Guy has played the most special teams snaps on the entire roster, all 4 phases.

I would guess Jody Fortson and we see extra TE protection for Patrick. That will mean chipping on the DEs and stepping out for short quick passes from Mahomes. Got to protect Patrick and don't think Clyde would help much.

Wasn’t he one of our better ST players? That area already sucks, not sure making it suckier for CEH is a good idea.

We did have a couple of dangerous kick returns against us. Chris had 23 special team snaps and 1 tackle on Saturday. Did Lammons screw up enough that they said see you later?

If you are looking for someone to release, just look at the inactive list. Maybe Joshua Kaindoh would have been better? He played 3 games in 2021 and zero in 2022.

I like Lammons as a high-energy special teamer. Hopefully we can keep him on the practice squad in case he's needed for the next couple of games.

This might be in response to his legal problems, but the Chiefs knew this stuff before they re-signed Chris.

This may just be a strategy move that would allow the Chiefs to bring back one player on to the 53-man roster, sign Chris Lammons to the Practice Squad. As a PS player, Lammons can be elevated and will actually make extra money with PS game checks coming his way.

I suppose the Bengals, 49ers, or Eagles could claim him, which would be an interesting twist to the story.

Seems more likely they'd feel the need to have another QB on the roster (i.e., Buechele) than CEH, no?

Who knows if they haven't discussed since the game in early Dec what they'd do different defensively if they play them again? Who know if there wasn't any work done during the bye week on gameplanning for Buffalo/Cincy that Lammons was privy to? Who knows if there might be some special teams wrinkle that could give Cincy any advantage?

I’m just shocked that a board that overreacts to literally everything seems remarkably mellow about a player being signed away by the ****ing Bengals whom we’re about to play in the AFCCG.

I trust Veach and all that and I’m sure he thought the risk was worth it, but it doesn’t make me feel better about the game.

Although I don’t like the move I can’t imagine veach and Reid would be dumb enough to just let him loose if they felt he could give anything away. On decisions like this that are pure logistics I trust the big fella completely. And whatever lammons knows they’ve probably already gone a different direction.

Or maybe it's possible that they released him because they know that he has a big weakness that they can exploit. So if he shows up on the field they'll audible into his achilles heel.

They have 17 game tapes to study from and 3 recent matchups. I don't know what Lammons can give them that isn't already on the tape. Especially when it's Tuesday and they haven't even practiced or gone over this particular games install yet. Everything he can tell them will be based on what they can see on tape, not on any changes Spags is going to implement this week.
