The Montana class capital ships.
The next generation. And under development until 1942
If you like old Dreads and Capitol ships. You'll like this guy's "take" and what changes would have been made to the Montana class had WWII dragged on. https://youtu.be/xjc--Ata5kk |
absolutely amazing that they knew joe montana was going to be great before he was born and named the class after him
|
The ship captained by Kelsey Grammer in TNG’s Cause and Effect. Wasn’t that the USS Montana?

Must be nice. |
Toured the Iowa a few years ago.
I can't imagine a bigger battleship. |

Everything about that area sucked IMO, but the Iowa, Queen Mary, and submarine there was VERY cool. The people were kind of fake, tried to present themselves as so cool, and it was very off-putting. I don't know if it's an LA thing but I just shook my head at the phoney ways people acted around there. (My buddy wins the corn yield competition every year so I get to go on the prize trips with him.) |

The shipping on the drive there was mind-blowing. Massive ships with cargo containers as far as the eyes can see. |
Good stuff. But that guy is kind of hard to listen to. Three and a half stars.

3.5 stars on a NFL playoff Saturday.
I'll take it. |
Why does this dude use a carabiner as an accessory on his belt loop with nothing hanging from it. Trendsetter?
More disturbing is that stain below it |

My parents took me to see the USS North Carolina in the mid 60's. I am sure we toured it but what I remember is that evening they had a show. You parked and had a speaker like at a drive-in from those days. You heard the crew during a battle and they fired off the guns at various times. Very impressive to this 7 year old!

I experienced a lot of cool things during in Navy days that I didn't really appreciate at the time. This definitely wasn't one of those. I'd been in only a few months when I saw that, and never saw it again. |
Being around the hub of activities going on during the construction of such ships had to be an awesome job.
