Bengals laying some big odds-could be a good hedge bet? I don't gamble, so consider this a free tip.

That’s not what hedging is. Also hedging is so negative EV it’s not even funny.

I don't see it, personally. We are too inconsistent this year, special teams routinely fail us, both the offense and defense will take a half off from time to time. You can get away with that stuff against the Broncos but not in the postseason. Seems like Philly, Buffalo, and Cincy should probably be ahead of us to me.

Of course, if we play a complete game we're unstoppable, we just haven't shown the propensity to bring our A game or even our B game consistently this year.

Hammock Parties 01-04-2023 08:53 AM

for ****'s sake the bengals almost lost to the patriots two weeks ago LMAO

the bears were within a score of the bills in the 4th quarter

every team has warts

have some ****ing pride

this eeyore, woe is us shit over a 14-3 team is ****ing ridiculous

I think it probably comes down to the assumption we beat the Raiders and get the bye. A week off and this team will be rejuvenated. Plus it would force the Bengals and bills to play each other potentially before us. That's a pretty big advantage.

We have the best record in the NFL.

Playoffs are another gear and we have the horses to hit that gear.

Yeah, it is a big advantage. But you can't watch us miss kicks and XPs all season, turn the ball over on special teams, or play (2) barnburners with the Broncos, and another where the worst team in the league takes us to overtime just in recent weeks, and have confidence of us making a deep run. Inconsistency and special teams gaffes every week don't fly in the playoffs.

We've also famously lost to the Bengals 3 times in the last calendar year, and the Bills already beat us earlier in this year. Hard to claim we're their betters.

It's not crazy to think we are not some sort of runaway favorite in the AFC. Team needs to sack up and play like they can play before confidence will return.

BleedingRed 01-04-2023 09:15 AM

is this before or after Bill's cry themselves to the one seed?

Chiefs have emerged as the betting favorite to be my favorite professional football team

tx4chiefs 01-04-2023 09:34 AM

The Bills are now going to win the Super Bowl. The NFL will make sure of it, just like they did with New Orleans, after Hurricane Rita.

They are definitely the sentimental favorite now. Don't be surprised when the funny flags fly for Buffalo and against us. They been wanting to crown those mofos all year anyway, now they have a vehicle to do it. Even changed the OT rules for poor widdle jawwwsh

So the Bills will win the 2028 Super Bowl?

I don’t doubt it with your Debbie Downer ass. Have you seen any other teams play this year? Chiefs have lost 3 games by a total of 10 points. Go put your head in the sand again loser!

Buffalo and Cincinnati are just as inconsistent as we are and Philadelphia's QB is hurt.

I'm not saying it isn't possible, and certainly I hope it does happen, but winning three games in a row against top opponents, two likely being teams we've already lost to this year, with the inconsistent way we're playing recently doesn't seem very likely. If we snap out of it, sure. We can beat anyone any week.

Well, yeah. It is unlikely for every team to win the Super Bowl. Only one can do it each year.

Vegas just seems to think we've got the best shot of any team, likely because it's looking like we'll luck into the #1 seed, which means we'd only have to win three playoff games total as opposed to four.

Maybe consider it a different way. Do you think it's likely that the Bills would beat the Patriots, then the Chargers, then the Chiefs, then the Eagles? Or that the Bengals would be likely to beat the Ravens, then the Bills, then the Chiefs, then the Cowboys?

If we get it, we earned the shit. will be 10 out of last 11 and 6 in a row. It ain't our fault they didn't play the game. I think Buffalo was about to get their ass kicked anyway. And I hope the Pats kick their asses!!!!

Said differently:

Would you take the Chiefs or the field? The field.

Which individual team would you take over the Chiefs? Not many.

If the Chiefs get the 1 seed, they won't be playing both...

Man, if the Chiefs get the 1 seed and the only thing standing between them and another home AFCCG is the Ravens or Jaguars…holy shit.

People would be so pissed lol

Realistically, though, we will almost certainly have to beat at least one of the Bills, Bengals or Chargers. Good chance we have to beat two of them to make it to the big game.

I think we get the 1 seed, but I don't see a likely scenario in which we can avoid all of the Bengals, Bills and Chargers.

If the Season ended today

#1 Chiefs vs Bye
#2Bills vs #7 Patriots
#3 Bengals vs #6 Ravens
#4 Jaguars vs #5 Chargers

If Patriots win, we play them round #2
If Bills win, we play the lower seeded winner #4, #5, #6 (my most likely is #5 Chargers) in round 2

Most likely Bills play Bengals in round #2.

There is no way possible way we play Chargers, Bills and Bengals

It's a shame the Ravens didn't win out. I'd much rather play the winner of them and the Jags and let the Bills/Bengals/Chargers all beat each other out.
