Shit, man. I was reading the DL thread this morning and O.City asked about Tyree Wilson and how high they'd have to get.

I almost referenced what we were saying about Travon Walker last year (him getting arrested or something).

And then this breaks. Holy cow.

Yeah, I remember the good ol' days before the combine when I was like "Man, I think we have a reasonable shot at maybe trading up to 20 and getting Travon Walker..."

Then the combine happened.

I'm betting he still goes in the top 10 and potentially still stays in the top 5.

Then again, using a top 10 pick on a dude who just might end up with charges upgraded to some level of vehicular homicide if he doesn't play nice is...risky.

I mean the only difference between what he did and Ruggs did is that he didn't tap the expedition's bumper or something prior to it losing control. But every other element of the incident, when you view 'process' rather than execution (for a lack of a better way of putting it) is identical.

That's a pretty nasty little set of circumstances and the guy was a bit of a loose cannon even before this surfaced. He's coming off a few draft boards here, IMO.

It's just rumored at this point. The fact that they probably can't prove it may be the only thing that keeps him out of jail.

The good news for Carter is that a couple of potential key witnesses are gonna be....unavoidably detained for the foreseeable future.

I think it's a case where Carter PROBABLY doesn't face serious legal ramifications.

It's going to be hard to prove he was under the influence if they didn't do a blood draw in the moment. I can't imagine there's any sort of felony rider for this. I'd guess he gets some probation.

After Britt, there's no way they buy that kind of trouble.

This team has always given guys second chances though...in reality not much is gonna come from this. He'll get charged with leaving the scene of a crime because I doubt there is much else they can prove.

I think I'd make that move for the top talent in the draft, then pray that Carter falls to us in the 2nd.

We were talking about this last year with Thibodeaux. A lot of we’re down for that. I’m glad we’re not in charge. But Carter is absolutely better than Thibs. It would all depend on the background check. But it’s absolutely a yes from me
