player. This was his chance to get a big contract. He took it. Legitimate decision, understandable way for a man to run his life.

Just don’t act like you’re about team, family, or heart. Don’t act like you weren’t getting the ball, that the team that made you was misusing you, that Andy and Patrick and co. were running some kind of toxic work environment. Just be who you are and don’t insult the fan base or the team that gave you your shot, and that considered you a legend.

Looks kind of pathetic, really.

Redbled 01-02-2023 10:09 AM

Seems like Tyreek did about 5 of those to Mahomes last year.

I hope.

When all those teams were looking good I was thinking it's time to draft about 3 a year, but hopefully teams are going to remember it's about the QB stupid.

And the team that was supposed to be lost without their star studded wr that they traded has the qb who has thrown for the most touchdowns, yards, higher qb rating and is considered by many to be the MVP.

Hammock Parties 01-02-2023 12:07 PM

tyreek just isn't an upper echelon hands guy

you feed him the ball this much, this is what happens

it's why kelce was the real #1 here

At least, and it seems like they were all in the red zone. The one in the Super Bowl was the same way, although he made up for it on Wasp.

ntexascardfan 01-02-2023 01:26 PM

He sold out for the bag and that's fine. He's just not going to enjoy the success in Miami he would've had in KC.

In the end, I think it's going to work out well for us. Toney is going to be a good replacement, I hope we extend Juju, and I believe Moore is going to be an impact player next season.

Losing Hill freed up Mahomes to spread the ball around more. Mahomes will end up setting a career mark this year for completions, completion percentage, and yards.

ThyKingdomCome15 01-02-2023 01:35 PM

Tyreek has habit of letting the ball get in to his body and essentially muffling it.

I remember one time the Chiefs were in the Super Bowl. Patrick rolled out and threw a miraculous pass that hit Tyreek in the face mask. It would have been a long TD. He didn't have his hands up.

There was this other time we were playing CIN in the AFCC. It was OT. Mahomes launched one to Tyreek, albeit it was double coverage. However, the first guy was beat. If Tyreek high points the ball in that situation LIKE HE'S EXPECTED TO, then the Chiefs move on to the Super Bowl.

Tyreek is the single most explosive player I've ever seen. But from time to time he'll wreck your team. I understand it happens to everybody, Kelce's fumble against CIN this year. But when it's habitual in the the way it happens with Tyreek, it's a real problem.

BWillie 01-02-2023 01:43 PM

I don't know why people are mocking Tyreek Hill. He got everything he wanted. He doesn't care if he wins or not. He got the money, check. He's the star of South Beach and has the attention, check. He had a career year, check.

Pitt Gorilla 01-02-2023 01:44 PM

Yeah, I saw that and it brought back bad memories. He's a great player and did great things for us, but I won't miss that.

We'll see if he can go two weeks without bringing up the Chiefs on a podcast, completely unprompted, and just pointing out, insisting, and doubling down that he made, 100%, completely the right decision to leave and would absolutely, positively do it again if he had to.

The NFL subreddit, which is pretty anti-Kansas City with how successful we've been since 2018, is even calling Tyreek out for it now.

MVS and Hardman could provide the vertical threat except they don't scare anyone. Outside of injuries there's little chemistry with Pat that I see.

I don't see any future here for MH and can't recall the contract for MVS but I don't think he's any time long term answer. I'd like to see Juju resign for a reasonable contract and wouldn't mind seeing Juju, Skye, and Tonye starting with Kelce opening day next year with a free agent or a draft pick playing 4th wr.

Reek got exactly what he wanted, money.

For any of us who says we would do it differently if we had that kind of talent, I call BS.

He also I feel want to be the man and it wouldn't happen in KC. Patrick was doing the big commercials. Reek was doing fly-by-night car loans and title loan commercials. I have a feeling in Miami that has changed.

Which is fine. Really, I get it.

I think what has so many irritated w/Tyreek is that he's made it a point to--repeatedly--talk about how he wasn't treated right in KC. Which is absolutely not true.

Just admit that you wanted the money. Nobody faults you for that. But when you start spewing the kind of BS that he has, then don't be surprised if people start taking offense.

Not that Reek cares what we think, I'm sure. But that's where many of us are coming from.

You have a good point.

But maybe things have changed on that. See Marshawn Lynch as an example. Also cgi.

I've seen multiple people make this argument and it's dumb. Anyone with an ego the size of Hill's wants maximum recognition and attention. He's not getting maximum recognition and attention without division wins, playoff wins and Super Bowl wins.

Wisconsin_Chief 01-02-2023 06:39 PM

The simple fact is Tyreek had been spoiled playing his whole career in KC under a Hall of Fame head coach. He honest to God thought he was going to stroll into Miami with that nerd of a rookie coach and they were just going to rip up the league like this is Madden.

He thought winning in the NFL was easy, and he was the key that made the car go. Reality can be a bitch. Davante Adams feels your pain, Ty. Hey, at least you have all the money and as much big city club ass as you can handle. Enjoy it! Pat will just be in little ol’ KC, winning MVPs and Super Bowls without you. :)
