Preferred Neutral Site for the AFC Championship Game

If the Bills win their first two playoff games, they will play their final game against the Kansas City Chiefs at a neutral site.

I will submit a polll listing all the NFL Stadiums, except for theirs and ours.

Your job is to indicate where you would prefer the contest to be held. PICK FIVE.

I will indicate Grass or Turf. FYI: Chiefs play on Bermuda Grass

I considered not listing cold weather sites that no one would want to go to, but decided to include all the stadia because some people are more weather tolerant than others.

PICK FIVE

It should be Indy. 600 and change for both of them.

But we have to get to that point first

HC_Chief 01-09-2023 02:20 PM

Dallas would be ideal, IMO: great stadium & field, easy access (transportation), tons of hotels, nightlife - esp next to AT&T Stadium.

AdolfOliverBush 01-09-2023 02:23 PM

Arrowhead. If the last 2 Super Bowls were played at a "neutral site", then the AFCCG can be in KC.

No man my pasture is full of brush and thorns and fresh cow shit. My yard just has a couple of trees and dried cow shit from when the fence was down.

CaliforniaChief 01-09-2023 02:29 PM

I forgot to vote for Minnesota, but that would actually be my top choice because of the proximity to a majority of Chiefs' fans.

That said, somewhere south and west. Sofi would be cool. So would Glendale. Vegas would be alright.

Chiefnj2 01-09-2023 02:32 PM

Wembley Stadium.

Spott 01-09-2023 02:33 PM

Vegas might make the most sense since they know they aren’t in the playoffs and likely have more hotel space than a lot of the other cities. Plus the bowl haircutted ginger weirdo has already offered the stadium to the NFL to be used for the game.

No idea. It was just on ESPN a little bit ago. That guy that looks a little like Schefty but it's not Schefty. Never remember his name. Just said, 'IND is seriously being considered for the AFFCG . . ." blahblahblah. I'm doing some paperwork stuff, so wasn't giving it my full attention.

MahomesIsTheMVP 01-09-2023 02:34 PM

Always loved games played at the Rose Bowl.

Wilson8 01-09-2023 02:35 PM

I don't think they would schedule it in a stadium for a team that is in playoffs. I suppose you could do it for a 6th or 7th seed because game not happening there.

The stadium has to be available. I think Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis has a scheduling conflict.

NFL would probably also want a site where they would not have possible bad weather.

penguinz 01-09-2023 02:37 PM

Indy isn't available.

Cincy, they already got screwed out of a home game so give them this extra game to host.

Indian Chief 01-09-2023 02:38 PM

Hmmm...there are articles from this weekend on Sports Illustrated, NBC Sports, & Indy newspaper website that claim the Colts already killed the idea because of scheduling problems. Maybe the NFL is trying to bribe Irsay into reconsidering it.

Vegas baby. It's pretty much the only way that stadium is going to host an AFC Championship game anytime soon.

ptlyon 01-09-2023 02:42 PM

A few people mentioned Glendale. At first I was against it being that's where butt kicker got hurt. But then see that the SB will be played there. So sure, let's set up shop there. We could potentially have won the first game of the season, the AFCCG, and the SB there. Arrowhead west.

BWillie 01-09-2023 02:44 PM

Dallas or Vegas

Rain Man 01-09-2023 02:45 PM

I like the concept of playing it in an AFC West Stadium. It's like we're breaking into their house and making ourselves at home. So my finalists would be Denver, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

Denver is a short commute for me if I want to go to the game, so I'll pick that city. Residents of Denver will be excited to host a game between two professional football teams.

Western cities are also a little harder on the simpering wimp Bills.

RunKC 01-09-2023 02:45 PM

I think they will narrow this down to teams that did not make the playoffs.

And I have to wonder if Denver isn’t at the top of the list bc they literally just put brand new beemuda grass on their field and it’s out doors.

Nashville would suck ass. So would many others.

I feel like the league would pick Pittsburgh

KC_Lee 01-09-2023 02:47 PM

Since we're undefeated in these location I chose these;
Denver
Las Vegas
Los Angeles

Return to the city of Super Bowl IV;
New Orleans

And to give Dallas fans a chance to see a conference championship;
Dallas

And honestly I am surprised that "You Mom's House" is not listed as an option. This place is slipping.

Renegade 01-09-2023 02:49 PM

What you mean it isn't in the NFL rulebook where a neutral site location is located? This is shocking

That would be interesting.

2nd seed Bills VS 7th seed Dolphins
3rd seed Bengals VS 6th seed Ravens
4th seed Jaguars VS 5th seed Chargers

If Bills and Chiefs were playing in the AFC Championship Game, that would mean Bengals have lost.

Would that be adding insult to injury by having a game there?

Anywhere with nice weather or a dome to keep the bad weather out. Also a place that the field isn't going to cause injuries.

That's a pretty interesting point! Makes you think Frank Reich was given a bad deal. The owner had so little faith in his roster of players that he had zero expectation of hosting a conference title game, so he scheduled a bunch of non-football stuff in the stadium during this time period.

I voted Arizona, mostly so I could crush palomas at lewdogs before the game.

I was giving them the benefit of the doubt though as some dipshit resodded the field like a day or two before our game there but then I confirmed that Murray shredded his ACL on that same field in week 14 so I'm now out on AZ.

If it's in Dallas, that is a big time place for Texas Tech alumni. Huge chunk of our students are originally from DFW and move back there after graduating in Lubbock. KC would have very strong support from the Tech folks if the game is played in Dallas or Houston.

Bengals are clearly salty AF about what transpired. They're gonna take it out on the Bills.

And then after such an emotional win, they'll come out flat against the Chiefs and get curb stomped.

They can play at Lucas oil, that isn’t the problem. With the tournament in town they don’t have enough hotels to house an extra 40k fans or however many make the trip. If the colts actually were in the game you don’t need accommodations for that many visiting fans and then it would be fine.
