Robbie did a series of Fox stunt specials in the 90's, including, jumping from the roof of one hi-rise condo to the other in Las Vegas, Jumping over three US aircraft on the deck of an aircraft carrier, and the Grand Canyon jump where he jumped over a "cove" of the canyon.

I was at his world record 30-limousine jump at the Las Vegas Tropicana hotel in 1998. I met Evel Knievel in the lobby of the Tropicana before the jump, where he was having drinks with his manger and Matthew McCaughnahey.

After the jump, I snuck into an afterparty at the Hotel San Remo next door (now the Hooters hotel). There I met Michael Jackson's Father Joe Jackson, whose other son was in charge of Robbie's merchandise and crew jackets. I even got a photo with Joe Jackson.

At midnight at the airport, a drunk McCaugnahey stepped to me at the gate, confronting me because his entourage hear me say I wanted to beat his ass because he turned me down for an autograph at the Southwest terminal Burger King.

I blamed it on my NFL linebacker-sized auto-mechanic buddy and McCaughnahey stepped away. After we landed at LAX I barfed all over a parked car and then drove home.

RIP Robbie. One of the craziest 24 hours in my life.

Met his dad once, nice guy. I think Robbie had more brains though.

RIP Loved Evel as a kid and have a lot of scars from jumping trash cans on my bike. Followed Robby's jumps in the 90's which were much harder, but to be fair, he wasn't doing them on a heavy Harley with shitty suspension. RPI and Godspeed.

Man, I loved that toy. I got one when I was 8 for Christmas

ChiefsOne 01-13-2023 11:21 PM

I was in Vegas the week he jumped at Cesar’s. I was staying there and rode an elevator with him once, nice guy, and got to watch him practicing, but had to leave the morning he jumped.

Best toy ever made... It actually worked as advertised. I still have my cycle, the complete scramble van and the sky cycle. Haven't pulled them out in years, but I'm getting the urge watching all of the videos like the one below:
