Where to watch in Kihei

CP brethren I need some assistance. Our flight to Maui on the 12th is scheduled to land about ten minutes after KO (I know, I know: insert tiny violins 🎻 playing here)

But man, I’ll be desperate to get a car and find a bar to watch the game. Is there a Chiefs bar on Maui? If not, can anyone recommend a good sports bar in Kihei to watch?

Mahalo, and LFG!!

New World Order 02-02-2023 12:42 AM

Just cancel the trip

This was strongly considered and debated, but I’m married, and I value what little sex I still have so….

Fish 02-02-2023 12:50 AM

Regardless of where you are on the globe, the Superbowl will be broadcast on about every screen. If I remember correctly, they allow you to stream it for free on the web anyway...

Then stay in a hotel and watch it on tv.

Probably have a room with a bed too.

Could knock out a few things and wouldn't have to spend a dime at the bar.

He's worried about watching the Super Bowl in one of the 50 states.

Hawai'i is football crazy. The natives root for the teams that have players with island ties.

It'll be on at any place with a TV. You're going to Hawaii, not Mars. I'd just watch it from your hotel bar or your room and order some room service/uber eats

Bump 02-02-2023 01:19 AM

I mean there has to be a sports bar in Maui and any sports bar is going to be showing the Superbowl. Or even just a regular bar.

Have you considered canceling the trip and using the money you save on a prostitute to watch the game with (and intercourse)??

Kman34 02-02-2023 06:47 AM

It’s the biggest game in the world that day and you are worried about finding where to see it? Dude, It will be everywhere.. Have a great vacation..

scho63 02-02-2023 07:08 AM

Stay at the airport and watch it in the airport lounge until game is over.

wazu 02-02-2023 07:26 AM

Have a YouTubeTV subscription along with best mobile device you own. Will give you a fighting chance if your flight is delayed.

Balto 02-02-2023 07:29 AM

What airline you flying? I would see if they have a special lounge, like free beer/snacks, most airlines/airports have these and can either use free for that day or pay a small upgrade fee.

I’d call airline or airport, pay the extra fee if needed, spend your first 3 hours watching the SB at the airport.

Eleazar 02-02-2023 07:30 AM

I believe they've had television in Hawaii for some time now.

And pay airport prices for beer/cocktails?

Pasta Little Brioni 02-02-2023 07:45 AM

The bigger worry would be a delay that puts you in the air the whole game ....not where to watch

BUT scheduling a trip that week with Mahomes as QB is dumb as ****...sorry. This is a once in a lifetime run.

And then drive drunk full speed into a bridge abutment.

Third world problems.

Rasputin 02-02-2023 08:00 AM

I'm sure Cave Johnson knows a bar in Placencia Belize that you could watch the big game at. Pop a flight you'll make it in time.

I'd watch the first half at the airport and then go to the hotel while the God awful halftime show is on. Profit.

Monty 02-02-2023 08:06 AM

Add a connecting flight to Phoenix, then go to Maui from there. You don’t have to actually buy tickets, but the environment would be amazing.

cmh6476 02-02-2023 08:06 AM

There are places to watch, obviously. The problem is you land after Kickoff, and it takes a long azz time to unload the plane, long time to get your luggage off the carousel, and a long time to wait in the line to get your rental. I know because I was there in maui for my honeymoon in July.

At best, you are shooting for something at halftime.

That happened to me during the 2019 AFCCG against Tennessee. I was supposed to land about 2 hours before the game started so I figured that I’d have plenty of time. But I ended up sitting around the Savannah airport and watching the first half of the game in their waiting area. The plane took off about 5 minutes into the 2nd half and I had to wait until we landed to find out who won.

Titty Meat 02-02-2023 08:11 AM

Tell your wife u are secretly gay, trip canceled

Why Not? 02-02-2023 08:14 AM

I'm not including guys who have to travel for emergencies or if your boss is making you for work, but outside of that, why the **** would anyone travel during the weekends of the NFL playoffs? Do y'all just go along when the Mrs. says when she's booking a flight and you don't check the schedule? No way I would agree to a trip during those weeks. She can plan whatever she wants the other 49 weeks out of the year. Learn to read a calendar, fellas.

FlaChief58 02-02-2023 08:28 AM

Hawaii is still America. Just find a tv, any tv and it'll be on.

Marcellus 02-02-2023 08:34 AM

Dude is seriously asking where to go to watch the SuperBowl? Like its on pay per view or something?

Or is this a BRC style humblebrag about going to Maui?

He asked if there was a Chiefs bar or a particularly good place to watch the game. I'm guessing he wants some atmosphere and not just the first dive bar he sees on the road. This is not unreasonable.

Dunerdr 02-02-2023 09:09 AM

Just pay the price for the nfl app for a month, watch it as you land while looking for a bar. Surely every bar would have it on.

Yep, and Mrs. Monty is just as engaged with NFL playoff schedules, so no issue for me.

Maybe you can auction off the wife and start new? LMAO

cmh6476 02-02-2023 09:19 AM

I don't think he's asking if it'll be on in Hawaii, you guys. He's asking where he can get close to the airport to watch as much of the game as possible.

Yeah, but by the time he gets his luggage, the game will likely be in the 2nd qtr. Then, taxi to the hotel, check in and then go to a bar (most of which require a reservation on sb Sunday). He may get there midway through the 4th if he's lucky. If it we're me, I'd just hang out at the airport or the hotel and watch it.

tyecopeland 02-02-2023 09:31 AM

I'd sign up for a streaming plan with dvr and close my eyes and ears until I got to the hotel and then start the game from the start.

This thread makes me so thankful I am not married. I can’t imagine getting dragged to an island to pay 3x the normal price for drinks on Super Bowl Sunday. Even if the Chiefs weren’t playing-what the **** were you thinking when you booked that flight? You’re going to miss the whole first half and that’s if your flight is on time which is incredibly rare these days. If you can’t cancel the trip, I’d suggest just getting a divorce. No significant other is worth that kind if sacrifice.

You’ve obviously been married too long if she’s been able to brainwash you into thinking that can only be done once a year. LMAO

In the OP's defense, it is Valentine's Day week, so he might be angling for that elusive "around the world" sex from the Mrs. But I suspect he's not a CP alpha.

This sweet website just came out called Google. You should try it out.

Here, I'll help:

P.S. Your wife sucks for booking a trip on Super Bowl Sunday. That's a sin.
