Jeremy Fowler: NFL exec predictions: Could Andy Reid retire after a 2nd Super Bowl?
Andy Reid steps away after a second Super Bowl title?
This one is hardly a slam dunk with Reid still dominating and Patrick Mahomes set to quarterback the Chiefs for the next decade. But it's worth noting that when people involved in the coaching carousel talk about jobs, they often ask whether Reid will walk away at some point in the short term. Reid is 64, with the impressive distinction as the NFL's only head coach with at least 10 playoff wins with multiple teams (Eagles, Chiefs). If Kansas City wins the next two games, Reid enters the exclusive club of coaches with multiple Super Bowl rings. "I just think at some point he could make the life decision to walk away from the grind," an AFC scout said. "I could at least see it." https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/ins...ady-derek-carr |
vague speculation
go back to jerking off to the thought of giving payton infinite money to finish 7-9 |
I mean sure, he could. But I don't think so. He's looked as happy and at ease as he's ever been. But if he does, I won't be mad. He'll be the best coach the Chiefs have had.
|
Desperate Donk loser grasping at straws, sees no path to victory over the Chiefs until Reid and Mahomes are separated.
#20Straight :) |
Bwahahaha. It's a scout thinking out loud
|
Wishful thinking from an "anonymous" Denver... errr "AFC Scout". LMAO
Quesadilla Slow you should be more focused on the reality that your pathetic dumpster fire of a franchise is going to miss out on Sean Payton after missing out on Aaron Rodgers last offseason. |
I just think at some point OP could make the life decision to walk away from eating dick. I could at least see it.
|
No way.
This is what Reid likes to do. Retirement would be torture. |
Nope. God willing and the creek don't rise, he's here as long a PMII is.
|
The key sentence here is "I just think at some point he could make the life decision to walk away from the grind".
According to both Andy and Patrick, there is no "grind". They're having a blast right now. |
orange tinted glasses
|
Bronco fans shouldn't be looking forward to Reid's retirement, because that won't help them. When Mahomes retires in 15 years or so, maybe they'll have a reason to be optimistic.
|
If he does, so be it. The Chiefs would be a near slam dunk to get pretty much any coaching candidate they wanted....unlike some organization roughly 600 miles west of KC
|
reeruned non-news / wishful thinking for fans of lesser teams
|
If the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, Andy retires and the Chiefs hire Sean Payton, can the OP promise to jump off a bridge?

It’s gotten to the point where Bronco fans are cheering for us to win a SB just so Reid may retire. Never thought I’d see the day
Bills fans hate us more than they hate the Patriots. This is heaven |
Misery trying to create company. Sorry train wreck, this aint your station.
LMAO LMAO |
I would. That would suck donkey dick. **** that overrated sack of shit.
|
Yeah Andy isn’t anywhere close to wanting to retire with Patrick as his QB.

Nfl Exec = random scout?
|
Until that Jeff Fisher guy tells us that this is the word being discussed around league circles, I am just going to assume that OP is as nutty as a chit-house mouse.
|
I doubt it.
Andy strikes me as one of those guys who would rather die on the football field than retire. |

Mahomes and this team make Andy feel YOUNG. He's having fun. He's not going anywhere right now. |
Russel Wilson will be a year older and slower next year. After that, he still has 5 more seasons as the donkey’s QB.

Andy is having fun with Mahomes. Can’t see him hanging it up with Mahomes in his prime.

Coaches entire career with journey men QB's, McNabb etc.
Gets an all time great who's just entering his prime....."He may retire". Seems about right. |

You're an idiot. |

With Pete Carroll in his 70s I would bet on 3 - 5 years. Britt was sentenced to 3 years so I could see Andy retiring to spend more time helping him get his life back together after prison, but that's the earliest I could see, barring a major health event or scare.
|
Yeah I’m sure he’s going to pass up on the chance to win more than two titles now that he has his best shot at it.
|
Lol!
No. Andy's having the time of his life. He's waited his whole life for this. Andy Reid will probably croak on the practice field in ten years, so that's what you're wishing for, Donko fan. |
I remember Nate Taylor taking about Andy’s retirement. He said Andy’s ideal retirement is going to the beach, eating a hamburger and then coaching football.
Andy is less stressed than he’s ever been. Hell if you look at him in 2017 with Peters antics and Alex’s struggles, he was worn down. But Patrick saved him. This guy chose not to take any time away for both of his sons terrible issues or his burn out in Philly. He’s gonna be coaching as long as possible |

won't retire until our threepeat
|
KnowMo is lashing out because he's coming to terms with the fact that Dan Quinn will be the Broncos next HC.

LMAO I love that you can tell when Knowmos jimmies are at full rustle. He'll drop the facade of disingenuousness and openly troll in other threads besides the Broncos one. I'm guessing the realization that Payton doesn't view the Denver job as anything.more than a 25 million + cash grab must've set in

Football and working in football was Reid's therapy after losing his son. That's what he needed to help him move on in life. Hell, that's what his freakin wife told him to do. He's going to quit when he's physically incapable of putting in the hours. That's gonna be awhile. |
It’s just a Raiders, Broncos or Chargers Scout hoping he retires.
|
Maybe when The Streak gets to say...40-45, then Andy just miiiiiiight think about it.

15 straight has made you delirious or what? Well, get ready because Reid isn't retiring, and we aren't losing to the trash donktards any time soon.
Now get back to your twatter feed. :shake: |
It won't happen, but even if it did it just means that Denver gets the added embarrassment of Matt Nagy sticking it up your ass for the next 10 years. Patrick Lavon Mahomes II is the truth and he is going to own the AFC West until he retires no matter who the head coach is.
|
Mods, can we do something about this welching turd?
|
Walton is not going to drag him out of his retirement from Patrick Mahomes. To fix Russell Wilson
|
Are the mods going to take away your thread starting privileges? :hmmm:
|
why would andy retire on the cusp of our greatest reloading offseason evah?
the chiefs will be sb favorites the world over |
Quote:
he's a competitive prick |
Andy is having a blast with this team. I don't see him walking away when things are going well.
I will guarantee this about his next Superbowl win, and its a slam dunk! He will get himself a big ass juicy burger and savor every freaking bite! |
Not gonna happen.
Sorry Broncos, Raiders and Chargers fans, you're stuck with Andy and Mahomes for at least another 5 years. |
unthinkable
|
Ahh. It's a Knowmo thread. I didn't even have to read past the title to know that it would be reeruned and full of shit.
|
Reid has the perfect qb it’s the zenith of professional fun he will coach Mahomes until his body fails him. Which, my fear is will be much sooner than he’d otherwise like to go out.
|
Imagine being so desperate for the ability to troll that you are forced to talk about who could happen after another championship. As if that's in any way sense or form a bad thing lol.

Keep in mind this is kind of a rebuilding year.
I know a coach may want to go out on top. But man the best years are still ahead which is incredible to think about. They’ve gone through all the hard work to clean the roster and cap up. His biggest competition in 2 years is going to get obliterated by QBs getting their second contract. Why would he give up now? Just do not see it happen. At the very least I can’t imagine he’d retire before kelce does. |

And under. |

I don't see why he would. Not when you have prime mahomes. This is once in a generation type player. We've been to 5 afc title games and 2 superbowls (hopefully 3 soon). Reid walking away would be silly at this point.
|
how old is Andy Reid anyways? coaching straight for 20+ years has to take it's toll but I doubt he wants to leave a dynasty behind.
|
Jesus ****ing Christ, can a mod please takeaway this douchebags thread starting privledges?
|
Why does this butt-****ing moron have thread starting privileges?
|
I'm sure there's talk among coaches if Reid would retire, going to KC would be a great job. It's a well run organization with a HOF QB. if you're a headcoach or you want to be one, you're asking "when the hell is reid going to retire so I can at least interview??"
