"NFL Coach" says Mahomes Flopped
Never mind it was a penalty regardless but a "NFL Coach" is mad as heck and stuff...
https://www.foxnews.com/sports/nfl-c...ing-field-goal When Patrick Mahomes was hit late, the penalty set up the Kansas City Chiefs for the game-winning 45-yard field goal. However, with some controversial officiating throughout the night, the call has come with some scrutiny not only among fans, but NFL coaches as well. In fact, an NFL coach says Mahomes sold the hit in order to get the extra yards. "That is what the owners want, $40 million skill players flopping on the ground," an NFC defensive coach told The Athletic, "drawing fouls from chemistry teachers, medical device salesmen and the like." The coach was referring to the fact that NFL referees are actually part-time employees by the league. Retired official Ed Houchili is an attorney, a career he held throughout his entire refereeing career — his son, Shawn, is a wealth management advisor when he's not officiating games. Mahomes was tackled by Joseph Ossai at the Bengals' 42-yard line, but the penalty cost Cincinnati 15 yards. Had the refs eaten the whistle, the Chiefs would have had eight seconds to attempt to get closer (or go for a 60-yarder). Instead, they were right in field goal range, and Harrison Butker drilled it. The kick sent the Chiefs to their third Super Bowl in four years, and they improved to 3-2 in their last five AFC Championships - all of which they have hosted since 2019. |
more bullshit
not against you pete |
****, Pete. Did we really need a thread for this?
|
OK, let's encourage late hits out of bounds by NOT flagging it. The man was 3+ feet out of bounds. Don't touch him.
|
On the patriots board they were all saying “refs shouldn’t decide games”. But they all wanted a holding call on that run
Some people might be able to pick up on the humor of that contradiction |
Oh noes
Anyway |

And you apparently needed to post in it..... You're welcome |
My man's dropped to the deck and flopped like a fish like he was watching SpongeBob. Super smart move.

Ossai hit Mahomes twice on that play. Everyone sees the initial hit as Mahomes is out of bounds, but Ossai then used his palm to give Mahomes another push after the initial hit. You can see it clearly from the angle behind the play that they showed right after the play. You can't hit a guy twice and then whine that they shouldn't have called it.
|
So what else did Zac Taylor say?
|
hope he flops us into our second lombardi in four years and the beginning of a dynasty

It's almost like these insane jackasses think if they whine and complain enough, it's going to change the result of the game. I've honestly never seen a larger attempt by so many goddamn people to discredit a win. It's truly disgusting.
So much grit and so much effort being overshadowed by this utter garbage spewing non-stop all over the place. It seriously makes me sick to my stomach. **** every single last one of these mouth breathing dipshits. I hope we kick the ever loving shit out of Philly, and then Reid and Mahomes stand on the podium and tell every single hater to suck their rods. |
What’s so funny: the NFL makes an exception for holds on “rip” rushes. So anyone crying about holding is flat wrong anyway

Good pull here from Nate, a 2nd generation OL expert, and it highlights how fraught instant analysis of individual officiating calls can be. How many viewers of yesterday's game were aware that the NFL rule book addresses a "rip" move, let alone makes it an exception for holding? https://t.co/QOyGAOmAIK
— Kevin Seifert (@SeifertESPN) January 30, 2023
 |
Why in the flying F would Mahomes NOT have sold it as much as possible? Just a smart ass play by an extremely smart player Where is the outrage over Devonta Smith acting like he caught that 4th down bomb to set up the Eagles first score?
Funny how Bengals fans forget their star safety literally FLOPPED on the field like a freaking fish to fake an injury to avoid a penalty during our regular season matchup. |
It’s always going to be a penalty. Happened to us and got called too. It’s the right call.

There's a lot of petty jealousy in the world. And I don't care what an "NFC defensive coach" thinks. If he was any good, he'd be coaching for the Chiefs.

Late hit..........Yes
Exaggerated flop.......... yes Win............ yes |

Probably some no-name quality control coach from a team with a losing record.
|
An unnamed “defensive coach” that’s too much of a pussy to put his name behind it. Maybe Fox should stick to ball washing politicians all day and stfu about sports.
|
Once again, let’s blame the refs instead of “The second coming of Brady” for blowing two opportunities to drive and take the lead in the 4th quarter. But they’re not ready for the reality where Burrow choked and is not all that clutch.

I can’t imagine anyone putting any energy whatsoever into this one. It is blatant roughing. And a qb on a bad ankle running at full speed is going to fall hard even with the lightest shove. Like how the **** do people think mahomes was supposed to fall down on that? |

Refs can’t decide games tho |

The petty bullshit is only beginning, folks. Watch the AFC championship go to KC a sixth time next season and the gloves will come off.

Hey guys remember when that one Bengal player literally fell over faking an injury to avoid a penalty and the whole NFL world didn't give a shit cause it was against the Chiefs?
**** em. Who gives a shit? Just go and win the SB, they'll have nothing left after that. |
The call was obvious but some believe it shouldn't have been called because....what? Oh right. They wanted the Bengals to win and that made it unlikely. Well to that I say. **** you and everyone who looks like ya.
|
Just watched it again, there was no “block in the back”‘on skyy punt return. They bengal running slows down when sky cuts, and the chief right behind him runs into him and holds his arms up trying not to touch him
They’re never calling that nonsense. And - it was right infront of Cinci sideline, and replays showed no complaining by them. If the refs missed it so did they |
Wanna say he flopped? Okay.
He flopped because these assholes refuse to call anything late when he gets hit. Doesn’t matter how blatant it is. So I’m glad he ****ing flopped. Cry some more, bitches. |
NFC coach? If you are too much of a pussy to put your name behind it then shut the hell up.

This is pretty much exactly what I wanted. I don't think this could have gone any better to maximize the schadenfreude... |
Reported by Fox news, not even fox sports. It's probably made up or the "defensive coach" is some ball boy intern.
|
It was a split second decision, yes it was.
In that split second, your dumb, unaware Bengals defender decided he wanted to push a superstar, injured Qb while he was already out of bounds, thus costing his team the game. In that same split second, our brilliant superstar Qb had the intelligence and awareness to hard sell what was already a penalty, to make sure that flag got thrown, thus putting his team in a position to win the game. One player was smart. One was dumb. That's why one is a superstar and the other isn't. ****ing deal with it. |
Lol, how about Burrow's flop when Frank pushed him in the chest? Joe absorbed it, then remembered he could draw a flag, skips backwards two steps and flops backwards, calling for a flag as he's falling.
QBs these days flop all the time. I hate it, but it's the league we have. It didn't look like a flop when Mahomes was shoved towards the benches, but if he did, good for him. |

You’ve got parts of this fan base that want to donate to a charity that Ossai runs because he’s “going through some shit right now”. ****ing what!? This dude just hit your generational QB late. **** him and **** his charity. |
Whenever you see anything generic like “unnamed NFL Coach”, just assume it’s complete BS. This is ****ing laughable

Another loser coach that will be looking for another job soon.
Who give a ****? |
It wasnt a flop. He got hit legitimately and he threw his arms up after he hit the ground. That's different than pretending there was contact. And it's different than embellishing contact. Mahomes is such a competitor, he wanted the call that was obvious and he didnt care if he got hurt. It's too nuanced to describe.
|
we lost a game this season because Chris Jones may or may not have said something mean to Matt Ryan so everyone can go **** themselves
|
A lot of NFL coaches are stupid people. When I was younger, I clearly overestimated the mental ability needed to be an NFL coach. Now I know better. Half of them are employed because of who they know or what their last name is.

1) this is pete%gz attempt to locate anything remotely outrageous to take the microscope off the incredibly witless opinion he posted in the “Spags Did It Again” thread. 2) pete%gz is one of the main lobotomites who, one the left hand complain about all the penalties called and on the other left hand complains about penalties that he sees but the officials don’t call. As Detox has mentioned multiple times over the last 36 hours, it shows how the completely stitch-quilted brains these complainers of rigging and steering sound to others. |

He got ****ing tripped. The guy's foot clipped his and he went flying. The only thing flopping is this coach's flaccid little dick as he watches other men please his wife.

Pray tell what trucking along at 18 mph on a bum wheel and getting pushed in the back by a DE is supposed to look like?
Like was he supposed to somersault into a triple salchow? Fireman roll into a riverdance with the sideline crew? Stomp the yard? FFS |
Some of the comments in that twitter feed are hilarious.

it sucks for Ossai but he pushed Mahomes after he was clearly oob. we've been called for it, everyone gets called for it. maybe if he just bumped him it wouldn't be a penalty but the play was over
