Compared to other teams, we are surprisingly healthy at this point.
|
Eric Berry and Sammy Watkins are still day to day.
|
You’re never going to be fully healthy, but this is about as good as you could hope for heading into the bye.
That’s an A+ regular season. |

Healthiest season I can ever remember from this team.
Like, our worst injuries were to a RB we didn't like anyway, a backup DT and a blocking TE. |
No one's ready for the Hardman-Toney plays.
Toney will throw a TD to Hardman this postseason. Toney has a CANNON. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Andy Reid also said Mecole Hardman is getting better, despite not playing Saturday. The Chiefs didn't want to push it with Hardman, who is trending toward being available for next week's game in the divisional round. <a href="https://t.co/mFL9hQlV8E">https://t.co/mFL9hQlV8E</a></p>— Nate Taylor (@ByNateTaylor) <a href="https://twitter.com/ByNateTaylor/status/1612524411420033024?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 9, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |

What about Thuney? He had an injury and then went out again. Is he still on the injury report?

I don’t believe for one second that Hardman is ready to go.
|
Sure would be nice if the dolphins or ravens could pull an upset. Prefer to avoid the chargers.
|
Really looking like Lamar won’t play.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Lamar Jackson is still dealing with “extreme swelling” and remains “pretty limited,” a source tells <a href="https://twitter.com/theScore?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@theScore</a>. Can someone remind me, what happened to Jody Fortson?

Did a bit more digging, he dislocated his elbow. |
Let's see......much younger team........many fewer injuries. Hmmmmm.....

Seems like it would be easier for the Dolphins to list who is NOT injured.
|
Nobody wants to see the Chargers again for a number of reasons.
|
Not that we need it, or even want it to happen since we are likely shopping him this offseason, but do we open CEH's 3-week IR-Return window after this week as a backstop in case we need a RB in the SB?

I think a lot of people are just not feeling confident in Trevor Lawrence after his performance in week 18. It was a win-and-in situation and he played like a bag of smashed assholes. Plus, the Chargers are getting healthy and hot at just the right time. |

The Jaguars will pimp slap the Chargers again, because they, unlike KC, have no reservations about shoving the football up the ass of a team that is horrible against the run.
Etienne will have a big day, taking all the pressure off Sunshine and he will essentially do what Lamar Jackson has done to look good as a passer, and destroy them through play action. Keenan Allen didn't play the first contest, but Mike Williams only had the 1 catch for 15 yards and a td, while being targeted 6 times. Not sure if he was gimpy that game, or if the Jags simply erased him, but the Jags logged 9 pass deflections in that game as they were all over the Charger receivers. Herbert an Lawrence are both playing their first playoff games, so both will probably be big bundles of nerves. The Jaguar rushing attack vs the terrible run defense of the Chargers will be the difference. |
no matter who wins i think the chiefs have a huge advantage, in that mecole hardman didn't play in either game, and toney didn't play against the chargers and barely played against jacksonville
the chiefs played both of these teams so recently there's not a lot of surprises in gameplanning coming - both teams are who they are, in my mind, and so are the chiefs - who are just simply better, and with more ammo than they had in either of the last two games against these teams joey bosa is an X-factor but the Chiefs OL is playing so much better than it did early, it doesn't worry me chiefs win by double digits in the divisional round, guaranteed |

Seems like a PR statement. 0% chance Lamar actually used to words to describe his PCL strain. |

He probably typed it. He just used the doctor's notes on his injury. If a PR guy wrote that, fire him. I mean what a slap in the face to your teammates and backup qb.

I want Lamar Jackson to go to the Dolphins just to hear Tyreek try to make the case about him being the most accurate QB in the league.
|
I like Lamar, hes a good dude. He wants to be out there for his team but he also knows they dont have much of a chance without him. Probably shouldnt have said that but he was honest.
The Ravens have played this to perfection at Lamars expense. They knew with his style of play they were likely to get 3-4 years out of him before the injuries started to pile up and here we are. I get not wanting to pay an agent to save money but that will end up costing him way more in the long run. He may never see the kind of money that was being talked about. |
bye bye
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Chargers’ WR Mike Williams suffered a fracture in his back last Sunday that is expected to sideline him the next two to three weeks, meaning that, barring an LA Super-Bowl run, his season is over, per <a href="https://twitter.com/LindseyThiry?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@LindseyThiry</a>.</p>— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1613951853762600960?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 13, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
Chargers with Mike Williams this season: 8-2
Chargers without Mike Williams: 2-4 |
Fireable offense by Staley to play Mike Williams last week.
|
Broken back in a meaningless game. He got "Staleyed". That's how the NFL needs to refer to similar pointless injuries going forward. "How many players do you think will get Staleyed in this pre-season game?"
|
Not only is he likely out the rest of the season, but a back injury like that can linger for a very long time. Staley should be fired.

I'm guessing Reid and Co. have been game planning all week for Jax and LA. Far less chances of upsets this year. |
Quote:
The only way this hurts the Chiefs is if Baltimore somehow wins this weekend, then the Bills play the Chargers without Williams (assuming they beat Jacksonville that is). |

“In this league, everybody is pretty much banged up, hurt,” receiver Sammy Watkins told Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post on Wednesday. “I don’t want to speak for him and his situation and whatever he’s going through with the contracts. I don’t know what world he’s in. But for me, you got a chance to do something special. We all know with Lamar Jackson out there, this team is really freaking good, and special things can happen. He can will this team to a Super Bowl. I don’t think he’s thinking about it that way. . . .”
