Arrest Warrant issued for Jalen Carter

Being sought for reckless driving and racing in the accident from a few months back that killed the UGA staffer and one of his teammates.

Ruh Roh, shaggy.

(would absolutely take him at 31)

Interesting...

Shit, man. I was reading the DL thread this morning and O.City asked about Tyree Wilson and how high they'd have to get.

I almost referenced what we were saying about Travon Walker last year (him getting arrested or something).

And then this breaks. Holy cow.

Yeah, I remember the good ol' days before the combine when I was like "Man, I think we have a reasonable shot at maybe trading up to 20 and getting Travon Walker..."

Then the combine happened.

****ing combine.

I'm betting he still goes in the top 10 and potentially still stays in the top 5.

Then again, using a top 10 pick on a dude who just might end up with charges upgraded to some level of vehicular homicide if he doesn't play nice is...risky.

I mean the only difference between what he did and Ruggs did is that he didn't tap the expedition's bumper or something prior to it losing control. But every other element of the incident, when you view 'process' rather than execution (for a lack of a better way of putting it) is identical.

Get hammered, drive like a lunatic through traffic, someone gets dead as a result of your behavior.

That's a pretty nasty little set of circumstances and the guy was a bit of a loose cannon even before this surfaced. He's coming off a few draft boards here, IMO.

In58men 03-01-2023 09:32 AM

He’ll be there in the 6th round when we pick.

O.city 03-01-2023 09:38 AM

Wait, was he hammered?

Urc Burry 03-01-2023 09:38 AM

Are you guys thinking what I’m thinking?

IIRC it was in the morning. He’s been pulled over going 80 in a 40. So there’s a chance they were racing. Can’t be sure tho

That Jalen Carter playing next to Chris Jones gets my dick hard?

I hope that's the case because SOMETHING has my dick hard and I'm a bit concerned if that's not what did it.

It's just rumored at this point. The fact that they probably can't prove it may be the only thing that keeps him out of jail.

The good news for Carter is that a couple of potential key witnesses are gonna be....unavoidably detained for the foreseeable future.

That due to the Britt Reid situation Jalen Carter is now radioactive to this team in any draft scenario? Unfortunately, yes.

It's my superpower, I'm afraid.

You should see me when I walk up to a craps table when a person is on a heater throwing the dice. LMAO

duncan_idaho 03-01-2023 09:54 AM

I think it's a case where Carter PROBABLY doesn't face serious legal ramifications.

It's going to be hard to prove he was under the influence if they didn't do a blood draw in the moment. I can't imagine there's any sort of felony rider for this. I'd guess he gets some probation.

What teams can draft him, though? Not the Chiefs.

The Franchise 03-01-2023 09:56 AM

He isn't making it to 31...even with this shit over his head.

He's...

He's going to get drafted by the Raiders, isn't he?

I wouldn't be surprised if Seattle took him.

LOL. He should be even more radioactive to them than us.

Which means they probably will take him.

I gotta think Ruggs gets him off even the Raiders board, right?

Right???

Chargers, OTOH, seem like an option. Nobody gives a shit about them anyway.

duncan_idaho 03-01-2023 11:04 AM

Chargers or Rams?

If he slips out of the first, the Rams seem like a team that would take the swing and that can handle any sort of media push back.

duncan_idaho 03-01-2023 12:25 PM

Although… if you were trying to adopt DJ’s suggestion to just accept and own the black hat…

After Britt, there's no way they buy that kind of trouble.

This team has always given guys second chances though...in reality not much is gonna come from this. He'll get charged with leaving the scene of a crime because I doubt there is much else they can prove.

I think the optics prevent them from giving THIS kid a second chance.

He'll most likely still be drafted way before us so it's not really something to get worked up about.

That's true, I really doubt this hurts him that much. Maybe us and the Raiders should keep away but that's about it.

Couch-Potato 03-01-2023 01:25 PM

I think the top prize for our team would be another dominant DT to play next to C Jones.

Would you trade #31 + our extra 4th + next year's 1st to move up and take him at #11-15???

I think I'd make that move for the top talent in the draft, then pray that Carter falls to us in the 2nd.

G Karlaftis, C Jones, J Carter, F Clark/A Carter = yikes!

We were talking about this last year with Thibodeaux. A lot of we’re down for that. I’m glad we’re not in charge. But Carter is absolutely better than Thibs. It would all depend on the background check. But it’s absolutely a yes from me

If he's there at 31, you run that card up as fast as you can and take the W.

They are actually calling them misdemeanors. Wow.
